idk i just think that bucktommy endgame would be great actually. tommy and eddie are already friends and neither of them is displaying signs that buck & eddie's codependent friendship will be a problem. tommy is at least mostly aware that buck is seen as a parental figure for chris, and doesn't have a problem with it. the 118 family already know and like tommy (unlike pretty much every girl buck has ever dated). buck and tommy are both firefighters so the job isn't gonna scare him off as it has with most of his exes (oop, probably tommy's exes too). they're not in the same firehouse so there's no skirting around the dating-a-coworker issue that is certainly more of a problem than buddie fanfic likes to make it out to be

God do you ever think about how Buck was the only one from 118 who saw Eddie getting shot? He had to save him single-handedly, he had to be the reassuring voice and the bloody hands. He had to be the one who carried Eddie and the one who let him go into the hospital. Nobody else could live that with him.

When the lightning strike happened, everyone saw it. Everyone worked together. They all collapsed into each other's company.

Buck was alone. And Eddie doesn't remember anything after getting shot.

Buck carries this memory, this awareness and every second of what it took to keep Eddie alive and it will always be locked inside him because nobody else had the blood on them.
