Less than 24 hours after the Sun enters Aries, we have our first new moon in the next 12-month cycle. This one is special particularly because of its degree. There are only 4 degrees (out of 360) that we can call “Zero-Point Aries”. This is a degree that represents the ingress into a new season (either the equinoxes or the solstices). Karmically, this is a powerful degree of manifestation. Because it’s a new moon, it’s also helpful in assisting people to wipe their slate clean. This new moon exacts at 1:22 pm EDT on Tuesday. I cast a chart for Atlanta and it has Cancer rising — putting the Moon at the forefront. Because this is a new moon, both the Moon and the Sun are conjunct at 0º Aries. This is a fantastic day to manifest bringing goals into focus, as both the Sun & Moon semi-sextile Saturn (giving laser-like focus and determination) and Pluto (the intense planet of death, rebirth, and metamorphosis). Part 2: Is that my Trauma or is it my Empathy? Many empaths will see their abilities as a burden – I mean, anyone would if they constantly felt the emotions and physical pains of others, were hypersensitive, etc...Yet the problem lies not with empathy itself so much as the empath's lack of boundaries. Empaths must have physical & spiritual boundaries (more on spiritual boundaries in a later post). Many with trauma were trained from an early age (or in a toxic relationship) that their opinions and feelings didn't matter. They may have had to "grow up quickly" to be emotional support for a parent (parentalized child), or suppress their emotions because they were secondary to the toxic person's. This promotes an emotional dissonance – detachment from the emotions they are feeling. This trauma often coincides with low self-esteem and a lack of boundaries – a toxic mix for anyone seeking a relationship. That's why their relationships can have a higher chance of failure – especially when they refuse to seek professional help. They end up giving, giving, and giving so the ones they care about would need them enough (because to them, their worth is tied to how much they needed). To the point, they become perpetually drained and even depressed. It's also common for empathic trauma survivors to subconsciously seek similar dysfunction their abusers had in their partnerships – as an opportunity to "fix" old narratives of abuse – a self-perpetuating cycle. Sure, as an empath you'll want to heal people as you can sense their pain, but it's futile if: a; they don't want to change and, b; you don't have strong emotional boundaries. We can't control the first factor, but the second is well within our control through professional help. You can't fill the cup of another if yours has holes in it. Part 1. Let's play the game of: Is this my Intuition or is it my Trauma? Trauma is the result of something *traumatizing* that happened to you at some point in your life. It could be something recent or something from your childhood. The point is, it was traumatizing for YOU. Trauma literally changes how the brain is physically wired. It changes how we think, how we react, and how we perceive things, among a multitude of other physiological and psychological things. It can be a part of what causes us to act and behave in abnormal and unhealthy ways in triggering situations. Intuition, however, is our connection to source consciousness. Unlike trauma, which is tied to fear – intuition is connected to divine love. It is the invisible part of us connected to all things. It is that calm, quiet inner voice that guides us to become better. When our trauma triggers arise, they can easily be confused with gut/intuitive information because, on the surface, they seem similar. However, looking at them more deeply we can see that they differ. Since trauma is based on fear and negative experiences, it in and of itself is a negative reaction. Trauma and ego-based experiences can be sarcastic, panicky, convoluted, grandiose, inconsistent, promote self-harm/the harm of others, and are overall, negative. An intuitive experience is always love-based, even if the message is difficult. Genuine intuitive experiences are calm, clear, consistent, promote being of service, gentle yet powerful, and they often feel like you knew them all along. *Nerd alert* I am weird about my sketchbooks. Maybe it's 'cause I've got a touch of the 'tism, I dunno. but they have to be the *right size* and most are either too big or too small. Ugh. So, I measured out my preferred notebook size based on the notebooks I thought were too big or too small. There was one I loved – my Holbein watercolor notebook – but alas, it had coils (annoying for a leftie). Tiny, but annoying coils. So I searched and searched and finally found Denik! They had notebooks in 7x9, AND you can customize them! Also, no coils. Yay!!! So smooth and a velvety textured cover. All for about $23 + shipping. Worth it! Our inner child can't tell the difference and will hold out hope, but that often keeps us stuck with someone difficult. Some examples of each slide: 1) The person isn't psych-minded and doesn't care to be. This doesn't make them bad people, but it often makes them difficult if you want real intimacy [or an enjoyable friendship]. 2) Weaponized mood ranges from silent treatments to someone making sure everyone in the house knows they are upset and either wants attention or wants you to feel bad or maybe both. 3) They don't see the impact of their mood on others and will just casually say they were upset and moved on. "Big deal...what's it to you?" People can actually be in a bad mood but also mature at the same time. 4) They have a damaged self-monitoring system. They don't care to know why they are in a bad mood and just think it happens like the weather. Or if they pick a fight at a restaurant, they can't see that they are triggered or upset about something else. Poor insight or emotional intelligence. 5) They didn't talk to you for two days in a silent treatment and then blow up on you when you tell them that behavior is immature and you need to talk, and they gaslight you about being overly emotional. 6) Once the emotions or a fight has died down, it goes back a status quo, and the issues of upset or behavior are never addressed because the issues are only a problem to you, and to them, it's just how "they are" - a fixed thing that you need to stop having a problem with. My experience is that the difficulty remains when we try to get difficult people like this to change. We have to look at what they are really like versus their potential which again is coming from the inner child lens." . . . . . Something I'd like to add, is you are never responsible for another person's emotions. Other adults are responsible for their emotions. Do not despair – the negativity we see in the news is a good indicator of humanity's ascension. “Humanity is reaching the end of the evolutionary stage of ego.
