Have you ever considered doing a livestream of your calligraphy/art on Twitch, YouTube, etc.? I feel like it would be very calming to watch you work your magic.

i have thought about it, yeah! i’m curious how many folks would actually watch though, haha. i’d have to invest in a webcam and other such things to make it happen, so gauging interest is kinda important before all that happens.

if folks like this idea though, please let me know! i’m certainly not opposed to it ^_^

if folks are interested in watching calligraphy streams in general, @theshitpostcalligrapher streams calligraphy on saturdays! if you’re unfamiliar with them, you shouldn’t be. go enjoy their stuff. i know i do!

calligraphy request going off to it’s new home ^_^

reminder that if you really love your request, you can have it mailed to you! i only ask that folks pay a bit for shipping. if that’s a financial barrier to you, message me and we can work it out, no questions asked. <3

a story in three parts, ft. @mustardbee

me (they/them): “snoot i know you’re there”
snoot (he/him): if i don’t make eye contact they can’t see me…shhh

thank you @bitecore for these photos xD

[image description: the first image shows op outside in a snowy forest, wearing black clothes, metal armor, and a dark green cloak with a fur mantle. they hold a sword unsheathed in their right hand and look towards the camera. op is white with long wavy brown hair worn loose. snoot, a white man with a trimmed brown beard and dressed in a dark brown trench coat with a grey hood worn up, is poking his head into the bottom left side of the frame, crouching behind op. the second photo shows op in profile to the right, and snoot is more in the frame. the third photo shows op having turned around to look at snoot, who is holding up a finger to his lips and looking away from op, still crouching in the snow. end image description.]

‘tis my birthday! thank you @bitecore for photographing me in the freezing cold today.
i have a new sword! a gift to myself ^_^ doesn’t have a name yet, but it’s a beautiful 13th century arming sword. a most perfect addition to my collection <3

[image description: op stands in a snowy forest, wearing dark clothes, metal armor, and a dark green cloak with a fur mantle. in the first photo, they are looking off to the left, sword half-drawn from it’s scabbard. in the second and third photos, the sword is drawn and held in their right hand at their side. in the fourth photo, op stands with the sword sheathed and worn on their belt, with their left hand resting on the hilt. op is white with long wavy brown hair worn down. end image description.]

they/them

it’s funny having this online space where most of the photos of me are ones wrapped in armor and tunics, haha.
the clothes i actually live in look much more like this. on the rare occasion i shop for clothes, my question is always: “could i climb a tree in this?” because, well, odds are i’ll end up climbing a tree in it.

anyway, i hope you’re all doing well. get some rest, drink some water, and be gay <3

[image description: two photos of the same composition depict op from the waist-up wearing a dark green flannel over a black hoodie. op is white with long-ish straight brown hair - their hair is worn in a bun in the first photo, and down in the second photo. they wear a relaxed smile in both photos, and in the second photo their left hand shows a peace sign. end image description.]

so, @bitecore got me this gorgeous throne for my birthday, and i took it upon myself to restore the velvet to it’s original perfect dark green - my absolute favorite color.

by unfolding bits of the upholstery, i could see the original color that hadn’t been faded by sunlight, which was actually really cool. after going down the rabbit hole of youtube and the internet looking for ways to dye upholstery, ended up using diluted chalk paint.

after each coat, i gently sanded the fabric, and that’s how it retained it’s softness. i’m so pleased with it <3 expect a series of throne photos sometime soon!

[image description: the first photo shows the original chair, with the upholstery a faded gold-green color. the second photo shows the chair half and half, with the left side having received one coat of diluted chalk paint. the third is fully covered with two coats. the fourth photo shows a close-up of an unfolded bit of the upholstery, revealing the original dark green color that hadn’t been faded by sunlight. end image description.]
