“You are an architect, are you not? You have studied the techniques of Daedalus himself. Who better to redesign Olympus and make it a monument that will last for another eon?”
When Annabeth is not redesigning Olympus, she plays the Sims, and she does not like to be disturbed… | art
Hey, I was wondering if your "head in the clouds" piece would be in stock again? Thanks!
I’ll be restocking that piece in the new year, probably first or second week of January! I’ll let you all know when I do 😊Takin’ a breather for the rest of this year.
How thrilled were you when you found out that the actors that played bellamy and clarke got married in real life?? I stopped watching the 100 years ago but I was literally over the moon
I LOST MY MINNNNNND I was so thrilled. Of course, I was mostly excited for the happy couple, but the validation of seeing them come together after YEARS of sexual tension on The 100… truly unmatched. Bellarke at least lives through them, ya know?
I work full-time as a graphic designer for a cute lil kid’s furniture company called ducduc, and I’m also a freelance illustrator on the side :) both are very fun.
same anon. i felt like i missed such huge oppurtunity being in fandom tumblr. now that i want to do art seriously, tumblr is basically dead. i see so many good artists on twitter who used to go on tumblr sharing their art and improving along the way. i feel like i could have been one of those ppl if i was just confident in myself
If tumblr is dead, guess I’m a zombie! I’ll be honest, I did not have even close to a big audience when I first started posting my art online. Compared to some of my early online art pals, I STILL don’t have a crumb of their audience. I felt like I came at the end of the DA era, too late to the Instagram game, never figured out Twitter. There are so many times that I felt like opportunities were wasted, especially when I fell off from fan art or when I stopped posting here regularly like I used to. It’s an ebb and flow.
I feel most comfortable sharing my work here, and that’s why I keep doing it—despite how many less eyes will see it than ten years ago. And the great thing is, whether people see it or not, you can look back and see your own progress over time. I feel that’s more valuable than anything.
If you want to jump into fandoms, do it! Trust me—they are still VERY much alive. The great thing about stories is that new ones are constantly being told. Just share the art you want to share, and let yourself learn with the joy of it.
Ugh, love your art. Miss your da art. I’ve been a follower since 2012 and to see your improvement is massively inspiring. If you ever decide to, i would love to see your old da art maybe just as an archive? If not, totally understand. Best wishes and happy holidays x
You have no idea how comforting it is to have someone know my past art and still stay along to see more, especially for so long! 2012! That’s almost 10 years! I can’t recall exactly, but I believe I made my DA account in 2011… so you’ve been along for the whole ride :) Thank you.
As for DA art, all of those files are lost on my dad’s old computer in some landfill in Pennsylvania. BUT I was able to find some goodies on a quick google search of “andiree” and “shivverz” (my first DA username).
This is Molly. Remember her? The hot, angsty, angry, rocker best friend in my first attempt at a novel.
The Fault in Our Stars! I was a huge John Green fan, and I even remember SCREAMING when he liked this on tumblr. SCREAMING.
Eleanor & Park took me on a wild ride. I really love these two characters.
I had a weird phase of drawing necks like…that…at this time. Really don’t know what inspired that.
This is one of the first things I ever remember posting. It was inspired by Sam and Grace from Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. Surprisingly, I still really like it after all these years.
The day I discovered you can use funky brush sets in photoshop! haha
Ugh, the loads and loads of Percy Jackson fan art! This series is what kept me occupied for all of middle school and high school. My life long crush on Percy is probably why I’m so into sarcastic New York boys with jet black hair (sea green eyes would be a bonus!)
The sheer amount of DRAWING I did while on DA and the beginnings of Tumblr is what really pushed me along as an artist. I didn’t feel like I was practicing when I drew fan art every day. I just simply wanted to do it. There were many nights I stayed up til 3, 4 in the morning and worked on my wacom tablet while my dad snored in the background.
Enjoy these archived images, all ranging from 2011-2014. It was a lot of work to get to where I am now, but it was also a lot of fun. That’s the more important detail.
Would you ever sell the original of your piece, Head in the Clouds? How does one go about buying your art? It’s gorgeous ☁️
I’m a lil obsessed with it myself at the moment, but eventually yes :) When I do choose to sell it, I will upload it to my storenvy shop and you can purchase through there! I’ll announce here and on instagram when I plan to put it up for sale.
Did someone say friends-to-lovers romance?!? COUNT ME IN… literally. Math is always on the mind with these two 👩🏻💗🧑🏼
Happy to share these characters I illustrated for the cover of “The Quantum Weirdness of the Almost-Kiss” by Amy Noelle Parks. Hit up your local bookstore in the new year—specifically, Jan 5th, 2021!
