Just throwing thoughts around: can we come up with a birth control method that is administered to girls at a young age, say 12, so they can’t ever get pregnant unless they finally decide to? You want to have a baby at 26? Cool let’s reverse the birth control. Clearly men aren’t invested or interested in male birth control, so women have to do something about it. But the problem is to do something like this on a large scale needs the support of men who take up majority of government positions. Plus, the patriarchy knows that its power is in controlling reproduction, that as we all know, is in the hands of women.

Why are women historically the ones forced to be a certain way? Be feminine. Sit with your legs closed. Don’t talk to boys. Like why are you so afraid? What are you afraid of? Is it because they can get pregnant? Can you do something to fix that? Why do you have to shut away half the population because you’re scared of babies?

Even though I now identify as a woman, coming out as non binary helped me to stop seeing myself as an object and now as a real human being. It felt so freeing to just exist, without having to play any roles. I felt at home in my body for the first time in my LIFE. I wrote an article in the past and had people comment that I didn’t have body dysmorphia and that I was a trans man. No, I just wanted to stop seeing myself as a failed woman. I’d look at my body every day and see an ugly woman and not a human body. I don’t consider myself very feminine, but on god did I do my best to be a feminine woman! But now, I literally don’t care how I look. I don’t go on ridiculous diets like I did since I was 10. I’m comfortable in my body as a good, human body. I stopped pandering to men. I have a boyfriend, but now I don’t do stupid shit like sending nudes every week even though I didn’t even like doing it. I don’t even feel much attraction to men anymore. Patriarchy makes you feel like your biggest role in life is to arouse men. Patriarchy makes women doubt themselves. Makes them second guess their every thought. It makes their true self into one that only caters to men.

The biggest problem right now for Afghan women is Islam and by proxy, patriarchy. For those Muslims saying that Allah did not explicitly state that women should not be forced to get married and that he did not say that children should not be married? I think you should start calling yourselves “Quranists” because that is exactly what your prophet Muhammad did.

Sure he didn’t capture women as slaves and “booty” every day, but he did it when he was conducting holy wars or jihad. This is exactly what Islamist groups like the Taliban and ISIS are doing right now. Holy war to transform the world back to the real Islam. They will beat women for not wearing hijab. They will stone adulterers. They will lash fornicators. They will kill homosexuals. They will kill anyone who leaves Islam. They will not allow women to wear jewelery or makeup or colorful clothes. They will not allow women to travel without a male relative. They will not allow women to speak in their normal voices but to gruff it out so men don’t get aroused.

Yes these are all real things your prophet preached. Sure Allah didn’t talk about child marriage in the Quran, but if it was so immoral, then he would have! So now Allah is not omnipotent and omniscient? Stop cherry picking Islam. These are things your prophet promoted in his religion. Don’t say Allah “definitely didn’t condone child marriage in the Quran” okay but like, he didn’t explicitly send a verse against it, did he?

I know I’m not offering tangible reformations, but here is where we can start. Start questioning Islam. Go to the roots. Read the texts. Make a decision for yourself. Allow yourself to doubt. You cannot just believe a religion that was imposed by you as a child. Use your faculties to make a conscious decision. Next: stop killing ex Muslims. Allow people to have their faith. Stop making people ashamed and afraid to exist because they don’t follow the same beliefs as you. Ban all countries forming on the basis of religion. It’s just not right.

You know why people would think that banning an Islamic state is wrong? Because the prophet called for an Islamic state. Yes, he did. They want to uphold an Islamic state that does everything the way of the prophet. There are legit people who want Islam to regress back to prophetic times. They believe that is the true and pure Islam.

For the hijabis who think Islam is alright, would you be happy to go live in an Islamic state? Where you have to wear an abaya or niqab and not be allowed to leave home without a mahram? Please, I’m imploring you, take a deep look at what kind of religion you are supporting. It doesn’t have your best interests at heart. No one wants to live like that. Women suffer already, why are you putting yourself through Islam?

If the radfems of Tumblr dot com do not side with the Afghan women and call out Islam I will finally understand that you were just fucking keyboard warriors and don’t give a shit about women if they aren’t from the west. Recognize Islam as an oppressive tool against women. The Taliban IS the real Islam. This is what we are taught. The extremist Muslims call the regular regular Muslims “coconuts” or people sugarcoating Islam and picking an choosing the lovely sides of it. I assure you even regular hijabis strive for the day they can wear niqabs and abayas because they know that’s the real Islam! Radfems need to be talking about Afghanistan more! Can you be a radfem but still embody your divine feminine and what not? Is spirituality a choice for feminists? Can you believe in god and still be a feminist?

Men aren’t advantaged because they’re masculine, masculinity IS the advantage. Males are advantaged because they are the sex which is allowed to be masculine.

Similarly, women aren’t punished for being feminine, femininity IS the punishment for being female. Women are disadvantaged because we are pressured to be feminine and punished if we deviate. We’re only praised for ~embracing femininity~ because it means we’re willingly accepting our chains. Convincing women that femininity is innate and inevitable rather than taught is just a way to keep us from opening our eyes or our mouths, or imagining a scenario in which things are different.

Women are oppressed for being female, and when you slap some makeup and a push-up bra on that oppression it’s called femininity.
