It was a calm night; as calm as it could get if you’re an avenger. You and your girlfriend, Wanda, sitting on the bed, you with your back to the headboard, her with her back to the wall. Both scrolling through your phones, basking in each others presence, when she looked up unexpectedly. You looked up at her with a startled look before raising an eyebrow at Wanda’s apologetic gaze, “What’s a carnival?” she asked quietly, as if she were expecting you to laugh at her question. What she didn’t expect was you smiling softly and pulling her to your side, kissing her forehead softly in affection before running your hands through her hair, “It’s a time each year that people get together and enjoy the music, food, masquerades, roller coasters, and games, mi amor” you whispered softly, feeling the wheels turn in her head as she took the information in, making you giggle quietly. She looked up at you with a confused expression on her face “So you’re saying anyone can go?” she asked with child-like wonder in her tone, which made you want to break the kneecaps of the men who took this part of her life from her, “yeah babe, basically anyone can go, and if you want there’s one next month we could go to?” you replied with a smile, laughing at the way her face brightened and she threw herself at you, repeating the word “Thank you!” as she clutched the life out of you.

A month later you had kept your promise, watching as she took photos with fans and played every game in the carnival until you guys were out of money. You didn’t care though, seeing her as happy as she was after everything, was worth more than every dollar you wasted. You smiled as she finished the last game you had money for, winning a cute alligator plushie for you because you had won one for her when you started teaching her how to play, yours was the alligator one and hers was the cute cat one she had fallen in love with as soon as she saw. You chuckled and shook your head fondly at the memory before hugging her from behind, “Its time to go mi amor” you whispered, not wanting to break her happiness yet. She pouted before looking around, her eyes landing on the Ferris Wheel, “Can we go on that one before we leave, pretty please?” she asked giving you the puppy eyes. You sighed in defeat before nodding and leading her to the Ferris Wheel.

After you had paid with some money she had found in her pocket, you both got on. You stared at the lights, fiddling with the small box in your pocket, you had wanted to propose for a while now but never found the right time until now that was. You smiled to yourself before turning to her, surprised that she was already looking at you with a glint in her eye you couldn’t identify. You smiled softly at her before taking a breath for what you were gonna say, closing your eyes in the process, “I have something to ask you-” you both said at the same time, making you burst out in giggles together, when you both had caught your breath you smiled at her, “why don’t we say it at the same time then?” you asked and she nodded in agreement, you reached for the box again to have it ready, “1….2….3….”. “Will you marry me?” you both opened your eyes in disbelief, your eyes beginning to water as you noticed she had pulled out a box similar to yours. You both burst out in laughter, not knowing if you were either crying or laughing by the end of it, “God we really are soulmates aren’t we, mi amor?” you whispered trying not to startle yourselves out of the moment, the fact that you were in a carnival and at the top of a Ferris Wheel already forgotten. She wiped her eyes and smiled at you, “yes we are, моя любов” she whispered back, the both of you smiling brightly once you both put on the rings and took a picture. You didn’t know if she was the one when you first met her, but under these shining stars you realized life works in the funniest of ways but you wouldn’t have it any other way

A/N: the nickname Wanda has for you is “my love” in Ukrainian but I used google translate so idk if its correct

hey, guys, so i need some help.  i was unexpectedly kicked off unemployment because mcalisters said that i quit even though i didn’t, i’ve just been gone for the summer.  i’ve had to pay a bunch of medical bills and also spent about $300 pf my own money on donations for protests on top of the money that was donated for it.  i just need money for gas and food.  in order to start my new job, i need gas. thank you guys so much.
