Changes in Music

I watched a few performances on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024. I noticed a pattern that shook the insides of my stomach. The melanated performers wore overly suggested clothing and moved raunchy while the other performers kept it cute, based on the performances that I saw. Expressing sexuality is not a problem, however when an agenda is attached to it then it becomes a problem. I am appaulled by the shift in mainstream Hip Hop and R&B. The songs may be catchy, but what is it doing to your mind? It is poison, but I smell a change and it is coming soon.

Clearly you are special and have a significance in this world. Technology has stirred us away from the main mission of this planet, finding purpose. If you want to discover your purpose you must be true to yourself. If you are unsure how to proceed then look in the mirror. Rather you like it or not you are a part of this planet, and the main character. Since you are the main character you have the ability to create the life that you want. Who do you want to be known as? and what are your natural gifts and talents that you share with the world?

Nia, Theme of the Day

There are many worlds, however the main worlds are the physical and subconcious. The subconcious worlds are daydreams, contemplations, repressions, instincts, and inner emotions; the physical world is your daily life. We are a pro at the physical world, but what about the subconcious ones? Pay attention to the listed areas and decode them. What messages are you recieving during your main character journey?

Daydreams

Your daydreams are like a playground. Childlike minds have a powerful imagination because they can think of something and make it come true. What are you in your world of endless possibilities? Become it.

Contemplations

Maintain positive thoughts to create a benefical present and future.

Repressions

You have to work on your negative qualities and speak up when necessary in a mature manner.

Instincts

It will usually guide you towards the right direction and away from situations that are dangerous. Stop falling for the same trap over and over, you know the stove is hot so stop touching it!

Inner Emotions

You can bury your emotions into the ground but the soil never changes. Embrace your mistakes and curiosity and life will embrace you with love and gifts.

Black Panther

What happens if you search "black panther" on the internet? You will recieve web results for the movie and not The Black Panther Party. Sounds like a trick, don't you think? The Black Panther Party represents Ujamaa meaning brotherhood in Swahili, and cooperative economics for the fourth day of Kwanzaa. The Black Panther Party provided over 60 programs such as free breakfast for children, free commissary for prisioners, sickle cell anemia research, nutritional classes, free housing cooperative program, free dental program, community health clinics, and police patrols. This was considered a threat for people full of haterade and in 1982 the Black Panther Party ended due to those indivduals.

Having our needs, wants and survival in the hands of individuals full of haterade is harmful to our community because we do not have our own power, police or shelters. So, if big brother wants to abuse power then we do not have anything to fall back on unlike other communities. However, it is not too late. We can thrive together by cleaning up our neighborhood, learning our history, creating programs and businesses, protecting each other, and standing up for our brothers and sisters.

Suporting black businesses is important, but what about your own business? What legacy do you want to leave behind for the children and community?

Are you a Negative Nancy towards your own community? Stop sounding like a broken record by repeating purposeful negative connotations like, 'black people cannot stick together" and "Hip Hop is dead." Have you even done research or is your only source of information based on mainstream media? This country has a virus called Haterade and it has been affecting melanated communities since the beginning of time. Just because a smile is present does not make someone your aly. This is why I mentioned in Kujichagulia that we must strengthen our skills and realign with nature in order to see the glitches and viruses in our community. Stop blaming and punishing each other like how they taught you to during slavery. Anyhow, these things are not dead or impossible to reunite. There are many wonderful Black activists, speakers, musicians, actors, presidents, and so forth.

For Ujima, I have gathered a few people that represent collective work and responsibility in our community. These people also symbolize the green candle that reignites us with life and hope.

Rizza Islam is a wonderful speaker who blows your mind with accurate information regarding history, current/future issues, and solutions to this country and the black community.

Tariq Nasheed has documenties and Hidden Colors is one of them. It is about the real and untold history of people of color around the globe (amazon). He also has a podcast, books and a Hidden History Mueseum in Los Angeles, California.

Professor Kaba Hiawatha Kamene is the bestselling author of Honoring Professor William Leo Hansberry (1894-1965): An Intellectual Libation For The Architect Of America's African Studies Department and recognized as an internationally acclaimed, Pan African Historian. Today is Kujichagulia, so we light the red candle to symbolize the blood that pumps life and self-determination through our veins. Umoja reminded us that we must stick together in order to create a bright future, however today we will place all of our focus on ourselves. If we are not properly aligned with our emotions and actions, it opens a door that can cause harm to our community.

New Year Resolution

Most people change their environment, acquaintances and lifestyle during the new year, but that is actually the worst time to do so. Firstly, why would you wait for a specific month to change things that need to be changed right now? Secondly, your mindset is being served on a silver platter. You do not know what the future holds! Your ancestors had to live their day-to-day based on starving, sleeping outside, walking everywhere, fighting and fleeing wild animals, and so on. And your daily concern is if your food is too cold from the microwave.

Nature

Why is your new year resolution during the season of death? No wonder it never comes true. If you truly want to do a new year resolution it should be in spring when nature finishes its rebirth cycle. Death is necessary so don’t get gloomy about it because without it we wouldn’t have space for anything new. You may not be sleeping next to bears at night anymore but you can surely improve other things like your concentration, discernment, observation, balance, temper, empathy, speech, and confidence.

Technology

Put your phone, remote and laptop down. Most people spend hours on social media feeding themselves garbage. There is no reason why you should know more information about celebrities than your own skills in life. Technology is cool but it shouldn’t dictate your entire life. Besides, you should enjoy what’s left of nature and freedom before it’s attempted to be stripped away from us, again.

Welcome to the first day of Kwanzaa. The black candle is lit today to represent unity which brings us back to our main question, what is the change that you want to see in 2024? Do you want more positive music to be released? Do you want to see more healthier people? Do you want families to stay together? Then stop saying idiotic things like hip hop is dead, and relationships are ruined. Being a gossiping Negative Nancy will cause more harm than good to your community! You do not have to get hundreds of people together to change the world, as long as you do your part then you will automatically change the vibration of your community.

Vibrations

This world operates on vibrations. Hence, everyone keeps talking about “vibes.” They are real but are often swept under the rug. What is a vibe exactly?

Have you ever walked into a room and felt that the vibes were off? Even though you can feel the vibe, there is no tangible proof that “the vibes are off” which means that it is not real, but how could that be when you know that there is tension in the room? It is because you are tapping into a spiritual gift. You tap into these gifts all the time, and if you want to be able to survive easier in this world then you need to learn how to identify and use them.

Kwanzaa 2023-24 Introduction

Kwanzaa is a great way to reconnect with your roots. For starters, it introduces you to the African language Swahili which is considered one of the easiest African languages to learn. In addition, Kwanzaa shows you the importance of tradition and how to grow as a community and an individual.

It is time to set your rose-colored glasses down and soak in your true reality! Although “some” racist traditions are outlawed, does not mean that everyone is racial free towards you and your people. Being independent is a must, however it is clear that you are not the only one on this planet. Your environment, friendships, relationships, acquaintances, and occupation are a reflection of you, and your community works in the same way, hence your teacher looking at your class as a whole.

This current society has brainwashed you to think it is normal to avoid only eating fruits and vegetables but to rely on food that is not even real, to lose touch with the traditions and religions of your ancestors, and to belittle your people and yourself. This is a modern day psychological trap that needs to be repaired, but of course your oppressors will not give you this information. If something in your community upsets you then be the change! You do not have to change a specific person because the change starts with you, so what do you want to change in 2024?

How to Fall in Love with Yourself

Are you ready to get cozy with someone this Autumn? Well, you have to fall in love with yourself first but romance should not be your reason for wanting to do so. You are your own best friend because you are the only person who fully understands you. So, have been a good or bad best friend?

1) You must ground yourself and cleanse your energies multiple times a day because there are many energies in the atmosphere; therefore, energies can influence your thoughts and actions. At the minimum, cleanse your energies in the morning and at night, and ask for protection, confidence, and strength.

2) Words are a curse, so you must be cautious about the things that you say. In reality, your mind is not completely you. Your brain is an antenna that grabs onto whatever it experiences so if you focus on negativity it will expand. You can train your mind to think positive if you put in the work. You can achieve this by changing the direction of your thoughts. If a negative thought occurs then do not dive into it, move on and think about something positive or nothing.

3) Are you unhappy with what you see in the mirror? Even if you believe that you look a rotten tomato, there are many people who view you as an attractive person so how come you don't see yourself as such? When you look in the mirror, you need to admire who you are because you are truly unique, and besides who knows if you will reincarnate into a leaf so be grateful that you have freedom. Anyhow, give yourself a compliment when you see yourself. Start by complimenting your outfit, nails, haircut, and style. If you look in the mirror and your mind is telling you that there is nothing to compliment then view yourself as if you were an outsider that finds you alluring, and compliment your features such as your body, eyes, nose, lips etc. Eventually you will start to believe it because you are guiding your thoughts.

4) Are you lonely? Maybe you want someone in your life but if you cannot care for yourself then how can you except others to do the same? The universe amplifies what you believe so you must reshape your thinking or you will never attract people. Also, do you only work and go home? No wonder you are not meeting anyone… Or are you going out and desperately trying to meet someone? Both of those will not work. When you go out, do not have the expectation to meet anyone but it is okay to desire it. Just have fun by yourself and if the time is right then the universe will send an interaction your way.

5) If you want to manifest your dream person then learn how to let go. When you let go, you strengthen the connection even if you have never spoken to that person before. Next, daydream and believe that your crush or your dream person has specific characteristics that you want in a partner then believe that the person is your mate. If your interaction with your crush is not perfect then do not get gloomy because things happen at the right moment. If it is meant to be then it will be. Also, sometimes the universe has something better for you so just vibe and have fun this Libra Season.

Virgo Meets Libra Season

Our favorite nit-picky sign, has been sending you signals throughout its entire season, and I hope that you have been noticing them! The theme of this Virgo Season was for you to recall who you truly are, and I am not talking about your external self. Who are you without caring about society's opinion? and who were you before society influenced it? This version of yourself is what Virgo is preparing you to embrace, polish up, and share with the world.

Things to Remember

We have recently went through a wave of emotions, contemplations, and changes thanks to Venus and Mercury Retrograde. Venus, the planet of love, comes around every 18 months to revamp your values, style, and relationships. Sadly, this current society thrives on the word "comfort" which is the opposite of Earth's energy. Although your mind wanders in Neptune, you live on Earth and must follow its rules. That is why your hobbies, imagination, dream world, and subconscious exists so you can dive into whatever fantasies you desire, and in most times transfer it into your physical world like Spider-Man. This superhero began as a thought that moved to paper then to movies, and eventually to costumes and conversations.

Venus retrograde makes old relationships crumble so new ones can begin. Relationships (platonic and romantic) are meant to give you wisdoms, therefore stop taking them so seriously! You are supposed to be whole, and every relationship is an addition and if subtracted then you should be fine. Of course, it might hurt but it should not be a devastating experience.

Virgo Season was a private and quiet time to work on self, however this Libra season will push to be social and spice your life up like a hot pepper! You will be placed back in the spotlight as you were in Leo season so be prepared.

Virgo Season

What roadblocks are you enduring and how much of it is avoidable? Most of our suffering can go away if we take control of our thoughts and actions. Many people avoid the responsibility of their lives. For example, if you are not feeling well due to eating unhealthy then why are you still eating unhealthy? Virgo represents health and I am confident that many of you experienced or saw people go through health scares and a change of lifestyle regarding food and exercise.

Pay attention to how much salt, sugar, and oil you are eating, or else you will be in the same predicament as your older peers and family members: hurting and taking medication. This does not have to be inevitable if you begin to eat better. Break the cycle.

Are you enjoying the this ride called life? If not, perhaps it is time to start a new routine: go to sleep earlier, eat clean, exercise, read, be more hygienic, work on a hobby, etc.

Libra Season

Venus rules Libra so it should not be hard to guess what this Libra Season will bring. Libra enjoys material possessions and it is okay to indulge in moderation. This would be a great time to change your wardrobe, work on a business, and let go of that toxic relationship. Furthermore, be cautious of haters during this time and do not allow them to take away your shine especially during your glow-up.

This Libra season will be playful and flirty, but how can you date if you are not whole? You have to fall in love with yourself first which will make you feel more complete than any outside relationship. Relationships aside, romance should not be your reason for wanting to become whole. You need to be whole for yourself because you are your own best friend. Imagine taking care of a child or friend, you would want the best for them and make them feel comfortable and that is how you should be taking care of yourself. Polar Opposites in July 2023

Have you recently had your rose colored glasses crushed into pieces? If so, Capricorn has a message for you, and it is to get over it point-blank, and simple. You live on Earth which means that you are to follow its rules. Just because your mind lives in Neptune does not mean that your reality is equivalent. If you pay attention to this planet then you will notice that it frequently changes, hence the number 5.

Have you ever felt so much tension that you could cut it with a knife? Cancer gives you the ability to discern your surroundings, express your emotions, and follow your intuition. The main programs on Earth focus on tangible evidence, but not everything is tangible like the tension in a room.

Cancer Season

The first 3 zodiac signs compose of fire, earth, and air. Thus, introducing Cancer as the water oddball. This Cancer season wants you to reflect on your experiences and wisdoms so you can reshape your relationship with self, others, and the environment.
