My favorite thing about Pinky and the Brain is, as we see in the episode “The Pinky Perspective”, all of Pinky’s non sequiturs and odd pondering make perfect sense to him. He keeps a running commentary in his head and sometimes he forgets that no one else is following his stream of consciousness. Pinky is the autistic mouse icon of our age.

Look, there’s no denying that Homer isn’t the best father, but Peter is an absolutely abhorrent human being.

Winter is an Atlesian elite, likely from the richest, most powerful family in Atlas, unlike Cinder, who was a powerless orphan, poor and enslaved by other Atlas Elites.

Winter is an elite Huntress, unlike Cinder, who wanted to be one as a child but things took another turn and now she hates Huntsmen.

Winter is the Winter Maiden. She was chosen for it, the powers were given to her, as a gift from someone who loved her... unlike Cinder, who killed Amber and took the Fall Maiden powers by force.

Even her name. Cinder chose her surname, Fall, so it would fit her vision of her destiny as the Fall Maiden. Winter was given the name, as if she was destined to become the Winter Maiden.

In Cinder's eyes, Winter is someone who got everything handed to her, who's never suffered. Of course, that isn't true; yes, she is privileged, but she is still, in a different way, an abused kid, who much like Cinder, ran from one abuser to join another one without realizing. The thing is: Winter is now free of that cycle as well because she ended up realizing the kind of person Ironwood was; Cinder hasn't, so she's still stuck.

Damn, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Emerald befriended Winter in Vacuo and she ends up seeing Winter as what she thought Cinder was to her.

To sum up: to Cinder, Winter represents everything she hates, but also, everything she wishes she was.

Look, there is too much damn emotion in Slipping for it not to win. A man who’s snapped. A tirade against society. A slow build to a climax where Billy shows that he’s done trying to play this game. You wanted him to be the villain, so now he is…which makes the ending hit that much harder, since despite everything he still worries about his love interest and he can’t pull the trigger.

It’s not a villain song in the traditional sense; it’s a man driven to his worst impulses by others’ actions, who still has enough decency to have to be pushed over the line.
