One thing I find hilarious about Detective Conan’s english manga (Case Closed) is that they’re fine with brutal murder, panty shots, smoking, and terrorist activity, but they tried to draw the line at alcohol based code names.

Probability/Possibility

With a new (apparently canon) One Piece movie coming out, has anyone else thought about the possibility that Shanks may not have as big a part as we’re hoping?? 

Expectation: *Shanks actually showing up and being a part of the story*

Possibility: *Shanks’s only interacts taking place through flashbacks/memories*  After all, it’d be weird if Luffy and Shanks’s reunion happened in a movie outside of the main storyline. ~Animegirl6755

Seeing a neutral character who doesn’t show a lot of emotion, crack a genuine smile or laugh is honestly one of the most heart warming and wholesome things possible! 

I’m seriously crying right now!!! I know he smiles a lot when he’s fighting but that’s not really what comes to mind. Don’t get me wrong, these reactions come at a time where everything is crumbling down around them, but this reactions is genuine enough to show they aren’t hopeless pits of broken spirit and that means a lot. ~Animegirl6755

Once again thinking about Sanji in whole cake/zou. As soon as the threat of Germa and Big Mom was made against his crew, he felt like he had to submit. Because despite leaving at such a young age, the trauma of his family still sits with him and affects him daily, as if it happened yesterday. The might of Germa is still as intimidating to him as if he were still six years old. He doesn’t recognize the strength that both the crew— AND he himself—has when it comes to Germa because thinking of them puts him immediately back into that mindset of being a weak and helpless child.

He was relatively unaffected by Bege’s boasting, aside from the cigarette falling from his mouth.

That is, until Vito leaned over to whisper in his ear about Zeff, too. Which is now another connection to Germa because Zeff, perhaps unknowingly, rescues him from his past. Zeff gives him a loving family and accepts his wild dream to visit the All Blue, and the thought of anything happening to him, especially after already being revealed as a V*nsmoke in front of his nakama, is one too many things to process. You can see his thought process shut down and he goes into fight or flight essentially.

When he is talking to Nami, Chopper, and Brook after talking with Bege, he highlights V*nsmoke as the problem that he needs to sort out, not necessarily Big Mom. And very clearly the Yonkou is objectively the bigger threat here. But in his mind right now, Germa is the bigger problem. It’s “something from his past he thought he’d never have to deal with again.” The thought process of someone so traumatized, when confronted so abruptly and unexpectedly with the source of their trauma, has got to be revolving solely around that.

Then, what he likely sees as his last act of free will is to save his friends by throwing them outside of Bege’s castle. Martyrdom is all he has known, and despite the growth he has experienced in the last two years with the crew, this is what he resorts to when faced with Germa again. Luffy screams at him on the Baratie, “Dying is no way to repay kindness!”

And as heavy as that sentence, that concise and wise lesson, settled on him at that moment two years ago, in the face of Germa, when he feels so intensely threatened and cornered, he feels accepting the invitation alone is his only move. His mother, Reiju, and Zeff all showed their love for him with extreme sacrifice and this is so ingrained in him that it’s all he can do but to mirror it. Because despite his devotion to Luffy and his crew at this point, he still has only known them for 2 years out of his 21-year old life. And everything he knew before meeting Luffy is still what he goes to when faced with what he perceives as such an intense and insurmountable threat.

Fire Force/Soul Eater Theory!

This idea is 100% based on the idea that FF might actually be a prequel to SE. (Which would be the coolest thing Atsushi Ōkubo could ever do!) Based on the ending outcome of Soul Eater.

- Spoilers for both series below - What are the odds, however slim, that the Evangelist is still alive in the Soul Eater series?

The idea of imprisoning the final boss instead of defeating it isn’t new to the verse, considering the ending of Soul Eater. Imprisoning it, leaving it for future generations to handle. I mean, with the Evangelist probably being on par or a little weaker than a Keshin, nothing’s impossible.
