🌀This has certainly been my experience. While I didn’t always know where my artist journey would take me, my intuition told me it was a journey I must take, and that was enough for me. ✨I had so many puzzling mysteries in my life that troubled me and I felt lost on where to start. Hey 👋🏻 there, Yes, it’s been a while….felt frazzled from the seemingly unending pandemic, the death of someone important to me, and then, the horror of the war in Ukraine….you could say that sometimes I am “ slow to react” and then find myself in a general feeling of overwhelm before I realize I need to take a step back and do what it takes to regroup and regain perspective….decide what works for me here, so, that’s what I did. Here’s some of what I’ve been up to and planning behind the scenes: - Making good progress on completing the “ Dancing Gorilla 2” sculpture and documenting that process. 🦍🩰✔️ -Reconnecting with my dream of creating more large scale public versions of my art and doing what it takes to make this happen. 🗿🗽✨💖 -Sharing my love of animal totems and archetypal meanings with you by reading aloud to you passages about specific animals. 🗣🐷🦔🦊🐨🐍🐸 -And of course, 😉sharing entertaining videos of my animal print clothing changes.🐆🦓🦒🦎🐅🐍 BTW: I’ll likely only be posting about 1X/week….as making art trumps posting about art and this may be the frequency that works best for me. 💕When I first began following @bodybyjenny1 on Instagram, it was because her experience as a ballerina & barre teacher interested me & we shared a passion for all things animal print. 🩰What had me in hysterics was the way her beloved pet Cane Corso dog kept photobombing her videos, creating her own drama 🤣🤣🤣 on the floor directly in front of Jenny teaching a class😆 💕It became clear to me that this diva dog needed a tutu & her own ballet dance debut. 🌀The deepest form of memory, the most visceral, is feeling. 🌀People can say all the perfect words and be visually and aesthetically slick, but if your encounter with them leaves you with a feeling of unease, that feeling is what will stick with you. 🌀We’re emotional creatures, and make decisions based on the emotions that we experience, not based on the facts we have in front of us. When we attach an emotion to an idea, we remember it more and also consider it more important than others. 🌀I consider this good news. 🦍OMG 😮I had to redo half of my painting progress shown in my last gorilla painting video because somehow I forgot to stagger the curly fur motif🌀🙄. So, let’s revisit her leg again in today’s reel. 👍🏻 🦍Painting on an uneven 3D surface is rarely without unwanted jigs & jags(& errors🤦🏼‍♀️). So a lot of back & forth is required, going over brushstrokes with different paint colors until I achieve clean, smooth lines. 🦎What kind of animals do you like? I have always been fond of amphibians and reptiles, including dinosaurs.🦖As a child I had a pet crocodile and several chameleons and lizards. On vacations to Mexico and Costa Rica, I felt like I was in paradise, seeing iguanas freely running around everywhere like cats. 💜Chameleons can quickly change color, depending on their mood, health and temperature. When frustrated or angry, they turn brown. When contented, they turn light green. The tri-horned Jackson Chameleon, which is reminiscent of the Triceratops dinosaur, intrigued me😮so, of course I had to make one, or actually three. 🦎 Chameleons actually have a third eye, located on the back of their heads. This eye does not “see” like it’s other two eyes, but is capable of distinguishing light and dark. As an animal totem, chameleons represent clairvoyance & auric sensitivity and symbolize an awakening of your psychic & intuitive abilities. Our auric fields are made up of electromagnetic vibrations. Every time we come in contact with another person, there is an exchange of this energy. As reliable as gravity, always ready to show you the path, the people, the life that is just right👍🏻 for you and the ones that are not👎🏻 🌀Pay attention to how you feel around certain people and in certain situations.
