Xmen, I watched 92' because of 97' and I started out like "man Jubilee calls people 'dweeb' a lot. Kind of annoying and dated."

And by season three I was reinfected with the lingo from my childhood:

So because of 97' i went back and warched Xmen TAS. And shortly into it I kept being like "As soon as I make it through this I can watch Evolution again."

And having just finished Evolution, it is my favorite by far. I hold out hope we can get some more seasons of that one day.

Evolution is the best. I had a smile so much watching that cute little slice of life Xmen show.

Just a heads up and I would just like to add, they might try to fix these types of training errors with Capchas, that's what capcha tests have always been for. Training computers. They put positives that they know are the thing they're asking you to click on and mix in pictures that they haven't trained the machine on. If you can poison the data set by guessing one training picture and give it a false answer - I think that's a duty.

I've told them a panda and a farm truck were thing's they weren't and passed the tests so far. It's a sidequest!

So a free tool called GLAZE has been developed that allows artists to cloak their artwork so it can't be mimicked by AI art tools.

AI art bros are big mad about it.

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.

What is this about the tumblr staff wanting to sell art data to midjourney?

An ex-colleague of mine mentioned yesterday that there may be contacts between Automattic and midjourney in that direction, but nothing is public yet and I don't have any more info. They probably won't have anything specific to share either, since they left the company weeks ago too. That being said:

I have no reason to doubt my ex-coworker word, they are a trustworthy person.

Tumblr's CEO has been absurdly enthusiastic (comically, even) about AI, and is a big fan of LLMs and 'AI' companies.

A deal with midjourney could solve tumblr financial issues (not the same company, but openAi is paying up to 5 million/year to news companies to use their content as training data... tumblr generates several orders of magnitude more content than any newspaper or any media company and it only would need a 20 to 30 million per year deal to be profitable)

So I don't have any extra info yet, but I'm keeping my ears open.

In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)

I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).

Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.

So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.

USAmericans: This pride month, talk to the queer people who actually live in all those bad evil icky red states and find out what it's actually like, how we actually feel about it, and who here is actively fighting against it. No more telling us to "just leave" or reducing us to innocent victims who are "trapped" here. There are so many of us and we live here for so many reasons, none of which should be justified. I recently figured out I may be allergic too foods very common foods.

I think I'm allergic to onions for one. And I looked it up. You can eat enough of an allergen to desensitize yourself to it so you don't go into anaphylactic or get nauseous. But your brain still gets inflamed. Your nervous system still gets inflamed and reacts to the offending substance in your system.

And I'm here to tell you that I can feel like a kid again at near 30. By not eating an allergen for like a week. I was looking up if I was developing dystonia and arthritis. Stuff like that. And if it takes eating only beef and rice for days on end while I figure out what I can and can't eat I'm gonna take it.

But also you don't suddenly accept giving yourselff a pass. Sure, you were basically being posioned.. but why didn't you figure that out earlier? I've put in the work to be gentle with myself. I was under for so long that the first thing was taking a pain killer and realizing I was in pain in the first place. I only found out about that last year.

Then finding out that not everybody is in pain all the time?

And finally eating a bowl of chilli on new years day so seasoned I thought my "desease" was taking a turn for the worse. But was actually also able to feel that chilis presence as I suffered because it inflamed my intestines until it was gone.

I didn't have the puzzle pieces to know before. So many foods have onion, so many of my survival foods have onion. Hotdogs, nuggets, ramen, pizza sauce, all the things I would turn to for quick nutrition were secretly making me feel horrible.

I hope my chronic pain mutuals can find solutions so simple and remember to be gentle with yourselves about it.
