Imam AlShafi’ee said, “Journey to Allah limping and broken and don’t wait for wellness, because waiting for wellness is inability.”
What is the meaning of journey to Allah broken?
It means, for example, that you get up to pray but your prayer is still without focus, you recite the quran but it is a broken recitation far from perfection…
Don’t worry, continue and seek out who will teach you to recite.
You begin to live your life in a way that is pleasing to Allah but at times your soul and desires overpower you…
Continue journeying to Allah and don’t delay. Don’t wait for the right moment to turn towards Allah. The moment your heart is inclined to Allah then go to Him Immediately.
Ibn AlQayyim said, “A person will continue to struggle with obedience until it becomes beloved to them. And so Allah will send angels that will inspire them and push them.
They will awaken him from his sleep for it, and from his gatherings for it. Allah said, “And those who strive in our path, we will certainly guide them to our path.”
Strive. Try. Endure. Persevere. And ask Allah.
However much a person comes closer to Allah they are gifted to experience a sweetness that they taste in their wakefulness, in their sleep and in their food. Until they experience what Allah has promised, “We will give them a beautiful life.”
Oh Allah grant us the sweetness of iman.

Ibn Al-Qayyim rahimahullah wrote:
Do you think the righteous do not commit sins?
They simply hid them and didn’t expose them...
And sought forgiveness for them and did not insist on them...
And admitted to them and did not justify them...
And did goodness after they did wrong..
One of the salaf was asked, “How is the relationship between you and your religion?”
He said, “it is shredded by sins, and I patch it with seeking forgiveness (isitighfār).
How excellent is the question
And how deep is the answer!

Insignificance of this world #2:
Whoever makes the Dunya his ultimate goal will not have any share in the Hereafter:
{But of mankind there are some who say: “Our Lord! Give us (Your Bounties) in this world!” and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter. And of them there are some who say: “Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!”} [Surah al-Baqarah (2): 200-201]
Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen رحمه الله commented on the above Aayaat:
1) People are divided into categories depending upon what they ask from Allaah. Some have praiseworthy goals and higher aims, those who say: {“Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!”}. Then there are those who have reprehensible goals and inferior targets, those who say: {“Our Lord! Give us (Your Bounties) in this world!” and for such there will be no portion in the Hereafter}.
2) From the benefit of these two Aayaat is: There is no blame on a person who seeks the goodness in the world along with the goodness in the Hereafter.
3) Another benefit is: The man is in need of goodness in this world and in the Hereafter.
[From Tafseer of Surah al-Baqarah by Shaikh Ibn al-`Uthaymeen]

The Great Merits of Reciting the Qur’an with Contemplation: ibn al-Qayyim
The great scholar ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah once wrote:
If people only knew the great value of reciting the Qur’an with reflection, then they would devote themselves to it above anything else. For when one recites with contemplation, when he comes across an ayah which contains something needed to rectify his heart, he would repeat that ayah, perhaps as many as one hundred times or even for the entire night! For reciting a single ayah with contemplation and understanding is better, more beneficial for one’s heart, and more likely to bring about an increase in eemaan and tasting the sweetness of the Qur’an than reciting the entire Qur’an without reflection or understanding.
This used to be the practice of the Salaf, that one of them might repeat a single ayah until the morning came. It has also been authentically attributed to the Prophet that he stood in the night prayer until the morning came repeating a single ayah, which was:
If You punish them, then they are Your slaves. And if You forgive them, then You are the Mighty, the Wise. [5:118]
For reciting the Qur’an with contemplation is the very basis of the heart’s rectification.
In this same vein, ibn Mas’ood said, “Do not recite the Qur’an rapidly without pause like the recitation of poetry, and do not stop and pause (between every single ayah) like someone examining and selecting fruit. (Rather) stop when you come to one of its amazements, and let it move your heart, and do not be bothered if you do not reach the end of the surah.”
Aby Ayyub relayed that Abu Hamzah said, “I said to ibn ‘Abbaas, ‘I am very quick in my reading, I read the entire Qur’an in three days.’ He said to me, ‘For me to read a single surah and to contemplate it and recite it at a slow measured pace is more dear to me than to recite the Qur’an as you do.'”
And there are two types of contemplating the Qur’an. 1) Contemplating its contents in order to understand the meanings which your Lord intended, and 2) contemplating those meanings which invite the reader to reflect and ponder them. The first is contemplating over what the Qur’an shows and indicates, while the second is oriented towards what that person needs. The first is contemplating the ayah itself, while the second is contemplating the effects of the ayah on the person.
Along these lines, Allah has revealed the Qur’an for it to be contemplated, pondered over and acted upon, not for it to be merely recited while the people turn away from its meanings. al-Hasan al-Basri said, “The Qur’an was revealed to be acted upon, but these people treat reciting it as the action it requires.”

Easy good deeds...
1. Get a treasure in Jannah. Say:
The Prophet (s) said, “Be frequent in saying ‘There is no might or power except by Allah, (Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh)’ For verily, it is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise.’”
2. Get a palace in Jannah. Say: Surah al-Ikhlas (10 times)
The Prophet (s) said, “Whoever recites Surah al-Ikhlas ten times, Allah will build a palace for him in paradise.” Umar (r) said, “Then we will have many palaces in Jannah?” The Prophet (s) replied, “Allah has even more and better than that.”
3. Landscape Jannah. Say:
The Prophet (s) said, “I met Ibrahim on the Night of Ascension (Al-Isra), and he said to me, ‘O Muhammad, convey my greetings to your Ummah, and tell them that Jannah has a vast plain of pure soil and sweet water. It is a plain levelled land. The plants grow there by uttering: Subhan-Allah, Al-hamdu lillah, La ilaha illallah, and Allahu Akbar.”
The Prophet (s) said, “Whoever says ‘SubhanAllahil ‘adheemi wa bihamdihi’ a tree is planted for him in Paradise.” [
4. Get all your sins forgiven. Say: SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi (100 times)
The Prophet (s) said, “Whoever says, 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.” [
Or say: Astaghfirullahal ladhee laa ilaha illaa huwal Hayyul Qayyoomu wa atoobu ilayh
The Prophet (s) said, "Whoever says أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ (I seek forgiveness from Allah, the One besides whom there is none worthy of worship, the Living, the Sustainer of all, and I repent to him), all his sins will be forgiven, even if he had fled from battle." [Sunan Abi Dawud 1517]
5. Earn a thousand good deeds. Say: SubhanAllah (100 times)
The Prophet (s) said, “Is anyone amongst you powerless to earn one thousand good deeds every day? …. Say tasbeeh one hundred times and one thousand good deeds are recorded and one thousand sins are erased.”
6. Fill the Scales. Say: Alhamdulillah
The Prophet (s) said, “Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Lillah (Praise be to Allah) fills the scale.” [
7. Fill the space between the sky and the earth. Say: Allahu Akbar
The Prophet (s) said, “Allahu Akbar fills what is between the sky and the earth.” [
8. Read the quran as much as you can for the reward is distributed per letter
9. Earn the reward of giving charity. Say: SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Laa ilaha illAllah, Allahu Akbar.
The Prophet (s) said, “In the morning, charity is due from every bone in the body of every one of you. Every utterance of glorification (i.e., saying SubhanAllah) is an act of charity. Every utterance of praise (i.e., saying Alhamdulillah) is an act of charity, every utterance of profession of His Oneness (i.e., saying Laa ilaha illAllah) is an act of charity, every utterance of profession of His Greatness (i.e., saying Allahu Akbar) is an act of charity, enjoining good is an act of charity, forbidding what is disreputable is an act of charity, and two rak'ahs which one prays in the forenoon will suffice.”
10. Earn a mountain of reward. Give a date.
The Prophet (s) said, “If anyone gives as Sadaqa the equivalent of a date from honestly (earning) earned - because Allah accepts only what is pure - the Lord would accept it with His Right Hand, and even if it is a date, it would grow in the Hand of the lord, as one of you fosters his colt, till it becomes bigger than a mountain.”
11. Want to be called from the gates of Jannah? Give a pair.
The Prophet (s) said, “The one who spends a pair in the way of Allah will be summoned from the gates of the Garden and told, 'O slave of Allah, this is good.”
12. Share this khayr
The Prophet (s) said, "Whoever introduces a good practice that is followed after him, will have a reward for that and the equivalent of their reward, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest."

More Astray Than Cattle: Ibn al-Qayyim
Allah presents the following description of the disbelievers by way of comparison in surah al-Furqan:
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are nothing more than like cattle. In fact, they are even more astray from the path. [25:44]
Commenting on this ayah, the great scholar ibn al-Qayyim wrote:
Allah has compared most of mankind to cattle here, and the characteristic that both groups have in common is their lack of accepting the truth and conforming to it.
And He stated that most people are even more astray from the path than cattle. That is because a herder drives the livestock, resulting in them being guided and following the path without deviating to the right or left. However, for most people, despite the messengers calling them and guiding them, they do not respond to the call nor do they adopt their guidance, nor do they even distinguish between what is harmful or beneficial to them. Meanwhile cattle do distinguish between what harms them, such as certain plants and paths which they thus avoid, and what benefits them, which they then take an interest in.
Allah did not make hearts for the cattle which can understand or tongues with which they care speak, but He did give these faculties to these people. But despite this, they do not even take the benefit of the intellects, hearts, tongues, seeing and hearing which Allah made for them. In this way they are even more astray than livestock.
For a person who does not take the guidance to what is right and to the correct path despite someone showing him the way is even more misguided and in an even worse state than a person who did not take the right guidance because they had no one to show them the way.

I LEARNED PATIENCE FROM A SMALL BOY...
Fudayl bin Iyād رحمه الله said:
I learned patience from a small boy. On my way to the Masjid one day, I came across a woman beating her son at home. As he was yelling and screaming, he managed to open the door and flee. So his mother locked the door on him. When I returned from the Masjid, I found the boy after having cried and wept sleeping at the door of his home longing for his mother. So his mother’s heart softened and she opened the door for him. Upon witnessing this, Fudayl bin Iyād cried until his beard became wet with tears, and then he said “Subhān Allāh! If only the servant was to be patient at the door of Allāh, Allāh would surely open it!

Praying at Night When People are Asleep
Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation.
‏ ‏‏ ‘Ali said: The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:
“Verily in Paradise there are chambers, the outside of which may be seen from the inside, and the inside of which may be seen from the outside.”
A Bedouin stood up and said: Who are they for, O Messenger of Allah?
He said: “For those who speak kind words, give food, fast regularly, and pray at night when people are asleep.” Narrated by At-Tirmidhi 1984. Classed as Hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi.

The danger of looking at ḥarām:
“Looking is the essence of most problems that afflict man; for a glance creates a thought, the thought creates an idea, the idea creates a desire, the desire creates a will, then it strengthens until it becomes a strong determination, and then the act occurs — and it must — as long as nothing prevents it. It has been said concerning this: Patience over lowering the gaze is easier than the patience over the pain that follows it.”

🌟 Greeting when entering the Masjid 🌟
🚩 QUESTION: Is it permissible to greet those who are sitting in the Masjid before offering the (2 units for) Tahiyyaatul-Masjid?
📝 SHAIKH IBN BAAZ: ❝Yes, if he entered (the Masjid) and joined the rows, he should say: “السلام عليكم” before he begins the Salaah. He should greet those who are present even if (some of them are) praying. The one who is praying should respond with an indication, signaling with his hand. He should respond with a signal like how the Prophet ﷺ used to do. Then he (the one who entered the Masjid) should say the Takbeer and offer the Tahiyyaatul-Masjid.❞

📑 Note:
🌴Suhayb رضي الله عنه said: I passed by the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ as he was praying. I greeted him with salaam, and he responded with a gesture.

🌴Ibn `Umar رضي الله عنهما said: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ went out to Qubaa’ to offer prayer. The Ansaar came to him and greeted him with Salaam while he was engaged in prayer. I asked Bilaal: “How did you see the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ reply to them when they said Salaam to him and he was still praying?” He replied: “Like this”, and flattened his hand.‖ Ja‘far ibn Awn (one of the sub-narrators) demonstrated by flattening his hand with the palm facing downwards and the back of his hand facing upwards.

“If you want to know where you stand with the love of Allah compared to others, look at the love of the Qur’an in your heart and your pleasure in listening to it being greater than the pleasure of people of entertainment and music when they listen to it. It is well known that whoever loves someone, his words and conversation are the most beloved thing to him.”
