Hadesphone is not Beauty and the Beast. It’s not Catradora. It’s not Entrapdak. It’s not a powerful beautiful complex romance story. Hadesphone is Reylo. The Kissing Booth Fifty Shades of Grey After Hardin Scott style. He kidnapped her, he broke her mother’s heart and spirit, he caused winter. He’s not a bad guy because he’s the god of the underworld. He’s not as bad as Zeus. The God of Dead can be a wonderful title, benevolently dividing living beings from dead souls, punishing those who need punishment. Hades constantly being villainized for that specific reason doesn’t make sense. But, he still sucks because he’s whiny and dangerous, and Persephone did not travel to the underworld by herself. He sucks for different reasons.

Eros and Psyche is Beauty and the Beast. Not Hadesphone. They’re the complex, messy, and gorgeous romance story. They’re an addicting Greek mythology ship. They’re catradora and entrapdak. They’re dynamic, they’re toxic but redemptive. They’re not abusive, they’re magical, they have issues, and they sort it out, they’re a dark but hopeful romance story.

Hades and Persephone is shit. And it’s okay to like shit, I myself enjoy a McDonald’s Fish Filet burger from time to time, many shitty ships are intriguing. But to paint them off as a complicated but loving story- to the point where the general public fuckin forgot how awful Hades was- the constant romanticization and glamorization of Hadesphone (Lore Olympus sure contributed) disappoints me lmao
