especially how your eyes brighten up

my heart starts to feel at ease

once i lay my eyes on you.

i find myself daydreaming about us

and what the future could look like.

that’s when i think to myself,

“how could i have gotten so lucky?”

i continue daydreaming of your touch,

and your skin against mine.

our laughs and voices being the only sound

our ears linger on.

my eyes caught on my phone but catching

you staring at me from the corner of my eye.

i knock myself out of this dreamy state and sigh.

time doesn’t seem to slow down.

as the days pass, the faster the 1st comes.

i look outside my window

with my eyes staring at the plain dark sky,

and suddenly your name comes to mind.

i feel myself become stiff and that’s when

the memories of heartbreak come in.

endless nights crying.

tossing and turning in bed.

me thinking to myself

“when will this pain ever end?”

a tug pulls at the corners of my lips

i’m proud of myself.

i’m proud of myself because even when i thought

i wouldn’t make it through the darkest nights,

i still saw light at the end and carried

a small bit of hope that everything would be alright.

i’ve learned to love and accept what has been

lost.

i’ve made many mistakes but have grown with an

open mind in change.

the drops of water hitting the concrete floor

seems to bring me comfort now a days.

it makes me feel less lonely, and as if

i’m not the only one in a drowsy mood.

i look at the flashing lights in the sky that seem to

appear once every 5 minutes, and that’s when my

mind will begin to think.

i am not the only one admiring this rain

and the comfort it brings me.

i am not the only one crying because

i cant seem to figure my life out.

i am not alone.

someone else is finding comfort with the rain.

there are scars that have been left on my body.

they represent pain,

and the struggle of self love.

these scars might not go away.

these scars will possibly leave a mark on my body.
