Hello again!
I’m doing my masters thesis and yesterday i blazed a post for a questionnaire for people with ADHD, and i got a massive response. way more than i was expecting! thank you!
i made a questionnaire for people <without adhd> so that i could compare the results but because of how massive the response was for the adhd results i need help getting more responses for the non-ADHD questionnaire so that its even.
so if you do NOT have ADHD, please fill out this questionnaire.
what is it for?
my thesis is about making web gui for online encyclopaedias or web articles more adhd friendly by increasing focus and decreasing distractions. i need responses from people without adhd this time to see where exactly the differences lie.
Thank you in advance! i’ll need like 160 respondants to match with its adhd counterpart!

PSA: Don't use Open Office
I keep seeing people recommending Open Office as an alternative to Word, and uh... look, it is, technically, an open source alternative to Word. And it can do a lot of what Word can, genuinely! But it is also an abandoned project that hasn't been updated in nine years, and there's an active fork of it which is still receiving updates, and that fork is called LibreOffice, and it's fantastic.
Seriously, if you think that your choices are either "grit your teeth and pay Microsoft for a subscription" or "support free software but have a kind of subpar office suite experience", I guarantee that it's because you're working with outdated information, or outdated software. Most people I know who have used the latest version of LibreOffice prefer it to Word. I even know a handful of people who prefer it to Scrivener.
Open Office was the original project, and so it has the most name recognition, and as far as I can tell, that's really the only reason people are still recommending it. It's kind of like if people were saying "hey, the iPhone 14 isn't your only smart phone option!" but then were only ever recommending the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an alternative. LibreOffice is literally a version of the same exact program as Open Office that's just newer and better – please don't get locked into using a worse tool just because the updated version of the program has a different name!

The Art of Titus Kaphar
Titus Kaphar was born in 1976 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He currently lives and works between New York and Connecticut, USA. His artworks interact with the history of art by appropriating its styles and mediums. Kaphar cuts, bends, sculpts and mixes the work of Classic and Renaissance painters, creating formal games and new tales between fiction and quotation.

From the history of transgender women
Tumblr media
Ine Harsten writes over at Blusky:
"In light of JKR and my pointing out that we trans women have been on this earth longer than JKR has been, here is a picture that was a frustrating inspiration for us trans girls growing up in the fifties and sixties. The stars at the nightclub La Carrousel in Paris sometime in the mid-fifties, minus perhaps the biggest of them all: Coccinelle, or Jacqueline Charlotte Dufresnoy. Not all of these ladies identified as transgender. Two in the middle definitely did: #4 from the left in the middle row: April Ashley from Liverpool, and the blonde to her right, Bambi, or Marie Pierre Pruvot. Bambi has later described this time in Paris as one where hormones were freely available over the counter at pharmacies, without a prescription. Just to be safe, she used to occasionally consume an entire pack at once, not willing to take any chances. This notion of safe and careful hormone treatment only works until one doesn’t care anymore. Bambi later became a lecturer in the French education system, after completing a thesis at Sorbonne on Marcel Proust. She is eight years older than I am, and lives and is healthy in Paris."
Tumblr media
"Since Coccinelle, or Jacqueline Charlotte Dufresnoy, wasn't included in this group photo from La Carrousel, she deserves a picture too. Here's a studio portrait from sometime in the fifties. Or 'a man in a dress,' as JKR has a way of putting it."
Tumblr media
This version of the photo session is annotated by Marie-Pierre Pruvot.

Reminder from someone with actual literal brain damage from a brain injury to stop fucking using "brain damage" and "brain injuries" as a means of describing someone whose opinions you don't like or deem as stupid.
It's ableist and offensive as fuck, and for some reason a lot of leftist people think it's okay to use. I've seen posts replying to right wing racists calling them "brain damaged if you believe this" and "do you have a brain injury? do you not understand X?". Just now I saw a beautiful post about fat people throughout history that was absolutely ruined by opening with "How do we break it to boomers with actual brain damage and nostalgic brainrot, and the 'tradwife' thirsting Andrew Tate fans..." before continuing to say that fat people existed throughout history.
Brain damage does not make you racist. A brain injury doesn't make you stupid, or fatphobic, or unaware of history and politics. Stop fucking using my disability as a catch all to describe people you think are shitty. Y'all use it like it's a replacement for how people used to use the R-slur, which shows you learned absolutely nothing about why the R-slur was wrong to use and decided to throw in other disabilities instead. Fuck off and stop doing it.
(And don't do it with other disabilities either, because I know y'all do.)
I know a lot of people with brain injuries. They're smart, and funny, and compassionate. They learn about the world and care about social issues and wish they could go to protests if their disability won't allow them to. Are there right wing people with brain injuries? Sure, absolutely. But they are not right wing because they have a brain injury, and using any disability as an insult is still fucking ableist.
Tldr - stop using brain damage and brain injury as an insult. It's ableist and incredibly offensive.
Love, your local brain injured/brain damaged pal

This is in response to me duetting a video on a 'prank' where this woman replaced her family's water with thick water and the whole joke was 'uugh it's so nasty and awful to drink'
I duetted this saying 'hey, don't fucking buy thick water unless you NEED IT or else you are taking away something that someone NEEDS TO GET WATER (thank you for educating us on this @crippled-peeper) and this shithead just cannot grasp the point that not everything is for able bodied people
I mean I'm not even physically disabled and arguing with fuckheads like this is exhausting, I can't IMAGINE the amount of ignorance physically disabled people go through on the daily
I guess my point is please take the time to educate yourself and think about how you see our physically disabled community members, it's easy to educate yourself, it's hard to have ignorance constantly thrown at you
