Like, if Chloe can become "interm Mayor" because she's the daughter of the Mayor, then surely the Mayor's wife can do the same thing? In fact, it makes way more sense if Audrey stages a coup because she's an adult, she's power hungry, she's an adult, she's in Gabriel's inner circle, she's an adult, she's a rich world famous celebrity and staging coups is just something they do now (like Trump), and she's an adult!

It's not even like she's too busy to be a Mayor, because 80% of her screen time is living it up and you know... not working? Also being president certainly didn't stop Trump from running his business

The funniest thing about thomas and co watching the finale and explaining stuffs while they're at it is that they made it worse by a long shot. It's like beating a dead bush with a dead horse while digging their own graves.

Explain that Mari is actually aware that Gabe is Monarch? Doesn't explain why she's going to his house without Chat to beat his ass.

They actually believe that Gabe is a hero? Hooray, so glad they actually believe that the terrorist who has no qualms nor remorse for physically and mentally beating his own son that he enslaved for his own business is a hero.

And that's not including how they don't explain how people become Miraculized despite it not being akumatization, or how Lila isn't affected by the nightmare, or why Gabe unified Tikki and Plagg in Deflagration instead of making the wish despite it doesn't requires him to unify them.

And those were from two episodes alone. Imagine if they had to explain other episodes, like Evolution and Derision. How deep can they dig their own grave?

Humor me for a moment, as I post about something other than Miraculous.

I've been REALLY looking forward to the Netflix live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The original animated series is arguably one of the most narratively complex, imaginatively structured, ambitiously pioneering shows of it's era... as well as being hella entertaining and funny to boot. Surely, after the unmitigated disaster which was the 2010 movie, they couldn't screw this up...

Oh. Well, it's safe to say, they found a way.

Look. No-one LIKES sexism. Just like no decent person likes any kind of prejudice, whether it be against religion, race, sexuality etc.

But by IGNORING THE SUBJECT entirely in a fictional premise, you end up losing a lot of interesting story possibilities. Like, if Sokka isn't 'sexist' like he was in the first season of the show, what exactly is half his character arc? It was all about accepting women as equals and realising they were capable of doing anything men can do... heck, he even fell in love with a warrior woman!

How DARE they try to keep these 'difficult' topics out of shows be fear they might 'offend' anyone. Even if they're portrayed negatively now, apparently to show any character flaw along these kind of prejudicial lines is seen as a no-go area and the subjects aren't even broached. Even if they develop past these unsavory traits later! It's too much, guys.

To me, this is as bad as those modern historical dramas set in the 19th century or before where they pretend slavery was practically non-existent and women could do whatever they wanted to. WRONG. Insultingly so. You can have all the expensive costumes and period detail you like, but if your production is that anachronistic, than my interest level is 0%.

Basically, if they're not willing to take any risks with the material, this sounds like nothing more than a bland approximation of everything that made the cartoon good. I'll probably give it a miss now thanks, unless someone on here can convince me otherwise.

It's not that I'm DESPERATE to be Sokka be rude to the ladies, it's more what the decision to remove that key element of his personality represents and it's something I feel VERY strongly against as a form of patronising and cowardly bowdlerization.

Actually, I'd quite like to see a spin-off where Chloe finds out the truth behind her horrible fate and somehow escapes the confines of her cartoon world to track down one T.ASTRUC in his Zag office to take horrible revenge on him...

Chloe: "You took away my friends, my father, my redemption, my personality, my dignity, my Miraculous, my hotel, BASICALLY MY ENTIRE LIFE. And now, you've forced me to stay abroad with my abusive mother who'll traumatise me every day more and more. Meanwhile, my alleged 'sister' who you invented on the back of a cigarette packet in the men's toilets during writing breaks in S4 because you hate me so much gets to have everything I did before, minus the complexity and purpose that made me so interesting. WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO SAY FOR YOURSELF?!"

T.Astruc: "E-Erm... S-Save the planet? P-Plant more trees? A-Abolish capitalism?"

Chloe: "Hmph!" *Ties him to a chair, and forces him to watch episodes of Zak Storm on an endless loop.*

T.Astruc: "Ppplllease, anything but that! NNNNOOOOO!"

Let's be real, Chloe should've been the next Hawkmoth more than Lila, simply because Chloe has more reasons to terrorize the city.

The whole city was against her. Her parents were against her. She lost her privilege. She lost her hero status, and with the temp heroes are all back, it adds salt on her injuries. She hates both protagonists. And she's more than likely has enough savings to get herself supplies of butterflies and a hiding place, or she can just take one of Audrey's credit card.

Meanwhile, Lila's reason is just lame and petty. She hates Marinette and Ladybug (and Chat Noir as extension, but let's be real, who even cares about him at this point? Because the writers surely don't), she has the truth about Gabe that's more than likely only gonna be used in S7 finale, and...that's about it. She has no reason to terrorize the city other than to bring inconvenience for Ladybug. She couldn't care less about Adrien if it's not to hurt Mari. And she's infamous for bending reality to get everything her way no matter how big of a BS that is.

(Yes yes, i know that Lila is smarter and it would makes more sense for her to be the villain, but if her being smart means turning everyone into amoeba brain, then i reject the idea.)

I guess it's worth a shot to make Butterfly!Chloe AU fic.
