The passage of time can be a funny thing.

As Ladybug touched down onto the roof of the apartment that once belonged to one Wang Fu, she thought of how, for every one thing that withstood the hours, another would inevitably change.

There were the facts of Marinette Dupain-Cheng’s life that even passing years couldn’t seem to touch: akumas, for one, rampant and undeterred in the onslaught to claim what Hawkmoth wanted but could never be allowed to have; just as there was the presence of Chat Noir only one step behind, landing in a crouch at her side with a smile made of sunbeams. The rooftops they haunted to keep Paris safe remained more or less unchanged, as did the weight that never left Ladybug’s tired shoulders, and the deepening cracks in a heart that loved too much and too many. There were designs in need of sewing and stacks of homework to get through and secrets to keep, and only so many hours in the day. 

But when Ladybug looked back on the year that had passed, it felt like everything had changed. That too much had. 

Over the summer, Marinette had turned sixteen. She had a red-spotted box buried in her room that carried more responsibility than she knew what to do with. She was split down the middle and slowly coming apart at the seams.

Ladybug takes a deep breath in through her nose, holding it a moment before letting it go. She’d fix it. She always did.

You know the whole reason why I haven’t left Tumblr after all these years is because this site is so introvert friendly.

I don’t have the attention span or much less the strength to keep up with Discord conventions (bc apparently fandom is more in Discord these days?? I am not a talkative person to even take part in a group chat *shivers*) or follow with whatever’s going down on Twitter.

DQXI: Fanwork Fa-La-La Event

December 15 — January 15

A little event to try and breathe a little life back into our fandom! More information below.

This past summer, we were seeing a TON of interaction with all kinds of fanwork, art and gif sets were getting shared left and right, people were leaving wonderful comments in the notes, and fic authors were seeing comment after comment pouring in on oneshots and longfic alike.

But starting in August, these notes and stats started to drop off. Notes dropped from hundreds to tens, and comments went from a steady stream to a barely-there trickle.

Lots of us content creators have been struggling with this sudden lack of feedback and interaction. Of course we love making these things just for the sake of making, but when we see five notes on a drawing that took us hours, or we get one comment on a chapter that took days, it’s a little disheartening.

Starting December 15 and stretching to January 15, (or before or after, there’s no due date on interaction!!)

Pick a an author, an artist, or just go crazy in our favorite ship tag and revisit our favorites or find new ones, and try to leave a little love for the creators. Be it a secretive little anon <3 or a three-page essay in the notes or comment box, whatever you want to do! Share this around and encourage others to join in!

Readers share recommendations for your favorite fics, authors and artists share the comments that make you smile or laugh the most!

This is about getting everyone active in fandom together again, and however you want or are able to contribute is welcome.
