Noodle Shirt is going to print the artwork at the correct sizes so that I can transfer them to the Perspex (after removing the current artwork). This will save me some money and stop me wasting the Perspex, if that makes sense.
So I ordered some new marquees from Noodle Shirt.
Unfortunately, in keeping with a poor week of focus, I managed to get the sessions switched around, so I now have this…
Sigh.
Meanwhile, @alexr-fightgames I know you liked seeing Australian levers/sticks, how do you feel about this Australian Street Fighter marquee?

Whoa! An Australian Street Fighter 1 cabinet licenced to Leisure & Allied Industries. I’ve never seen one of these before, let alone seen one for sale. Just look at it!

Yes. I’m not sure what form this will take just yet, but I am seriously considering getting a DarkSoft kit for CPS2.
I know I’ve been quiet in recent times, but things have been happening behind the scenes. I picked up this cabinet a couple of days ago. I now have enough of a collection in this city to get things well set-up. The next job is to sort that garage, get some marquees printed, and get some more PCBs. I’ll post updates as I go.

My newest pickup, complete with new old stock control panel overlay. Now to get a Raiden board and marquee to put it in.

I've been thinking of making an arcade cabinet or handheld device using a raspberry pi for my capstone project. Any advice?
Keep the control layout simple, and dedicate it to either horizontal games or vertical games based on your monitor rotation. Basically, don’t try to make a cabinet that will do everything, as it will be a monstrosity.
If you’re going vertical, you don’t need to many buttons as most games don’t use them. For fighting games you’ll need more buttons, so I’d allow for that on a horizontal cabinet.
I’d personally keep a spinner off, and just do a dedicated cabinet for spinner games.
That’s just me though, I realise having multiple cabinets may not be possible due to space. But perfect world, that’s how I’d like to see it.
Regarding the Raspberry Pi itself, I’ve never actually used one so it’s hard for me to give good advice there. Just make sure the one you get is powerful enough to run the types of games you want to play.

I picked up this Hankin cocktail cabinet a few weeks ago. The only thing I’ve had to do to it is replace the buttons.
Hankin are kind of the Rolls Royce of Australian cocktail cabinets, so I’m pretty happy with it.
