The Red Plague: a compendium of personal headcanons.

Duration of Lucio’s illness: one year total

Warning signs: increase in fatigue, breathing problems, bloody cough, subconjunctival sclera hemorrhage

Minor Symptoms: low-grade fever, night sweats, night terrors, headache, bronchial spasms, minor wheezing, bloody noses

Moderate Symptoms: major fatigue, extreme loss of appetite, dehydration, blurred vision, vertigo, major wheezing, weight loss

Major Symptoms: pulmonary edema, high-grade fever, delirium, migraine, sleep apnea, insomnia, convulsions, eventual comatose state

Medical intervention other than hydration and pain medicine are ineffective. Nearing the end he’s mainly been kept alive through magical means

Julian will try a new treatment but it’s Russian Roulette if it helps or harms

He’s been kept alive longer than any other victim of the plague and as such it can physically manifest in several unique ways, mainly in pale, patchy, veiny skin, akin to a corpse with it’s veins black underneath

The dogs aren’t trained to alert the Staff if he needs help but they do anyway

If left untreated by magic, Lucio would die in a month after slipping into a nightmare-laced coma while his lungs rotted until non-functional
