Sometime my brain work in mysterious way even I can't understand.

The other day I read a manhwa, Lies become you, and I see this big tiger. I say to myself "that's a big kitty, like the one in Aladdin" . And next think I know I was daydreaming a Aladdin fanfic AU about Jafar/Genie slow burn where, instead of each of them having a lamp, they were force to share the same lamp. And Aladdin can't free Genie because if he does it, Jafar will be free.

It end with a nice guy and reliable Genie with stundere Jafar. With absurd revelation like "Jafar is actually the illegitimate son of the sultan and Jasmine older brother", "the Genie was an human 6000 years ago but was curse by a sorcerer" or "Iago is the next royal vizier and is damn good as his job".

I don't understand how my brain go to point A to point B. There is a total leap of logic.

I suppose it will go away in a few day now I write about it. It worked for the Palpatine/Sy Snootles a few year back.

While reading some Star wars prequel trilogy fanfictions I suddenly realise something. Prequel's fans use mando'a in the same way anime's fans use Japanese.

It's fascinating. How many of theses fans where anime's fans before? How many correspondance between the 2 vocabulary can we find?

Let's try with some of the most common terms used.

Mando'a (English) => Japanese used by anime's fans (not always in the original or correct meaning in Japanese but one I have often see the past 20 years.)

ba'buir (grandfather, grandmother)=> Baba (old woman), Jiji (old man), ojii-san (grand father), obaa-san (grand mother). In the two cases the terms are also used to design any old people.

ba'vodu (uncle, aunt)=> oji-san (uncle), oba-san (aunt).

beskad/kad (slightly curved, pointed saber of Mandalorian iron/saber, sword) => Katana

buir (parent/father / mother)=> otou-san (father), okaa-san (mother)

cabur (guardian, protector)=> depending of the situation it could be the same think than ba'vodu or buir

copikla (charming, cute (babies and animals - never women unless you want your head ripped off)) => Kawaii or moe except it's totally ok tu used this word for woman.

cyare (beloved, loved, popular) => i know there is one but I can remember it right now. Maybe the habit of people to use the honorific sama for the man or hime for the woman to show the characters are love interest?

di'kut (idiot, useless individual, waste of space) => baka

Gedet'ye (Please)=> Onegaishimasu, onegai

Gev (Stop it!)=>yameru or yamete kudasai

Ka'ra (stars - ancient Mandalorian myth - ruling council of fallen kings) => Kami-sama

kih'vod (little brother/sister ?) =>imouto and otouto

mandokarla (having the "right stuff", showing guts and spirit, the state of being the epitome of Mando virtue) => kakkoii (“good-looking”, “handsome”, “cool in a manly way”, they totally used the 2 terms in the sames way)

mesh'la (beautiful) => bishounen and bishoujo

Me'ven? (Huh? What? ) => nani?

Ne'johaa! (Shut up!) =>urusai ("Noisy", "Loud", "Annoying" or "Fussy". In some context heavily implied they need to just shut up)

Ni ceta (sorry (lit: I kneel) grovelling apology - rare) => sumimasen or gomenasai and other variations

ori'jate/jate (exelent/good) => sugoi

ori'vod (big brother, older brother, special friend) => onii-san, ani-ki, sempai, onee-chan and all the others variations.

osik (dung, shit)=> kuso !

Oya! (Many meanings: literally "Let's hunt!" and also "Stay alive!", but also Hoorah!, "Go you!", "Cheers!" Always positive and triumphant.)=> Yatta!

Re'turcye mhi (Goodbye - lit. "Maybe we'll meet again")=>sayounara

Su cuy'gar (Hello - lit. "You're still alive.") => konichiwa, ohaoyou, kombanwa

verd'ika (private (rank of a soldier)) => kouhai (it's the younger student or less experience worker in a company in the relation sempai/kouhai. The meaning are different but I think it's often used in the same way. With ori'vod used in the place of sempai. )

vod (comrade, "mate", brother, sister) => nakama (especially in the one piece fandom. They probably could make a contest with the star wars fandom to see who will use vod or nakama the most often.)

Vor'e! (Thanks!) => arrigato

I'm pretty sure there is a lot of other exemples. I hope my rambling was not too incomprehensible. My English is not always very good. And my japanese is almost inexistant. But, bloody hell, this think hit me yesterday evening like a train and I need to vent it somewhere to get it out of my head.

Other ideas.

Tech is oblivious of Phee interest. Everybody try to help her and explain the bird and the bee to him. (Even the 7 year old futur doctor Aphra who says she will really prefer explore the sith temple than explaining to him what to do when a woman like you)

Crosshair discover Master Nu use a rifle with a lightsaber as a source energy. It’s the most beautiful thing he as ever see.

Wreker for once is not the biggest clone. The alphas are ridiculously big and Wreker is happy to be the little brother for once.

Hunter discover his parenting instinct with Omega ans Boba. Omega like it. Boba hate it.

Echo had see thing. Disturbing thing. (Nala Se and Bossk trying to discovering if Kaminoan and Trandoshan biologie is compatible kind of thing)

At one point Vos will explain the good news and bad news to Palpatine children.

Chelli Aphra’s Mother, Lona, is suppose to die when she is young. Maybe the bad batch and two jedi can avoid this? 

Omega, Cheli and Boba will discovers the more creepy sith thing like all children in a story. And they will survive and be fine.

So ... I have the book. I just re read the first 4 chapters and they say nothing about travel time (star wars book are very bad for that. Even the more “hard science fiction” ‘s one). But it didn’t look like this theory hold.

 There is a few chapter from Qui Gon perspective. 

Qui Gon is perturbe. A lot. With a lot of doubts and regret.  And finally he speak with Yoda. Yoda tell him The young have won the war. And the narrative made Qui Gon act like a teenager who refuse to admit maybe he made a mistake. Because “written for 12yos” probably. 

In the same time the temple is under a menace (I think it’s the second part of the Xanatos story but I haven't read the books in 20 years.) and Qui Gon is put in charge of the investigation by the council. He even work on the case with Tahl. 

So it’s look more like a conflict between “one of my teenage son run away but I know where he is and I could always take him back” and “My second oldest try to assassinate grandpa Yoda and bomb the house and I don’t know where he is” at the same time. It suck to be Qui Gon. 

You know how Obi-Wan was canonically only on Melida/Daan for a few weeks? And you know how galactic travel times are like. Made up.

What if Qui-Gon turned around the second he made sure Tahl was stable, and was already on his way back to get Obi-Wan when the call came?

(Obviously kicking himself for accepting the decision of a distressed and emotional 13yo in the first place, no matter how panicky Qui-Gon himself was.)

Someone who's actually read the books but is willing to engage with them through the "this was written for 12yos who wanted to read about adventures without adults, and so may not reflect the 'true' events of the timeline" lens please let me know how well or poorly this holds up.

Secret Mission (19 BBY): Jocasta Nu decide to discovers who really commission the clones. Because the whole affair with Sifo-Dyas death is very fishi.

She hire Quinlan Vos and the bad batch (post echo recovery) to help her at the insistance of the council.

The investigation after the discovery of Sifo Dyas ship is a dead end.

Tech and Echo study the money trail with the jedis and they find something linking it to the banking clan and Hego Damask.

They explore his abandoned mentions,  there is a lot of trap but they survive it, and discovers somethings interesting :

They discovers he is a sith

He has a lot of place in his name

A lots of theses places are uncharted or mythical

They found some data about his work who is not banking

They ask Nala Se her professional advice. It's groundbreaking in the studies of biologie and worrying in the lack of hetic (if a kaminoan think their hetic is bad it is very very bad).

Nala Se accept to came with them to studies Plagueis work. She take omega and Two alpha with her.

Jocasta decide to hire some civil archaeologist and professional liberator of ancient wonders  to help with the recovery of everything in Plagueis possession. Phee Genoa (who will flirt with Teck like in canon) and The Aphra couple (with their 7 year old daughter, Chelli, who fast became friend with omega). 

In the travel to the most dangerous place they meet Boba Fett and Bossk. Quinlan and Bossk make a deal and the two bounty hunter joint the mission. Boba and Omega don't stand each over but Bossk and Nala Se force them to work together. (Watch the ship and Chelli. Chelli will go explore against the adult wish. Boba (13) and Omega (12) are force to work together to find her. )

The adults explore all of  Plagueis bases and discovers all his sith plans. It’s worse than they imagine. (And he has stole a lot of cultural important artefact so the archaeologist are furious.) They works generaly as two teams. Quinlan, Teck, Echo, the two Alpha and Nala Se study the experiments. Jocasta, Phee, the Aphra, Hunter, Crosshair and Wrecker study the artefact.

The last data they discovers is the civil name of Plagueis aprentice : Sheev Palpatine (All the other time he is just call Sidious or “the idiot I call apprentice” in his master report.)

Plagueis was a scientist. He take note on everything. It's very detailed. 

All the plans :

The creation of the clone and droid armies. With detail plan for finance and logistic. And contingency plan for the case the droid army goes to the jedi and the clone to the separatist. 

Experiment of mind control with chip in the brain (note to send result to his apprentice.) Nala Se is very disturb because it is so similar to the biochip the client ask them to put in the clone. The Jedi are not hapy with this revelation. Nala Se send a message to her minions in Kamino to look in this potentiel problem.

Experiment to create a sith who is born sith and don't need to fall. Decade of attempt. All fail. He send the mother and the child back after erasing their memory. He had follow the evolution of the childs and report in his notes most of them end in the jedi’s care. He describe his contingency plans to used them. He had use his apprentice as donor . Palpatine is the father of about 20 jedis. Include Obiwan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Cal Kestis.  The hutts were the ones who give the mother to Plagueis.

Detailed plan to use sith magic to force everybody in the galaxie to love him and give him power. (Test non conclusive. his apprentice says the obsessions create in the population will made their (the sith) live a living hell)
