So what happened was, Rey Mysterio exchanged masks with Santos Escobar as a sign of respect and then Rey & LDF rebranded as the LWO, and then eventually Santos turned on Rey and by extension the LWO so he went and got Angel and Humberto from NXT to be his new LDF. There’s probably a lot more to go into detail about that I don’t really know but that’s the broad strokes.
