In a time when I was in my deepest and darkest place, I met Jesus. The world screamed, “You just need to love yourself more”—but that didn’t work. The world made it seem as though all the answers could be found within myself. But how could you fix something that’s broken with something that’s also broken? It was only by God’s love that I could heal and learn what Grace means. Looking inward won’t fix your soul. Only God can do that, and He does—if you ask. His love is transformational and worth the pursuit.
aang got his tattoos before he was 12, before the war — if he wouldnt have mastered airbending by that time already he would have never gotten his arrows. its one part of his culture no one can take away from him but also no one else could have given him those after the war

how love is reborn and loss is transformed in avatar: an atla meta
Every character in Avatar: The Last Airbender, is defined, in some way, by loss. Whether it is through loss of loved ones, loss of childhood and freedom, or loss of culture.
But what is vastly overlooked is how the character’s loses are shown to be reborn or transformed, and how it’s this individual healing and transformation, that ultimately ends the war.
Or, we focus a lot on how they heal the world. Let’s look at how they heal themselves.
For this meta, I’m going to focus on Katara and Sokka.
