can we just talk about how underrated platonic ships are?

you never, ever see people gushing over their platonic ships. romantic ship posts are a dime a dozen, but people never talk about platonic ships. why not?? I can’t be the only one (or one of like two) who thinks platonic is better than romantic any day. so why the lack of platonic posts? why aren’t platonic relationships held at the same esteem of romantic ones?

I want more...

I want stories with more platonic love. I want stories where characters will stand at the edge of the earth and hold hands knowing that they got there together, without kissing at the end. I want characters who will comfort each other with forehead kisses and warm hugs.  I want stories that don’t require great acts of devotion but rather focus on the tiny things that show loving care. I want casual adventures that strengthen bonds. I want characters who are not afraid to show affection through touch, like soothing back rubs and hair brushing. I want characters that don’t see sexual love as the only kind of love. 

I want writers to write characters who are just fine on their own and who don’t need significant others to fulfill them. I want more asexual characters who have great friends and great support systems. I want characters who find fulfillment giving back to their respective worlds without having tragic backstories.
