So I've read a couple of "Alastor decided to be Lucifer's PA post separation" fics where the end goal is RadioApple.

Which brings forth the hilarious idea of that being true in canon.

"I'm sorry, Dad... Sent his boyfriend to come help me?" Charlie asked skeptically.

"Yes. He sends his regards. While he is far too busy to assist in your endeavor directly, he wanted to send along the most reliable and trusted of his support staff."

In this scenario I imagine the breakup was messy and Charlie was told a lot of awful things about her father's new partner by her mother. (Only about half of which were true).

Imagine how LUCIFER would react though!

Let's pretend it's a 'when you meet them you suddenly know' scenario for this.

Some time a few years after Lilith leaves him and he's starting to wallow in self pity a soul mark or whatever appears on him. Suddenly there's renewed hope. He's got a soulmate? Does that mean he's got a chance that life won't be miserable later on??

You can't tell me Lucifer isn't a hopeless romantic who would obsess over this.

He doesn't mind waiting. He's been around since the dawn of time, what's a century or so between soulmates, yeah?

And then he sees Alastor. And Alastor sees him. And Lucifer is so happy he could just about die and Alastor is like "Absolutely not" and refuses to let Lucifer into his five foot personal bubble for the foreseeable future.

Imagine how CRUSHED Lucifer would be. He probably wouldn't cry on Charlie's shoulder right away, because he's got a front he's trying to maintain. But eventually he would and she'd be like "He's just really closed off is all, he'll warm up to you I know it."

Of course Alastor has no idea that by rebuffing him so quickly he's doomed himself into having a very persistent angel dogging his footsteps and doing everything he can to be underfoot and trying to win his favor. Lucifer is nothing if not persistent.

I just read a short RadioApple soulmates AU that got me thinking ...

How would Alastor react to finding out his soulmate was the literal devil?

Did he figure it out in life? Or not until he saw a picture of Lucifer once he was dead? Is that why he wanted to help Charlie with the hotel? Because he thought it'd get him in the sphere of the soulmate he'd never met?

I feel like that "You're much shorter in real life" and "Fuck you" from their first meeting would be more sincere in this premise. But I think Hell's Greatest Dad would probably play out more or less the same anyway since Alastor is still a little shit.

There's lots of potential there.
