"Alyss–" "Is it so wrong that I'd rather get lost in you than relive my nightmares? Dwelling on it won't bring back everyone I've lost--their voices that haunt my dreams, grim dreams that make me think that this is the end and I'm going to join them…and that I'll be alone when I do, and that scares me. So I want to focus on what I can control and what makes me feel happy and whole and able to go on. And that's you."

Hello and welcome, I’m Viking!

This is a fandom blog, and I’m currently mostly yelling about FFXIV, but you’ll also find Dragon Age, BG3, and interactive fiction - mostly Wayfarer. It’s my main blog too, so I’ll yell about personal and random stuff too. Obsessed with wizards, mages, elves, minor and overlooked characters, and apparently pirates.

The fact that Karlach calls herself “momma K” and the fact that when she finds that little hopscotch drawing in the blighted village, she sings the little song and the fact that she has a favorite teddy bear and the fact that any time one of the companions is faced with an impossible choice or adversity, her first reaction is to protect and defend - it just makes me love her more. If you recruit her before Wyll, she immediately forgives him and asks you to let him stay despite him having hunted her for so long. She’s so kind, she’s so fun and she loves with everything she has despite having her heart literally and metaphorically ripped from her chest by someone she cared for. She tells you she loves you, even if you don’t romance her. I fucking love this character and I think about her all the time - about how it’s so easy to be bad and angry and hardened and, while she is very angry, she doesn’t let that stop her from being good or doing what’s right. They didn’t break her, Karlach is indestructible because of the very thing that was stolen from her - her gigantic fucking heart. She’s also incredibly wise and insightful - hearing her opinions on anything never disappoints. She is proof that “good” characters will always be compelling and I love her.

For some absurd reason I never showed off the absolutely gorgeous commission of Ellana and Solas I got from @ashalle-art so I am rectifying that mistake because I don’t know how I didn’t share it immediately

If you are ever so lucky to commission her you absolutely have to do it. It’s so completely worth it.

NATURE'S STRENGTH LIES WITHIN ME

Why do I see so many articles referring to Halsin as a half-orc? He not a half-orc, he just speculated that maybe there was one in previous generations, and given that he’s like 350 it was probably a while ago.

Not that I care whether he’s half orc or 3/4 or whatever I’m just bothered when people fail to pay attention to what’s said explicitly in-game and then throw that info out there for the world.
