My older sister was today’s year old when she found out Green Day’s When September Ends is about Billie Joe Armstrong’s dad dying. We were at Drakes and they have 1-2 tvs playing music videos and it came on. She apparently thought it was about 9/11. Which to her point, the music video does make it seem like that with the war clips in it.

Had a whole laugh about it. Granted, looking back on photos of her as a teenager, I always assumed she was in the alternative scene. At the very least, was an Avril Lavigne skater boi type. But talking to her as an adult, I’ve just been realizing how wrong I was. Not that this was the ah ha moment behind it but still. I say all this cause we’re like 9-10yrs apart in age and I always thought she was cool cause of it. Still do.

(It’s Time For Fire Themed Questions with Julie!) Do you know how to build a campfire? How do you feel about the color orange? Can fire have a shadow?

I know the theory behind it but haven't gone camping in years so my application is very rusty. Like I know what to look for in terms of kindling and the rubbing two sticks together method. I did see a tiktok vid a few days ago where they were suggesting to add a pencil sharpener to a camping kit. That way it can you can shave the metal and make a fire akin to minecraft's flint and iron.

I don't feel too strongly about it. Like it's not my most favorite, but I also don't hate it. Mostly associate it with sunrises despite rarely waking up in time to see it. Appreciate anyone who decides to undertake the process of painting in or replicating it any art forms really.

I thought it did so yea. Think it can have a shadow, not in the typical way of how shadows work. But in how a good chunk of folks think a hotdog's a sandwich.
