So after doing some testing, I figured out the problem with my TS2 wasn't my CC at all.

Wildwood got a spot of the ol' hood corruption. And once I figured that out- and figured out that I did have some very old backups indeed- I was able to use Alt Sim Surgery to get 90% of the sims in the hood backed up.

The bad news: I've still got to rebuild the whole town, and not every sim made it.

The good news: Yovia, Buff Drinklots, Primevere Forester, and 90% of the rest of the kids you know and love are safe.

The even better news: you still have a solid year and a half of gameplay photos before this becomes relevant.

I created a genderbent Strangetown :) I might share it if it’s okay with Meetme2theriver, whose cleaned hood I used as a base. I’m going to share; it should be up tomorrow in the afternoon. Thank you Meetme :3  You can download it here.

Random thoughts : Many of the Strangetown stories are built on sex-based stereotypes, and that’s pretty much why I made this genderbent version. It feels weird to have female Grunts or a male Olive, but it surely twists the story around.

Also the Specters look classy as fuck.

Hey, gang- is there a utility that'll let you look at a whole folder of build/buy CC at a time, and change prices/item categories without having to boot up SimPE for every item? something from pickandmix maybe?

I'm going very slightly mad because I desperately want to sort my entire CC folder, but doing it one item at a time is taking forever

I've done like 200 items out of like 17,000 and at this rate I'll get to play my game sometime in December 2034

so jayce on the simscord recently requested for @lady-moriel's astarion outfit to be converted to the sims 2, and since i've literally never touched bg3 or even heard of it until recently, i decided to do it! i also went ahead and converted @wistfulpoltergeist's morgyn hair to go along with it, since i wasn't a big fan of the existing hair options 😅

preview is ft. @profesionalpartyguest's gorgeous astarion sim! all items are for teen-elder males, and i managed to drag that outfit (don't be fooled, it was a nightmare) down from over 30k polys to just 7k! more info under the cut 👇

Making some light tweaks to @platinumaspiration 's hat defaults to make them fit better in my medieval hood

I think I could find a texture that looks a bit more knit than this- this texture is clearly meant to be woven fabric and this hat is clearly stretchy- but as a hat that a Weird Little Zelda/Fire Emblem Guy might wear, it looks okay enough

Published: 1-24-2024 | Updated: N/A SUMMARY 280+ maxis-matching recolors for the Repository Pack (Simmons, 2023), taken from Sims 2! This collection includes swatches from build mode and neighborhood terrains/deco. They will show up on all objects reposited to the original meshes. When re-organizing my game folders, I decided to divide the recolors/repo’d items for BuggyBooz’s (2012) niches by type….and the “repo pack” was born. It has been a convenient way for me to manage custom content while reducing file sizes and folder bloat. I hope it helps some simmers out there as well – especially fellow build CC hoarders. So I'm continuing the horrid, horrid task of completely remaking my Wildwood CC folder, because I just. could not with the pink flashing and the crashing anymore.

And instead of completely redoing my hair defaults manually, I decided to try @platinumaspiration's clay hair defaults, on the grounds of "fuckit, what's the worst that can happen- I have to get rid of half of them and download ones I like"

and I'm very happy to report that, other than a smattering of too-modern hats, they work really well for my medieval game!

🔬Technical details

CU, TM, AM, and EM are on the same files as AlmightyHat's. Edits I made: got rid of unnecessary blank bump maps, recategorized as underwear-swimwear instead of underwear-sleepwear-swimwear, renamed files for consistency/clarity, tooltipped, changed sortindex numbers, made the repo'd versions.

Everything else is on new files, even Androgyny UF (I tweaked the mesh to straighten up the bindings, then ended up with different meshes for the bindings and the no-bindings versions, both tweaked - just went with fresh files because at that point might as well).
