This short was everything I wanted out of the Wachowski boys’ dynamic. 

Sonic clearly becoming more responsible and less reckless due to having to look after Tails and Knuckles. Him being a good brother and leader, open to finding peaceful solutions to conflict. 

Tails actually behaving like an 8 year old, being childish and scaredm but still trying to help despite his fears. He’s so excited to be included. 

And Knuckles essentially becoming a mama’s boy who takes his errands very seriously, and emulates his brother. He retains his warrior-like mindset, but is starting to let loose and allowing himself to just be a kid. 

I love that these characters are allowed to just, be kids. They’re not just heroes going on an adventure, they’re children going on an errand for their mom. The crew knows their audience very well.

"A bed sounds nice....Been a while since I've been in one of those." Finn nodded. "Well, actually it's been a while since I've slept in a bed, I've sat and laid in one a few times...."

Finn let out a low breath as they started to crawl back towards Ivo. They got within an arms length from him before suddenly jumping towards him and wrapping their arms around him as tight as they could. The tears they were so desperately trying to keep in were now making tiny puddles on the doctors coat.

"I'm sorry....I'm sorry....." Finn muttered over and over again.

A Finn peeks in. "Bruh." Disappears.

Robotnik jumps out of his seat and gives chase, even deploying his drones to locate him.

“God damnit, Finn!”
