I realized a recent sketch I did looked a lot like a capybara. For some reason that compelled me to draw one then I added in a sloth because they are both chill animals that are widely loved. Not sure I like how the background turned out on this one but the animals are the main focus anyway.

This is a panel I made for a client to illustrate a shot story of hers titled "It's So Cute". It's the very first scene of the story that introduces the two main characters Xanathor (on the left) and Amanda (on the right) as well the general setting. Though the client was content with the one panel I plan on creating three-four more to illustrate the rest of the story (which she approves of). In the meantime the story will soon be on Youtube with narration and I will share a link to it as soon as it's posted.

Between my busy work schedule, family vacation, and my laptop being worked on, I haven't been able to work on as much artwork as I would like though I was able to make a neat story panel for a client that I'll be posting soon.  In the meantime, I wanted to create a quick concept sketch of a creature that I plan to include in a future project, specifically the next installation of my Pangea Ultima speculative evolution project.

Wanting to do something with my newest character Celeste the Witch and her familiar Jackie, I was initially going to draw her in several poses but it evolved into her demonstrating her creativity through her magic.  She likes to use her magic broom as an artistic tool, often as a giant paintbrush as shown here though she also can shrink it down to a pencil or stylus pen.  I had a lot of fun with these piece, especially designing the various ideas that appear in Celeste's brush strokes.  In a way, I see her embodying my sense of creativity, always imagining new things that I need to manifest in visual form.

After my Oceans of Europa piece, I wanted to showcase the lifeforms shown in said piece including the ones too small to be seen. Here's what they are in descending order.
Bacterial mites: These soft bodied organisms are the primary grazers of the bacterial colonies that grow around the hydrothermal vents. They are remarkably heat resistant and often move near the mouth of the vents to avoid predators.
Vein swimmers: the primary predators of Bacterial mites, these squid-like organisms live in large colones that construct vein-like structures around hydrothermal vents for protection and insulation. Not as tolerant to extreme heat, the Vein Swimmers construct parts of their veins as far as they can within bacterial colonies then use their grasping tentacles to catch any mites within range. To avoid inbreeding, some pregnant individuals will intentionally get eaten by predators so their eggs will get carried to different vents and either join for form new veins.
Spear slug: despite their name, spear slugs are more similar to lancelets having simple vertebrates. They are the primary predators of Vein swimmers, using their six head appendages to pierce the vein structures in hopes of catching swimmers.
Europan Leviathan: Growing up to 66 cm in total length, Europan Leviathans are not only the largest organisms swimming in Europa's oceans but also the apex predators of their environment. As ambush predators, they generally are slow moving to conserve energy and only move quick enough to catch prey with the aid of their retractable mouth appendages.
A detail to note is that none of these organisms have eyesight and the dark spots you see on them are actually heat sensing organs.

This is the other version of DA user Colinidas's character Priscilla/Queenie and is much closer to his vision.  Here she's more obviously a queen with her crown and robes and I may draw her as a human queen if I feel inspired.  In the meantime, check out his summary for his story Queenie of the lamp to know what these characters are about: https://www.deviantart.com/colinidas/art/Don-Bluth-s-Queenie-Of-The-Lamp-1032080511
Both of these characters belong to Deviantart user Colinidas.

The one exception I have to my no free art rule is if I come across a character or concept that I like enough that I offer to draw it. This was the case with a DA user's Don Bluth story idea "Queenie of the Lamp".  In short summary it's about a selfish medieval queen named Priscilla who gets turned into a genie and is eventually found by a teen girl in the 80s nicknamed Olive who aspires to be a rock star.  She nicknames Priscilla "Queenie" hence the title.  You can read more about it here: https://www.deviantart.com/colinidas/art/Don-Bluth-s-Queenie-Of-The-Lamp-1032080511
When I started started this, there wasn't a clear idea to Queenie's design was like so this is my initial interpretation and I'm finishing up a version that's more what the DA user had envisioned. Being a fan of Don Bluth myself this was a fun exercise in character design.
Priscilla/Queenie and Olive belong to the Deviantart user Colinidas.

I got inspired to create this piece after reading recent articles about Jupiter's moon Europa.  They were mostly talking about how though it produces enough oxygen per day to allow 1 million humans to breath, it may not be enough for life on the moon itself to thrive.  These articles seem to ignore the existence of life on Earth that can survive on little to no oxygen.  These are mainly bacteria but there are animals that have adapted to withstand low oxygen levels, such as icefish and Loricifera, even no oxygen at all such a salmon parasite called Henneguya Salmiinicola.  The organisms in this piece (some not shown due to being microscopic) are inspired by the aforementioned lifeforms and I will dedicate a piece to them to describe them in detail.
A side note, there as also some articles that talked about how Europa may actually not have hydrothermal vents after all.  I'm still holding out hope and we should learn more once NASA's Clipper satellite arrives there.

This is probably my third time drawing Princess Peach as a genie but I wanted to draw her in time for her new game Princess Peach: Showtime!. In the game, she has various transformations to match the play stages she's on and a genie transformation would have been a fun one if there was an Aladdin-theme play in the game.
Princess Peach belongs to Nintendo.

Having drawn them several times now and establishing them as part of my Centauri universe, I figured that the uplifted should have their own height comparison chart. This one was tricker to create due to the sizes of some individuals but I hopefully managed to make it work. As a quick recap, the Uplifted are hybrid animals that possess human level sapience. From left to right are the Dolphopods, Parogions, Great Apes, and Behemoths. They are dressed the way they are because I'm imagining these individuals as political figures at a gathering. A little detail to point out is that the Dolphopods are equipped with hover apparatuses similar to what Baron Vladimir Harkkonnen has in the new Dune movies. This is to justify them hovering around while out of water. I'm not sure if that kind of technology will ever be possible but if it is the Dolphopods would most definitely utilize it.

This is a commission I made for a user on Deviantart. He wanted Emma Frost from the X-Men comics as a genie.  It was fun to do and offered me a little break from a bigger piece I'm working on.

Since I had recently drew him after so long, I figured I'd create a full body piece of my superhero OC Askari. I personally would like to draw him in various poses to showcase his abilities though it would be rather time consuming given how I designed him. I'm a real stickler for getting proportions and details right.

Seeing its Black History Month, I figured it was an opportunity to draw some of my black characters new and old. I included one of my oldest OCs, the hulking superhero Askari, because he was a normal human from the Republic of the Congo who was abducted then experimented on resulting in his current form. It was fun drawing this scene because Askari is normally a very reserved character. He is, however, willing to showcase for he ladies though a little bashful about it. As for the remaining characters, on his right shoulder (from his perspective) is Zakiyah the titular genie from my Zakiyah of the lamp line up, on his left Makeda the warrior queen from my Gladius line up, and in his lower arms the mermaid barista from my recent Celeste the Witch character batch (I'll think of a name for her soon).

Here's another installment of my Pangea Ultima project. I've realized I gave this group of organisms (the Octopods) the same name as an alien species I created for my Centauri universe. I may rename the aliens at some point or scrap them all together depending on how that universe develops. In the meantime, let me describe these guys.
Maize Grove Octopods: As their name suggests, this Octopod species inhabit groves of Maize trees (distant descendants of corn/maize) that grow around rivers that dot the plains. The Maize Grove Octopods evolved long hind legs to travel across the plains to new groves, freeing up the two front pairs for hunting/gathering food as well as climbing. They use Maize trees for food and shelter, preferring the most productive individuals that collect the most rain water for breeding. Given the infrequency of these groves, the Maize Grove Octopods are highly territorial, using bight colors and fore tentacles to intimidate would-be intruders.
This is the last organism for the plains environment so the next installment of this project will be a landscape featuring the next one.

Not too long ago, I did a poll to see which Disney princess people wanted me to draw as a genie. Mulan was the winner (search my previous works) but Anna from Frozen a close second so I decided to do her as well. I also made this as a belated birthday present for a user on Deviantart.
Frozen belongs to Disney.
