If you want (I am curious and eager to know!!)

I’m sure many people are aware of the story of Persephone. From my research of the Eleusinian mysteries, which focus on Persephone and Demeter, this story suggests that there is a life after death, that there is no true death. Also, Persephone eating from the pomegranate indirectly creates the changing of seasons. Which could also be considered a life cycle.

Wild’s middle name Punica is the scientific name for pomegranate. Like the heroes before them, Wild is doomed to the never-ending cycle Demise cursed them to. Eating from the pomegranate is Wild accepting their fate. They are cursed, and will experience life after their death, post-calamity.

That’s the main point but I thought I’d give you some detail shots because I’m really proud of this drawing. This is a completely symbolic piece. Wild is “dead” here, Milo died in the calamity, this is not true to ALUW’s story.

On Wild's dress are lotus buds, On Milo's robes are lotus blossoms. Milo's last name Feran is a derived from the sacred lotus, Nelumbo Nucifera. Milo is derived from lemon.
