You're Just Jealous
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warning: None Pairing: Sideswipe/Sunstreaker Description: Sideswipe argues that Sunstreaker is jealous of seeing Jamie with human mechs. Snippet for Hidden Killer.
@chaos-company angstpril day 24; jelousy
Sideswipe plays video games for an hour before deciding he wants Jamie to join him.
The twins see Dylan talking to Jamie. Sideswipe sees Sunstreaker getting angry. “Ah, I see,” Sideswipe comments, “even while you don’t love Jamie, you’re jealous.” “That makes no sense.” “Yes, it does. You don’t want any new mechs coming into Jamie’s life. She was already friends with the mech Autobots and Cade, so you accepted those mechs being with her-.” “So all the newcomers? Rung has talked to Jamie,” Sunstreaker argues, “I didn’t tell the newcomers to stay away from Jamie. I am not Jealous! Something feels off with this guy. Sorry for trying to protect Jamie! If you pay attention, you’ll see she doesn’t like him being near her!” “That’s her anxiety-.” “Wow, I can’t believe you!” Sunstreaker slaps his brother across the face and walks away. Sideswipe sighs, rubbing his stinging cheek.

Repeated Lecture
Author: Autobot2001 FGenre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warnings; None Pairing: None Description: Yet again, Optimus is lecturing Prowl about overworking.
@whumpril day 24; no time to rest
Prowl struggles to take days off even an hour’s break. Even after being scolded by Optimus. Between being the head of security for the Autobots and N.E.S.T. along with working with the DC police, Prowl can be very busy. Currently, Prowl has chosen to help the D.C. police with three cases, and he has to do background checks for potential new recruits. Twenty background checks need to be finished in three weeks and letters sent out. He’d like the cases closed as soon as possible and criminals arrested. Prowl hasn’t slept in three days. Unlike humans, this isn’t a problem while using his holoform until he hasn’t slept for seven days. Then it’s a problem. Add Prowl hasn’t eaten, which is still energy. This allows the Autobots to use their holoforms continually.
Optimus notices the mech appearing exhausted as he walks into Prowl’s office. Optimus doesn’t question how Prowl can ignore being exhausted, his holoform hungry or bipedal form low on energon. He focuses on the challenge of getting Prowl to take a break. Prowl doesn’t know Optimus is sitting on the chair before the desk
The Autobot leader waits a few minutes before making his presence known. “What?!” Prowl snaps, not taking his eyes off the paperwork. “How frequently have I lectured you about doing better about taking care of yourself?” Hearing Prime’s voice startles Prowl. Optimus needs to be seen as Prowl’s leader, despite their friendship. What he said was disrespectful, but it didn’t bother Optimus like it would other leaders. “I apologize, sir, I—.” “Are you working yourself to exhaustion again? Also, starvation isn’t good for our holoforms. Not eating will also affect your bipedal form,” Optimus sighs, frustrated. “I have no time to rest. There are background checks to complete, letters to send, cases to close.” “You have three weeks to finish background checks and send the letters. The police are also working on the cases. A break won’t result in being behind. What happened to doing better?” Prowl sighs, realizing he will not win this argument. He knows he told Optimus he’d do better. He thought about improving his friendship with Jamie as a way to work less in his office, but he hasn’t. He doesn’t remember when he said he would, but he’s certain it was over a year ago.
While Prowl is also in charge of everyone except for Optimus and the medics’ schedules, Optimus decides to temporarily be in charge of Prowl’s schedule. Prowl is displeased with this but knows it’s pointless to argue. He’s allowed to work until noon. Optimus will be back to ensure he goes to the cafeteria for lunch. The leader leaves the room. Prowl is pissed at the decision even though he knows Optimus is right.

My Love For You
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: Mention of poor mental health Pairing: Drift X Jamie (OC) Description: Drift plans a date night for him and Jamie. His friends are supportive. Drift hopes to remind Jamie she's loved and how much he loves her.
@chaos-company angstpril day 23; swept away @theocxcanonweek; "You're my everything."
Drift knows Jamie’s depression makes Jamie feel unloved. Causing her to feel she doesn’t have friends never mind a mech that loves her romantically. Remembering how great February was reminds him of how complicated Jamie’s mental health is. Drift isn’t sure if reminding Jamie how much he loves her is helpful or would make her negative thinking worse, but he wants to plan a date.
Drift knew the others would be supportive. He laughs hearing Lily tell Sunstreaker they should also go on a date tonight. “Hey, at least we’ll be out of the house,” Lily claims, ‘but Sideswipe won’t be coming with us.” “Hey!” The others laugh, but Drift thinks how Jamie doesn’t realize the friends he has. He hides the sadness with a smile. No one knows how much he’s been faking a smile this week. That the vacation hasn’t been enjoyable. “You’ll be with me,” Crosshairs says, “we’ll watch a movie in the theater room. Drift and Jamie watch movies in the living room on their dates.” “How would you know?” Lily asks, “you spy on them?!” The others laugh while Crosshairs is silent.
Sunstreaker and Lily leave for their date at five. Crosshairs and Sideswipe go watch movies and eat their dinner in the theater room. Using a groundbridge, Cade and Vivian choose to spend the night at their Texas home. Cogman enjoys helping Drift with these dates.
The silver, human-sized butler can see something is troubling Drift, but he doesn’t ask. He suspects Crosshairs will notice and attempt to talk to Drift. He worries Drift is doing what he hates Crosshairs does; refusing to talk about what’s on his mind until he’s angry. Drift and Jamie decide to eat their dinner in the living room. Both having chicken parmesan with a garlic sauce. Drift laughs at how much parmesan cheese Jamie adds.
Drift knew the two wouldn’t be talking while eating. He’s used to watching TV while eating. Drift and Crosshairs spending much time with Jamie partly contribute to the absence of topics to discuss. Drift remembers when the two mechs cannot return to Jamie’s dimension with her, she’d talk about her pets when they return to her dimension, or she returns to theirs. Now she doesn’t do that. Drift thinks. She seldom talks. The mech struggles to not ruin his mood thinking about this.
Once the two are done eating, Drift moves Jamie onto his lap. The smaller femme leans on him. “You remember when I told you I loved you, I said it was instant? You could say I let myself get swept away. Twelve years later and I still love you. You’re my everything. I just wish I could help you better.” Drift hugs Jamie and kisses her forehead. Hoping she’s not thinking negatively. He was hoping she’d respond like she had been doing in February, but isn’t taking it as she doesn’t love him. Drift doesn’t like how Jamie doesn’t always show her love and is afraid to say they are together, but he understands why. What he hates more is knowing humans don’t care like Cybertronians do. Yes, they’re still not perfect, but Drift feels like Cybertronians are more understanding and caring than humans.

Concerning Behavior
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: Talk of poor mental health Pairing: None Description: Jamie's friends worry about her behavior lately
@whumpril day 23, alt 2; brain fog
Crosshairs and Drift are always concerned about Jamie’s mental health, but they’ve noticed the past few days that she’s been forgetting things. Little things, but they know that’s still a concern especially since Jamie struggles with anxiety and depression.
Concerns increase as they watch Jamie play racing with Sideswipe. This may seem like nothing to be concerned about, but when they’ve watched Jamie beat Sideswipe many times. Even Sideswipe and his brother, Sunstreaker can’t believe what happened. Add the three friends watch Jamie go lie on the bed for a nap. “Ok I know it was just one race, but that’s a track she always beats me on,” Sideswipe argues. Sunstreaker elbows his brother, “if you would just think, then you’d know the problem.” “Scrap.” “This has happened before, but it’s not what we want to see,” Drift sighs, “this tells us how bad her depression has gotten.” “Her lack of interest in things and terrible eating habits is hard enough to watch,” Sunstreaker comments. No one wants to bring up Jamie’s desire to be dead. They hate seeing Jamie struggling. Without further words, the twins leave. Sunstreaker waits until the two return to their room to rant. Crosshairs and Drift sit on the couch in silence. Hating how Jamie’s mental health has been a challenge since they met her, but not like the past two years. They hate not knowing what to do to help her.

A Possible Way to Help Jamie
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: Talk of depression Pairing: None Description: The terror twins and Vivian worry about Jamie, and hate there's not much they can do to help Jamie. The twins bring up how they should keep Jamie from napping to help her mental health.
@chaos-company angstpril say 22; drained
The vacation is supposed to be relaxing. While the eight friends got to Cade and Vivian’s house, Jamie has been taking naps. She feels drained hours after waking up and exhausted by eight. Her friends are concerned about how she sleeps twelve hours, yet she still needs a nap by two.
“This isn’t good,” Sideswipe worries, “I hate we can’t do anything.” “We could keep her from napping,” Sunstreaker tells him. “That should be done,” Vivian adds, “I know it sounds like not helping, but —.” “We know you want to help Jamie,” Sunstreaker interrupts, “and I think that does make sense. Even for Cybertronians. You remember, Sideswipe?” “I do, and Ratchet telling us it wasn’t just low energon making us tired. It was also depression from what we dealt with in our lives. The cause of Jamie’s depression differs from the cause of ours. Her situation makes it harder to help, but the napping is something we can work on. A way to help improve her mental well-being.
Despite Crosshairs and Drift’s objections, they acknowledge their friends’ point. This is a way to help Jamie. All six still worry Jamie returning to her dimension will undo any possible improvement. The biggest reason why helping her has been a challenge. They also worry about the thin line between encouraging and causing Jamie to feel forced

Can't Hide The Pain
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warning: None Description: Drift can't hide how much pain he feels seeing Jamie fighting for her life. Snippet from The Nightmare.
@whumpril day 22; stoicism breaks
Crosshairs couldn't find Drift's location, but he knew where he was, knowing Drift  wouldn't go far. He activated his holoform, knowing humans would be  around.
Sure enough, Drift was at the lake—his holoform sitting on the  hood of his vehicle mode. Drift didn't hear Crosshairs park next to him. Crosshairs' holoform stepped out and sat next to Drift's on the  hood of his vehicle mode. Drift was deep in thought to notice.
"Are you all right?" Crosshairs asked after waiting two minutes for Drift to say something.
"I see why you keep your distance from Jamie. The longer I stayed with her, the more terrified I became. I had to get away."
Crosshairs  didn't know what to say. The two sat in silence, watching ducks swim in  the lake. Instead of thinking they had to bring Jamie here like they  were two days ago, they now thought they might not get the chance

His Lie
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warning: None Pairing: None Description: Drift fakes being ok. @chaos-company angstpril day 21; faking a smile
Usually, the time at one of Cade and Vivian’s homes helps Drift relax. He’d still worry about Jamie, but not as he does at the base. While on vacation with friends in Florida, Drift cannot relax. He can’t stop worrying about Jamie. He’s not sure if it’s due to how bad her depression is, watching her lack of interest in anything and terrible eating habits, or he’d be this worried even if she was doing better.
Crosshairs finds Drift sitting on a chair on the deck. Even with Jamie napping, he finds it odd that Drift is out here. He knows he shouldn’t, but he does. “Hey,” Crosshairs gets his attention, “are you ok?” “Yeah,” Drift smiles, “thought I’d sit out here.” “Ok.” Crosshairs goes back into the house, uncertain if he should believe Drift. He can’t believe he’s questioning his friend’s response.

Medical Emergency
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warning: None Pairing: None Description: Lily and Veronica running laps turns into a medical emergency.
@whumpril day 21; "just hold on."
Lily smiles as she runs with her friend, Veronica, around the track at the base. They are running laps equaling one mile. Lily is happy that Veronica comes here on weekends. Veronica still won’t stay the entire weekend even after learning about the Autobots and trusting them, but she thinks Veronica needs more time.
The two run two laps, and Veronica is struggling to breathe. Lily knows not to panic, as she’s seen this happen a few times. Veronica does her best with prevention, but an asthma attack still happens. The two girls are calm until Veronica realizes he doesn’t have her inhaler. “Just hold on.” Lily runs towards the base, knowing it’s better to leave Veronica sitting than have her walk to the medbay. Veronica is mad at herself for forgetting her rescue inhaler. How could she forget after getting dressed to run?
Lily’s rushed entrance into the medbay, out of breath and sweaty, alarms Ratchet. Lily explains what’s happening before Ratchet goes to the supply closet. While no one with asthma can be a soldier, he has decided he needs to be prepared, knowing Veronica has permission to come to the base. He knows she’s careful, but things happen. Ratchet also grabs two bottles of water. He and Lily rush to Veronica.
Ratchet helps Veronica with the rescue inhaler. Veronica is expecting Ratchet to lecture her. “I’m sorry, I-.” “I know you’re careful, but things still happen,” Ratchet assures her, knowing she forgot to put her rescue inhaler in her pocket. A mistake that shouldn’t occur often, but it still happens. Once the medication is working and the femmes drink some water, Lily and Veronica go shower and Ratchet returns to the medbay.

This Shouldn't Have Happened
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warning: None Pairing: None description: Lily struggles to deal with her broken leg. Continued from Febuwhump day 22.
@chaos-company angstpril day 20; broken
Lily wakes up feeling like her left leg weighs more. She sits up, seeing the red cast going up past her knee, remembering what happened. Lily is tempted to let Sunstreaker deal with the Drill Sargent who didn’t listen to her. She knows Lennox will discover what happened and he will deal with it. She’s livid at the Drill Sargent. Lily sees Sunstreaker fell asleep next to her. The papers Ratchet gave him on his chest. Lily moves to her right side, facing Sunstreaker. She smiles, watching him sleep. The room is quiet until Sunstreaker’s phone goes off, startling him awake. “What?!” He says to the person calling. “Who pissed you off now?” Sideswipe asks. Sunstreaker has Sideswipe on speaker phone. Sideswipe hears Lily laugh, “do you want me to get lunch?” Sideswipe asks. “No, we’ll come down.” With that, the call ends. Sunstreaker thinks Sideswipe wanted to talk about something else. Lily already knows Sunstreaker will insist that Lily goes to the cafeteria. The mech is texting on his phone. Lily doesn’t look to see whom Sunstreaker is texting. Once he’s done texting, Sunstreaker helps Lily into the wheelchair.
The sight of Lily in a wheelchair and her leg in a cast alarms Crosshairs, Drift, Lightning, and Sideswipe. The story angers the four of them. “Unbelievable!” Crosshairs says. “I’ve already dealt with it,” The six hear Lennox, “I’m sorry, Lily.” Lennox goes into the cafeteria. Before the friends enter the cafeteria, they hear Lily’s brother, Luke, asking them to wait. Oh shit. Lily worries. Lily tries to get away, but Sunstreaker stops her. She doubts he already talked to Luke. Her anxiety rises hearing confirmation that her parents know what happened. “…it’s ok, Lily,” Luke assures his sister, “they’re angry at the Drill Sargent for not realizing you weren’t supposed to be in that training class.” They all go into the cafeteria.
Drift stays with Lily while the others get lunch. He knows Crosshairs would get his lunch. He’s worried about Lily, who worries that Crosshairs and Drift are neglecting their friend and charge, Jamie.  Lunch is quiet as the friends eat. No one knows what to talk about. Drift suggests taking Lily out to the courtyard before Sunstreaker and Lily leave.
Everyone but Luke goes out into the courtyard. It’s a sunny spring afternoon. They don’t realize Lily is thinking about what she’d be able to do for at least three months. Thinking she’ll be so bored. This leads her to think her parents will make her stay home rather than continue to live at the base. She doubts she’ll be missing school. The twins leave their friends to talk privately.
“Optimus told me what he wants us to do,” Sideswipe tells his brother, “I think Lily will like this.” “It’s the months before she can resume training I’m worried about. I’m sure she’ll be eager to kick your aft during training.” “I wonder if there’s training we can do? Upper body training must be possible. I’ll talk to Jolt and Ratchet.” Sunstreaker didn’t think Sideswipe meant now. He returns to his friends. He knows Crosshairs, Drift, and Lightning will help keep Lily entertained if she can’t do any training.

Two Weeks Apart
Author: Autobto2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: TransformersR Rating: E Warning: None Pairing: None Description: Crosshairs and Drift couldn't go to Jamie to her dimension. They get there two weeks later. Jamie's behavior when they return concerns them.
@whumpril day 20; touch starbed
When Jamie returns to her dimension, efforts are made for Crosshairs and Drift to join her. Considering her desire for the two to join her, their worry for her would increase if they couldn’t go with her. This time, things didn’t work out. Crosshairs and Drift needed to stay in their dimension. Jamie’s mental state has improved, so they aren’t overly concerned. They don’t tell their friends, but they worry about what bullshit would Jamie be dealing with?
Unexpectedly, the two mechs encountered a delay. They still aren’t worried about taking a month to be able to go to Jamie’s dimension. They know Jamie is missing them, but believe she’s ok. After the chaos ended, Prowl gave them a two-week vacation. Then they’ll return to their normal schedule. They can stay in Jamie’s dimension or bring her back to their dimension.
The two walk through the portal into Jamie’s base. They knew she wouldn’t be here and proceed to the house. After years of knowing the setup, they now question why Jamie doesn’t stay in her base.
The back door is always unlocked. The two enter the house and Jamie’s room.
Crosshairs and Drift see Jamie lying on the bed, but she’s not asleep. They are worried about seeing the sadness in her eyes. The two mechs look at each other. Silently saying they need to talk about this later. Drift picks Jamie up and sits on the couch with Jamie on his lap. Crosshairs sits beside him. The two hug her. They’re used to Jamie being quiet, but this silence concerns them. After a few minutes, Crosshairs stands up. Drift isn’t sure what he’s looking to do until Crosshairs nods. Now Drift understands he’s leaving him alone with Jamie. He watches Crosshairs uncloak his bed and lie on it. Not alone, but that’s ok. Drift thinks. Drift hugs Jamie as she leans on him. Within a few minutes, he feels her putting more weight on him. He realizes Jamie has fallen asleep.
Crosshairs watches Drift lie Jamie on the bed, covering her with her red blanket. “I don’t know if this is concerning,” Drift sighs, “she always misses us, but this behavior… I don’t know.” “She’s quiet, but she would still smile. I’m unsure if concern is necessary. All we know is that she misses us. A month from us or any friends showing her love has to be hard. Add who knows what bullshit she dealt with. She’ll like that we have two weeks off. Unless Decepticons attack.” They all lie on the bed. Drift has Jamie close to him. For once Crosshairs isn’t staring at Jamie’s back. They end up falling asleep.

Anxiety
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: None Pairing: None Description: Drift's anxiety about Jamie declining. Continued from Whumpril day 12.
@chaos-company angstpril day 19; trembling
Drift continues to remember the nightmare situation. Soon, sadness turns to anxiety. Crosshairs is alarmed as he now feels Drift trembling. He rubs Drift’s back, hoping to calm him before he has an anxiety attack. He hates that there’s nothing he can say. Jamie has suffered a few moderate flare-ups, but knowing this isn’t the worst Jamie could decline, there’s nothing reassuring Crosshairs can say. His efforts are ineffective as Drift’s breathing speeds up to hyperventilating.
Drift feels dizzy. As if Crosshairs knows, he has Drift sit on the floor by the wall. Crosshairs worries seeing Drift sweating. He’s never seen Drift experience this symptom of an anxiety attack. Drift feels too hot in his clothes. Crosshairs is getting worried that he can’t help Drift calm down. The medics leave the room. Jolt and Ratchet tell Crosshairs to move away from Drift. Crosshairs worries about the medics intervening. Jasmine has Crosshairs sit on the floor. She’s uncertain if she can keep him calm as Crosshairs watches Drift, worried about how hard it is to get him to calm down.
It’s a challenge to get Drift to calm down. This contributes to Crosshairs’ anxiety. Once calm, Drift looks at him. Crosshairs moves beside Drift and hugs him. “Jamie is stable,” Ratchet assures the two, “the decreased heart rate is an issue, but it’s not a sign that she’s declining.” Despite a chance of Jamie declining, the mechs consider this good news.

Hating We Have No Solutions
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: talk of poor mental health Pairing: None Description: Optimus, Ratchet, and Rung talk about their concerns about their three friends.
@chaos-company angstpril day 18, alt 5; mental scars
Ratchet doesn’t notice Optimus and Rung walk into his office as he is filling in the form from Jamie’s visit ten minutes ago, until he finishes filling it out and looks up, seeing the two sitting in front of the desk. The two have identified Jamie’s file on the desk. “Is there a problem?” Ratchet asks. Optimus sighs, “we came to talk about Jamie and her guardians.” This wasn’t routine, but Ratchet doesn’t ask why now. He’s not looking forward to telling the two that the form he filled out was about Jamie’s visit.
Rung mentions Crosshairs requesting an appointment for himself and Drift a month ago and how that went. Ratchet and Optimus are concerned about both Crosshairs and Drift’s behavior. Crosshairs has to be struggling to think he needs to talk to Rung, and it’s unusual for Drift to refuse to discuss with Rung about his mental struggles. It has been centuries, but Drift used to talk to Rung.
Ratchet talks about Jamie’s frequent medbay visits because of hypoglycemia. A sign of how little she’s eating. He tells Optimus and Rung that while Jamie hasn’t lost weight, he’s concerned about Jamie’s nutrient levels. Ratchet mentions he has already talked to Crosshairs and Drift about potentially putting a G-tube in if this continues.
The three worry about their friends’ mental health. Rung mentions how the three have mental scars. “…. things that caused them mental pain. They’re struggling to move on from trauma. Even while Crosshairs and Drift have watched Autobots die in the war, they’re not immune to trauma. With the relationship they have with Jamie, watching her come close to death was more traumatic than watching fellow Autobots die. Not that it’s not upsetting to them.” “We understand,” Optimus assures him, “we know you’d help them if possible.” “The challenge lies in our inability to help Jamie, which hinders our efforts to help Crosshairs and Drift.” “I can’t believe this. Almost twenty-three fragging years, but instead of better, Jamie’s mental health is getting worse. You’d think her being an adult would make it easier to help her, but no!” Ratchet rants. With the conversation angering everybot, the conversation concludes. The three hate that the conversation ends with no solutions.

It's Not a Cold
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: E Warning: None Pairing: None Description: It turns out that Jamie isn't sick with a cold.
@whumpril day 16; coughing fit
Crosshairs and Drift thought Jamie had a cold the past few days. It is the middle of cold and flu season in the U.S. Crosshairs and Drift changed their thoughts to Jamie having something more serious as her cough became more frequent and the sound of her breathing, especially after coughing. With Jamie lying on the couch, Drift listens to her lungs. “Not just a cold,” Drift tells Crosshairs, “this could be a few other ailments. Ratchet can run tests to rule out anything serious.”
While discussing appointments, the three medics are alerted to an emergency. The receptionist treats anyone seeking a medic without an appointment as an emergency. The three are aware they can’t ignore the receptionist’s alert.
Drift explains how he and Crosshairs thought Jamie had a cold, but her coughing and breathing after coughing is a concern. Ratchet tells the two mechs to bring Jamie to an exam room.
Before Drift can lie Jamie down, she has another coughing fit. Jamie’s breathing has the medic concerned once it passes. He sees how lethargic Jamie is. The medic agrees that Jamie doesn’t have a cold or the flu. Ratchet does the typical examination and vitals check. Noting Jamie has a low-grade fever. “It could be pneumonia or bronchitis,” Ratchet informs them, “a chest X-ray will confirm.”
Jamie isn’t comfortable lying on the cold table in only her bra and underwear. “Hold still, just one X-ray,” Ratchet tells her as he lies the protective cover on her.
The three go to the control room. Once Ratchet takes an X-ray, Drift assists Jamie in getting dressed. Ratchet tells the two mechs to take Jamie to the exam room.
Drift lies Jamie on the exam table. Crosshairs still covers Jamie with his green trench coat. Since he was wearing it, the leather isn’t cold.
Ratchet didn’t take long to review the X-ray, but Jamie is asleep upon entering the examination room. “She has bronchitis,” Ratchet tells the two, “no antibiotics will help. A nebulizer and humidifier will. help her symptoms. If she’s up for it, hot showers will also help. The medicine for the nebulizer will help the inflammation.” The two mechs bring Jamie back to their room, having acquired what they need to help Jamie while she recovers from bronchitis.

Reaching His Limit
Author: Autobot2001 Genre: Fanfiction Fandom: Transformers Rating: T Warning: Talk of poor mental health Pairing: None Description: Yet again, Crosshairs' anger results in breaking a glass.
@whumpril day 18; broken glass
The seven friends have been at their friends’ house in Florida for three days. It is saddening to witness Jamie’s continued mental struggle during this vacation. Crosshairs and Drift worry that Jamie’s thoughts have shifted during the vacation. This also occurs at the base. There are no simple solutions to the complicated situation.
Crosshairs and Drift sit at the kitchen island. Drift pouring the contents of one bottle of beer into two glasses. He was expecting Crosshairs to protest even while it is early afternoon. The lack of protest against sharing one bottle seems odd to Drift. Crosshairs likes some Earth beer brands, but he never overdoes it like a few Autobots have. Drift believes that Crosshairs is distracted as he observes his behavior, making it easy to know what's on Crosshairs' mind. Drift hesitates to speak, aware of the predictable outcome of the conversation. They still feel anger about not knowing how to help Jamie, but sadness dominates their emotions. Crosshairs feels the buildup of not talking about what’s been on his mind. His concern for Drift has kept Drift from getting him to talk about what's on his mind. Crosshairs believes there’s no point in talking. Talking doesn’t seem to help much for the two mechs’ mental health when they are reminded that there’s nothing they can do to help Jamie. All they can do is keep her safe and ensure she’s eating. The second task is difficult without applying force. Drift has difficulty ignoring the silence. Seldom does this occur between them unless they are watching TV. This adds to the suspicion of something troubling Crosshairs. What worries Drift is Crosshairs’ lack of communicating what’s on his mind will turn into anger. Drift is concerned that Crosshairs will lash out at Jamie. Consequences will occur if he does the same to others, but the concern is Jamie’s mental health.
“Crosshairs?” “What?!” Drift concludes that the absence of Crosshairs communicating about his thoughts is causing anger. Crosshairs knows Drift will make him talk, but he’s more concerned that he hasn’t talked about what’s on his mind for long and won’t just be yelling at Drift. This is unlike the other times. Crosshairs is uncertain if it’s because of Jamie’s unfavorable behavior. It’s been less favorable than the previous time Crosshairs felt this anger. “You’re concerning me. How long have you been quiet?” “I don’t know, but what’s the point? We’re further reminded of how we can’t help Jamie! I’m sick of seeing her hurt and we can't do anything! Except watch her family treat her like she’s the problem!” Drift failed to realize he should have waited until Crosshairs wasn’t holding the glass, but it was too late. Crosshairs felt a stronger burning sensation with the glass was filled with beer compared to when it was filled with orange juice. The cup contained water when he last did this. That resulted in pain only as Drift tended to the cuts. Drift sighs, getting the capsule with the first aid kit. He knows he’ll be adding to Crosshairs’ pain, but this doesn’t require an injection of local anesthesia. As Drift tended to Crosshairs’ hand, Crosshairs surprised him by cursing in both English and Cybertronian.
Vivian and Cogman heard the commotion. Both think it’s Crosshairs ranting again. They were correct, but that’s not the reason Crosshairs was cursing. “Again?” Cogman asks, “you are using plastic cups from now on.” “Frag off!” Crosshairs yells. “That’s not good,” Vivian worries, “he’s been keeping to himself again.” They understand Crosshairs’ reasoning for choosing that route, but like Drift, they want him to stop. Having his hand taken care of is more painful this time for Crosshairs.
“Ok, you need to relax,” Vivian tells Crosshairs once Drift finishes taking care of his hand, “Jamie is with the others. She’ll be fine.” The two mechs know Vivian will argue with them, and Drift knows Crosshairs still feels anger.
The two opt for sitting in the hot tub. Crosshairs keeps his wrapped hand out of the water. Crosshairs remembers Rung telling him that talking is beneficial, even if the conversation is the same with no solutions. “I’m sorry,” Crosshairs says. “For wh- oh, It’s ok. Well, I dislike it when you keep to yourself. That’s not helpful to anyone, but I know you didn’t mean to yell at me.” Drift sits on Crosshairs’ left side, the one with the unwrapped hand. Crosshairs side hugs his friend. Crosshairs is content with his life. He’d only change the things Jamie struggles with. Everything would be better for her and Drift’s relationship. There’d be less to worry about. Crosshairs wonders if they would have sparkled by now. This thought brings a smile to Crosshairs. Drift thinks Crosshairs is smiling because he’s happy Drift isn’t angry at him. He also smiles as the two relax in the hot tub.
