Another commission. It's funny how no one commissions men for ages then suddenly you have a bunch come alone all at once.
A 1920s vampire detective from a Vampires the Masquerade game. I guess shootouts are easier when you don't have to worry about dodging all the bullets.
Like the below samurai character this was a really good opportunity to strengthen my construction and work on male anatomy. I also spent a lot more time with references, not just for the machine gun but also for the clothing. I often find myself feeling that the clothing I draw doesn't really have much of a sense of depth or mass, so I tried to make sure the outfit had a decent sense of presence with creases that made sense. I think it worked out. Special shout out to that shoe on his left foot which was very stressful and took a lot of reworking to get right.
There's some exaggerated anatomy in there which I kept for dramatic effect but overall I'm really happy.

Back on that commission life. This guy's a Mortal Kombat fan character which is pretty cool!
I've been having a real art funk recently to the point where it was pretty much actual regression. A major life event, new job and working on a game I'm developing basically meant that I hadn't drawn anything significant in MONTHS. Whenever I tried to draw I would have real issues and it was really disheartening.
I realized that when I was learning to draw I started with construction for figures then, when I'd got that figured out, moved on to implementing gesture more in my lines. After a point the construction was so instinctive I could just do gesture and pick up what little construction was needed later.
Unfortunately, as I fell out of practice when I returned to drawing I would instinctively jump straight to gesture but because the construction wasn't there it'd always fall apart or be too tricky. I spent some time studying construction again and I think it really paid off.
I've also been practicing drawing men because a similar thing happened there too.
People liked this guy a lot though, so I'm glad I put the effort in. Especially as I have more male characters coming up in my commission queue!

Another chibi commission via Etsy. A firbolg town guard out on patrol. I kept the relative proportions of the cross bow to the character from the reference and whilst we might think it's excessive, we don't know what kind of things she's dealing with on those dark streets.

I've started doing digital chibis over on my Etsy so here's a Leonin gladiator barbarian. My second gladiator barbarian to date! I had to make the legs a little longer to accommodate the animal legs but I think it still works pretty well

My most recent commission! A Fey Wanderer Ranger which I had to look up because I'm really behind on all the new D&D sub classes.
I've been doing a lot of work with sprites recently so it's been a very long time since I drew something at a sensible resolution. It took me a little while to get back into the swing of things but I'm really happy with this.

The second winner for the raffle I did over on my Twitter back in May, a goblin rogue getting caught making off with two sacks of gold pieces.
I'm happy with how it turned out but looking back I realised that I kind of messed up on the 'caught in a spotlight effect' I wanted to do, so it's not as dramatic as I'd like.

Way back in May I ran a raffle on my Twitter when it hit 200 followers. Due to various reasons I never got around to it, but an AB always does their best to stay good to their word, so here I am in October finally getting around to one of the winners' prize.
The character is a Medusa who runs a research facility as it's director. I don't know if they're cursed with the turning people to stone deal but they always seem cheerful, so if they are they're handling it well.

It's been a while since I've done anything that wasn't for a project I've been working on that's not really ready to be shared right now, but I got to the point where I needed to draw something unrelated to retain my sanity.
This is Rosianna Planpun, an NPC healer from a D&D campaign I ran where the players didn't have a character with healing abilities in the party.
She was a village apothecary who could cast low level healing magic or, in a pinch, hurl potions at the players.

Another paper doll of a character belonging to someone on a Discord I use. I decided to make things more interesting / life more difficult by layering things to give a slight sense of depth. I definitely made mistakes in some places but in others I really like the effect.
I've got a bigger project in mind I want to try out with a similar effect, so hopefully I can put what I've learned from this to good use.

This comission was for a half dragon warlock with a nautical heritage who has a faerie dragon familiar.
There was a lot in this one that isn't stuff I really do (Men! Scales! Horns! Claws! Dragons!) But I'm happy with how it came out overall.

A commission of a Roman gladiator inspired barbarian/fighter. It's a really cool aesthetic and I had a lot of fun doing it. It really pushed me our of my comfort zone in a lot of ways but I'm happy how it turned out!

My latest commission; Violet the human sorceress in both her standard adventuring gear and her formal wear. It's fun to do something like this once in a while and although I'm very happy with how the ball gown turned out the scroll lining around the different panels was something I'll probably not do again soon.

POV: You're just a small, little goblin and will die in one attack. You only have 3hp and will not drop good items. You are level one and do not know why you guard this dungeon.
You are about to be vaporised by a circle of wildfire druid.
A digital commission. I'm really happy with this one. I've struggled for a long time with what I actually want to do with digital art so I had a big ol' think about what I wanted to achieve and the final decision was to really lean into the bright, colourful, brazen possibilities. I'm hoping to become more consistent with practice.

A personal piece, this is a redesign of my eleven cleric / druid Astonaige. His previous aesthetic was a bit 'forest hobo' but since the break I'm the campaign he's settled down and opened a florists.
I wanted to retain his down-to-earth druid vibe which is why I went for the chunky boots and gloves and rolled up sleeves but also wanted to keep his cleric nature obvious hence the vestement esque cloak and giant glowing sword.

If anyone is in need of the stereotypical 'four generals' characters then I offer these guys up as on the house. They've been bouncing around my head as part of a campaign that does not have particularly high odds of ever happening.
Tumblr media
I've been thinking about Armour Astir Advent but since a big part of the game is that you're supposed to come up with the villains, antagonist and setting together with the players these guys existing is a bit contradictory to that. Whoops!
The plot would be that these guys are leading the occupation on your magic rich island nation as part of the imperial expansion of a technologically developed nation. The intention is to take the island's magic for their own with the end result being a fusion of magic and tech.
Tumblr media
Leading the charge would be Alfonse the Lance, head of Imperial Scouting Division IV. The youngest son of a noble house Alfonse was a celebrity for his fencing prowess but has applied his quick wits, keen eye and penchant for risky but decisive action to military ends.
Alfonse has a reputation as a braggart due to his celebrity back in the empire and achievements in leading the initial strikes on the island. His tendancy towards dandyism also rubs others the wrong way but his swordsmanship and prowess for high speed attacks makes up for this.
Tumblr media
Of course, Alfonse's job would have been much harder without support from Felipe the artillery. Leader of Imperial Artillery Division II. A veteran from multiple campaigns Felipe's preferred approach is to saturate any battlefield with ordnance leaving the enemy in tatters.
Gruff and proud, Felipe oversees these strikes from his airship Jacinta which itself is one of the empire's most advanced long range weapons platforms. His ability with a rifle is legendary and he wields a custom, triple barreled anti-astir rifle.
Tumblr media
Maintaining control over the island is Caterina the grapple who commands Imperial territory security force VIII. The only one of the four who is common born, Caterina is also the only one not born in the empire's home nation instead coming from a subjugated territory.
Caterina grew up as part of a group of urchins who robbed and stole to survive. As they grew older the group's activities evolved turned into organised crime with Catherina putting her formidable skill with her fists towards enforcing territory boundaries.
Eventually even the empire's garrison troops knew not to get too involved with the gang activities going on but a series of raids on empire stockpiles led to Caterina's arrest. Thanks to Bernat, who had paid close attention to the criminal empire, Caterina was spared death.
Instead, her abilities to inspire confidence in the rank and file as well as her willingness to go to extreme lengths to hold territory led to Bernat sponsoring her through the empire's military academy.
Tumblr media
Lastly, Bernat the scholar. From the family whose name is synonymous with the technological development of the empire Bernat turned his intellect towards the research of magical energy and it was on his recommendation the island was invaded.
Magic is a force that is in thin supply in the home nation but Bernat is hoping that study of the island will allow him to either change this situation or at the least let him find a way to fully harness it for use throughout the empire.
Tumblr media
Despite the decisive victories of the initial invasion and Caterina's iron grip the island would have been extremely difficult territory to hold were it not for the capitulation of Crown Princess Milyaruu who signed the island's formal declaration of surrender.
With the majority of the royal family killed the princess serves as the island's figurehead. As evidenced by her imperial attire the Crown Princess is firmly under the control of the empire with Caterina maintaining close guard over her.
Tumblr media
There are rumours that Princess Milyaruu is actually an important figure within the island's resistance and has taken part in multiple missions. Some believe the empire has an impersonator, others think the rebel is a fraud. Other theories include magical double or automaton.
The truth is, of course, whichever revelation would cause the biggest shock to your players at the most dramatic moment.
Throughout the campaign which would be focussed on rebellious activity to destabilise the empire the players would continually run into these four. With each consecutive defeat their pride would drive them to take on Bernat's offer of experimental magitech enhancements.
Tumblr media
Each 'enhancement' would drive them further and further away from humanity. Eventually they'd be able to take on airship and Astir (fantasy mecha) by themselves but they'd all become increasingly erratic and driven by revenge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their enhancements would be complementary of their talents but would eventually push into monstrous territory. Alfonse would replace his legs with four artificial boosters, Felipe would become a barely mobile weapons platform, Caterina would sport collosal Astir busting arms.
This would all be driven by Bernat's emotional manipulation as he becomes increasingly obsessed with combining man and machine through magic. His final form would basically be a CPU to allow him to control almost all the island's mechanised forces at once.
As I said, I'll likely never do anything with any of this but if you're looking for a group of villains to prop up your evil emperor or feel like you want to add a bit of organisational structure to whatever tyrannical system your heroes are facing feel free to lift as much or as little from this as you want. If it ever turns into anything fun give me a shout out and let me know, it'll be good to know that my brain gremlins have found a good home.
