Dress To Impress
Loki x Reader
Prompt: Give me one good reason why I should wear a dress
Warning: Mention of body insecurity
A/N: There is mention of the reader trying on a dress towards the beginning. I wrote it as the reader being AFAB but now uses gender neutral pronouns)
This was a terrible idea. You didn’t want to even go to the party, but Natasha insisted on you going with her. Ever since you had joined the Avengers, you hadn’t talked with most of the members. The team of superheroes intimidated you and were way out of your league. You  were sure you didn’t have any similar interests with them, excluding saving the world. The only person that you had enough courage to talk to was Natasha. She had seen you in the practice room working out. Nat had asked you to train with her for the day, and that’s how the two of you became friends.
“Give me one good reason why I should wear a dress?” you asked Natasha. She was currently sitting on your bed, waiting for you to stop hiding in your closet. She was attempting to make you try on dresses for the party.
“Y/n, you promised me that you would come with me to the party. You’ll be fine, just try at least one dress on. If you don’t like it then we can think of something else.” Natasha reassured you. You sighed and grabbed the first dress in the small pile Natasha had created for you. You slipped the dress over your head and asked Natasha to zip up the back for you. Slowly, you walked towards the mirror in your room and took in your appearance.
The dress was beautiful. It was long in length, it fit your body in all of the right places, flowing out slightly at the bottom. The one thing you couldn’t get over was yourself. Even though the dress was the most amazing piece of clothing you had ever worn, you hated how you looked on your body. You normally wore baggy clothing that covered your figure, and wearing a dress that showed off what your body truly looked like made you uncomfortable.
Natasha saw you were getting upset and decided to cut off your depressing thoughts, “Y/n I think you look lovely. If you feel uncomfortable wearing it, then we can get you something else. No matter what you wear, you are going to look stunning.” This comment shocked you, no one had ever said anything positive about your body to you before.
“Thank you so much Natasha, that means a lot to me. You’re a great friend.” You said and turned around to face her, giving her a small smile. You decided it would make you more comfortable wearing dress pants, a nice button up and a jacket. “Okay, time to finish up. Then we can go.” Nat said as she put on her dress. She then helped you style your hair. Once you both were finished you left for the party.
You and Natasha made your way to the lower level of the Avengers tower, you flinched at how loud the event was. People were talking, dancing, drinking, doing everything you never could do. Socializing wasn’t your specialty, you had always relied on one of your friends to introduce you to people and start conversations. The only person that you were friends with was Natasha. Looking over next to your side, you noticed she had snuck off. Of course Natasha would leave you in an attempt to make you talk to people by yourself, what a great friend.
Your situation only got worse after Natasha left you. Now you were at the end of the staircase and some people stopped to glance at you. Your eyes widened as you made your way quickly toward the outside of the dance floor, against the wall. Being the center of attention was not something you wanted. Paranoia started to rush through your brain as you still felt like you were being watched. You glanced around the room and made eye contact with a certain green-eyed god.
Loki stood across the room, leaning up against the wall with a glass in his hand. He was watching you with a smirk on his face. Loki noticed how embarrassed you were as you realized he was looking at you. You looked away from him, not giving him the satisfaction of your embarrassment. The combination of emotions you were experiencing due to the large crowd did not help in your attempt to ground your anxiety.
In the beginning stages of panic, you took a deep breath. Calming yourself down somewhat, you looked back up and noticed Loki making his way over to you. Loki stopped just in front of you, placing his hand on his hip in a taunting manor. “Good evening Y/N. You seem to be enjoying yourself” Loki teased playfully. You rolled your eyes, giving Loki a glance up and down. His hair was slicked back out of his face in the usual style. He was adorned in a greenish-black suit, the fabric shimmered slightly in the dim lighting. He looked magical and handsome and at this point, you realized you were definitely checking him out.
“Well I suppose it could be better. I see Thor is letting you run loose?” You jabbed back at Loki in a playful manner. Loki glanced away from you to his brother. Thor’s drunken laugh emanating from across the room. Loki grimaced at his brother’s loud and obnoxious energy. He returned his gaze back to you, distaste leaving his features. “Would you care for a dance?” Loki asked you, holding out his hand. You blushed, finding Loki’s advancements somewhat of a shock. Sure you thought he was attractive, but you had only ever spoken to him briefly in the past.
Giving Loki the benefit of the doubt, you took his hand and he led you onto the dance floor. The two of you stopped in the center, surrounded by other dancing figures too immersed in the music to pay you any mind. Pressing up against each other, the two of you began your dance. Seeing how comfortable you were with him, Loki smiled down at you. As time passed, the more you and Loki danced together. You continued to talk and never took a break from one another. You found yourself enjoying his company.
Finally you decided to step away from the dance floor,  wanting to get some fresh air. Loki accompanied you as you walked out a door and onto a porch that was attached to the main building. It wasn’t too far, as you were concerned someone would eventually be suspicious of Loki’s disappearance. You were glad you had some time to calm the excitement coursing through your body. Loki stood comfortable next to you, and you welcomed his presence.
He cleared his throat, “Y/N I would like to express my pleasure in your acceptance to dance with me.” He stated. You smiled up at him, “I had a great time Loki.” You left it at that, taking in a breath of fresh air to calm yourself. You enjoyed being with Loki, you didn’t want it to end. You weren’t too oblivious, you had the feeling that Loki had been flirting with you as much as you were with him. However, you weren’t sure if asking him out would be acceptable.
Loki interrupted your train of thought with a question. “Y/N, would you like to join me on a date sometime? I do not lie when I say I am attracted to you and I greatly enjoy being around you.” He said with sincerity that was rare to others. The way he looked down at you made your heart jump in your chest, his dark expression showing a glimmer of hope hidden. You took his hands in yours, closing what little distance there was between the two of you. “I would love to.” You said happily. And with that, Loki leaned in the rest of the way. His lips meant yours and you kissed him softly.

Easter with The Avengers
Avengers x Reader (Platonic)
“Careful!” Bruce warns, watching as two kids both dive towards a bush, crash-landing into it and collapsing in laughter as one of the Barton children runs by and grabs the egg the two were reaching for. The kids soon spring back up and go racing in different directions, scattering across the property as the hunt continues.
Though the Avengers normally assembled to take down harmful regimes, today the heroes and their families have all gathered for a well-earned Easter holiday. You and Peter had volunteered to run the egg hunt. Your recruitment as an Avenger had you staying at the facility and after months of training, you knew the grounds well. Between your awareness of the space and Peter’s dexterity, the two of you had managed to pull off some pretty tricky hiding spots. The eggs had been divided by color to account for the age variety in the children and you find yourself pretty entertained between watching the competition and listening to the adult commentary beside you.
“This is getting boring, let’s each bet on a kid, I think the son of a God has the best chances.” Tony suggests as the event reaches the final drags, the kids searching tirelessly for the last five, well-hidden eggs.
“I don’t think divine power does much for your egg hunt. If anything I would give the Wakandians the advantage, their technology far outranks your American robots.” Thor retorts. “No offense Vision.”
“None taken?”
“They would never cheat.” T’challa declares before Tony attempts to defend his creations from Thor’s dismissal.
Most of the kids had grown frustrated in their search, approaching you or Peter for hints. You remain coy, but have to restrain Peter from giving in to the cute, manipulative expressions from the children. Eventually you narrow down the search area for the remaining eggs in order to expedite the event. You catch grief from Bruce for having the last egg stashed on the roof, but you defend yourself as the building is barely over one story tall.
“There were eggs in taller trees.” You argue as all the children move in to show their parents the bounty they’d retrieved. “Plus no one got hurt from scaling the building.”
He grumbles about the dangers but Natasha soothes him easily, ending the debate.
The eggs get counted and the winners are revealed, the kids being sent in to wash up before dinner.
Tony salutes Steve’s son as he turns to move inside. “Mini-Captain.”
“My kid has a name you know.” Steve says, pointedly.
“Yeah but I’m his cool uncle. I’m the one who he’ll come to so he can steal booze when you’re being a hard ass.” Tony responds.
“And when Morgan is going through something and is looking for actual advice and empathy, she’ll go to-.” Steve begins.
“Me.” Pepper interjects, stepping outside. “Come on, dinner is ready.”
Everyone trickles inside and the meal is a long one, filled with rehashed memories, quick arguments and lots of laughter all around. Being an Avenger is a rough and daunting career, but moments like these make you remember why you love these people. You’re part of this big, strange family and you have so much to fight for. You can’t keep yourself from smiling as you take the evening in. It’s certainly a holiday to remember.
A/N- Whether you celebrate or not I hope everyone is having a safe and happy Sunday!

Burgled
Bucky x Reader A/N: This was inspired by a list of prompts I compiled in 2016. The particular prompt for this was “an elderly person is burgled,” hence the name and me laughing for 1000 years. Set after Endgame. (Also please submit a request if you have one I’m running out of prompts lololol)
You were walking in central park. It was a typical Sunday afternoon, and you had just gotten out of your morning shift. You were on your way to visit the local shawarma place for a quick bite before studying for your finals, when a man dressed in all black went racing past you. The pace of his movement stood out amongst other park-goers relaxing and strolling casually, and you immediately knew something was off about this man, and you began to tentatively trail behind him. The man ran up to an older gentleman sitting on a bench in the distance, snatched whatever circular thing the old man had been holding, and began to make his escape.
“Hey! Give that back!” you hollered after the man, as you picked up the pace and began your pursuit.
He glanced back at you over his shoulder, and quickly redirected out of the park, across the street, and down an alley. Adrenaline pumping, you picked up the pace and began to close the distance between yourself and the thief. Right as you were about to pounce on him, another man steps out from a side street and outstretches his metal arm in the pathway of the thief. You watch as the thief gets clotheslined, and nearly crash into the man’s arm yourself before coming to a sudden stop. The man with the metal arm reaches down and pries the circular bag from the thief, as he looks up at you and thanks you for your efforts.
“I was just doing my best to help that poor old man. Do you know him?” you ask.
“I think most of America knows him,” he replies, and that's when it dawns on you. You’ve seen this man’s face before, but you can’t quite remember where.
“I’m sorry, but do I know you from somewhere? You seem familiar.”
“Right. Unfortunately, I think most of America knows me,” he says, as he begins to walk back in the old man’s direction, leaving the thief where he lay on the ground. You jog to catch up, and keep pace with him.
“What do you mean?” you ask, trying desperately to remember where you know this man from, and then you finally remember where you’ve seen his face. He was all over the news just a few years ago, the Winter Soldier. He was framed for the bombing in Vienna, had a shootout with Captain America, and then went off the radar for while before returning to help save the world in the fight against Thanos - the very fight that saved your life.
“Oh my god. You’re Bucky Barnes!”
“Congrats. Are you going to keep followi-”
“And is that Cap’s shield? In the bag?” you asked excitedly, as you put the pieces together.
“Yes, but could you be a little quie-”
“AND is the old man on the bench Captain fucking America? Did Captain America get burgled?!”
“Yes, but please-” as Bucky begins one final plea for your to lower your voice, so as to not draw attention to himself, he is cut off again, but this time you stand in front of him and stop him in his tracks.
“You saved my life.” You said earnestly.
   “What?”
   “You saved my lif-”
“No I heard you, but I don’t remember ever saving you.”
“I was dusted, or snapped, or whatever by Thanos. I wasn’t coming back, at least not until you all fought him. You’re a hero.” You said quietly. “Thank you.”
Bucky looks up to meet your eyes, and says “I never thought about it like that. I’ve never thought of myself like that,” as he runs a hand through his hair, before sighing to himself and asking,
“Do you want to come meet Steve?”
