Some of my fellow filipino zutara shippers were talking about what if Zuko and Katara are cast-mates but were secretly dating, at first nobody really thought about the possibilities of them being in relationship since everyone knows they hate working with each other (but of course that will eventually change).

Then that’s when I knew I had to do a “Most searches questions interview” wherein they were promoting TLOK by doing interviews since they reprised their roles in some flashback scenes.

Would love to see more of these two in this AU!! 💜

I’ll be back to posting Zutara content on ZK week since I’m going to set up my patreon for some spicy content of my favorite ship (hoping to open it by the end of August??)

Bedtime Stories

I am so excited for the posting to start with the Zutara Big Bang that I made a doodle while waiting, and it got out of hand haha (They’re reading fanfiction together lol) I’m going to use the opportunity to promote the ZUTARA BIG BANG AO3 Collection that’s going to start June 1st at 12am EST! Posting is gonna start then, and while I probably won’t post till I wake up later the next day in my lazy ol’ pacific standard time, I’m sure others will be up and active :) If you’re into Zutara fan fiction, be prepared for a flood of wonderful stories that authors have been working on for months now. I was lucky enough to get to make art for four of them! :) There’s an initial anonymous posting period for the authors, so have fun guessing! Check out the blog @zkbigbang and other hashtags related to the event to be up on all the cool art and stories that’ll be shared. Thank you to the organizers of the event so much for their dedication and tireless effort! <3 Wispy hair credit to @favlie because her art is a constant inspiration and I am definitely aping some of her techniques here.

Sometimes Katara awakens from a dream and finds herself crying. She can never remember the dream. … Sometimes when Zuko wakes up there are tears soaking his pillow.

“The stress of planning a wedding. The chaos of today. Marrying me.”

[ID: A five panel full color digital comic displays Katara and Zuko after their wedding and after all the trials and tribulations they had to endure to get to that point. 

Panel 1: Katara and Zuko are dressed for their wedding in complementary outfits that combine both their cultures (both wear some red and some blue, each also has elements of fur on their garments). Katara’s hair is styled with a pearl and seashell headdress and a gossamer veil, and Zuko’s hair is pulled half up into a topknot, held in place by his Fire Lord crown. Zuko takes Katara’s hand and asks nervously “So, was it worth it?” as Katara looks up at him smiling. They stand in a reception room while the audience can see through open doors behind them to the grand hall where all their loved ones are walking toward them. Sokka, Zuko, and Katara motion to other hotel occupants to follow them out of the building. Swirls of gas float in the background above Suki’s head. 

Panel 3: In a blue color scheme, Katara is turned disdainfully away from Haru, with a mustache, who proudly proposes to Katara on one knee with his hand over his chest and his eyes closed. He is trying to say “Katara will you marry m-” But Katara’s word bubble overlaps his saying “THERE’S A FRICKIN’ BOMB, HARU” 

Panel 4: In a purple color scheme, Katara tearfully shows Zuko her dirty and damaged veil. Zuko holds up half of the veil, looking down to assess the damage. They are both wearing casual tunics, and Zuko’s tunic is open, showing the scar on his abdomen. 

The middle three panels are accompanied by two small line drawings of flustered Zuko and Katara outside of the panels. 

Panel 5: The close up of Katara and Zuko in their wedding outfits shows them from the shoulders up. Zuko is leaning down to rest his forehead gently against Katara’s. Ok listen I know you said that Zutara piece was gonna be your only one for mermay (and yes I would die to see it fully rendered) but have you considered: Zuko and Katara are both mermaids? 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♂️

I actually wanted to do them both as mermaids at first but then I didn't akdhsjkd so here they are!!

I based Zuko's on a sea dragon because dragon and Katara's on a koi fish because Tui and La are koi akdhjskdjkd

Sneak Peek: Your Name AU

“Zuko.”

The voice...it’s familiar. Vaguely. It whispers just at the edge of his consciousness and as soon as his senses have a grasp on it...it slips away again. He sinks further into his pillow, willing sleep to take him back.

“Zuko. Don’t you remember me?”

Katara.

Zuko stares uncomprehendingly at the word, vaguely familiar and painted in thick black ink on the palm of his hand. It hadn’t been there when he went to sleep.
