I'm unfollowing all stranger things tags. Its too much for me. So much hate. People are so mean. I can't do it.

Mostly someone told me to get tf out and it really upset me because I was just trying to understand something.

Reminder that discrediting someone else’s argument isn’t the same as having one

Example of what TO do

Argument: that relationship has x issues/is toxic

Defense(You): No it isn’t/doesn’t! Issues =/= toxic and a strong relationship is able to work through issues/and this is how they can; no relationship is issue free

or

Argument(You): that relationship has x issues/is toxic [If you need to attack the other side, you’ve made yourself argue your own argument as the lesser of two evils. Comment on how your own is good. Use the previous example to defend and otherwise, some people will just ship other stuff. If they’re being chill about it or not targeting it at you, don’t engage. Comforting themself and their fellow shippers about endgame isn’t targeting you unless they call you as a supporter of that argument out negatively specifically or are in your tag]

See? “That argument holds no water” is A LOT better, more respectful, more credible AND intelligent than denial, which just makes it seem like you’re admitting that if their argument were true they would be right. This is for both sides btw.

I think I figured out what is going on in this shipwar(this does not count for everyone but I think for a majority of people it does)

People relate to these characters.

Yes, people see themselves in Mike being oblivious. People see themselves in Will being in love with their best friend. They see themselves in other characters too(there are more shipwars going on but Byler/Mileven is the only one I am aware of)

Its personal.

And that is what makes people understandably so angry and so driven to write all these posts and argue. Because they want to see themselves. They want to see Will confess because they did that too(or they wanted to do that). They want to see Mike and Will get together because that is what they hoped would've happened to them.

And I think other people arguing back is making them angry. Because how dare they say their feelings are wrong?

I think this is what is going on. And I want to say that I understand it. I understand you want your representation. I understand you're upset.

And I ask to all people in the fandom to have respect for eachother once again. Because shipping both parties is not wrong.

And when the ending of season 5 is here, a few people are going to be very upset. We don't know which one, but they are. The ending is going to hit hard, because for some people it is personal.

I honestly don't know what to add to this. Just comment if you think what I am saying is right or wrong and I want to see your views and solutions to this.

I was thinking about the Mind Flayer, because I heard a lot of things about the Mind Flayer being manipulative and stuff.

And I was thinking, in season 2 a part of him possesed Will and in season 3 it was a human goo version that he made of himself, but at the end of season 4 we saw the full Mind Flayer.

What if El and the others have to defeat the full version of the Mind Flayer after defeating the parts of him from the other seasons? Does that make sense?
