The Rites of Passage show is now open @gagosian This groundbreaking show curated by @pejuoshin features the work of 19 contemporary artists with a shared history of migration. My sculpture in the show ‘Rooted (Infinite Source)’ 2023, centres on the source of strength, creativity and power embedded in the physiology and my experiences of womanhood and the ability to connect with a force that ties us all. It was an amazing evening, thank you to all who came out on the night to support. HUGE gratitude to curator @pejuoshin the @gagosian team and to all the ARTISTS who shaped and created this monumental moment. The exhibition is exceptional and truly has to be seen to be felt. The show is free and on till April 29th @gagosian . Open daily 10-6 (except Sundays). 📸 captured beautifully by @seraphinaoriana #ayeshafeisal #ayeshasarthouse #gagosian #migrantstories #contemporaryart #londonartshow #diasporaart #sculpture (at Gagosian, Britannia Street, London) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqBGL_CoCq8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Did you know that it’s #Earth Day today? Did you know that the earth has its own #chakras (or energy centres ) ? These veins of subtle energy create the grid system that transmits frequencies throughout the entire planet — very similar to the energetic network and inner workings of our own human electromagnetic field, meridians and circulatory system. These geometric alignments are believed to also expand and connect to the planets, constellations creating a unified field of energetic layers that comprise the larger planetary body and universal consciousness like a massive interconnected web. Each of the spheres I created in the #GardenofSouvenirs series has its own energy and is symbolic of the various states we experience as a society. The piece in the slide is titled ‘Aum’ ‘Aum’ is a universal sound , a powerful mantra that resonates and generates energy. Through titling the work I wanted to assign to it , a positive affirmation. The colours in the piece correspond to the brow and throat chakra (which deal with clear sight, expression and truth). The works within the series seek to make sense of the shifting times, exploring what is grown and cultivated within our cultural landscape. Can’t think of a better day, to practice mindfulness and think about our contributions to the earth and the collective consciousness. Happy earth day! #ayeshasarthouse #ayeshafeisal #sculpture #artistsoninstagram Aum, 2022 Polyurethane, acrylic and resin 15 2/5 × 15 2/5 × 15 2/5 in 39 × 39 × 39 cm available to purchase through @art_tafeta https://www.instagram.com/p/CcpweqioRqe/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This is the the last week of my show #gardenofsouvenirs @art_tafeta , you have until Friday to catch it! Repost from @sadiesherman.curated using repost_now_app - Ayesha Feisal | Garden of Souvenirs 03 - 25 March 2022   In this exhibition, Ayesha Feisal asks; How do we know when we are at a pivotal moment in time? There have been periods in history where those living through that era may not have realised the impact of that time, however current events would come to be placed firmly in the chronicles of history. The significance is obvious in hindsight but obscured to those living through that period. The 'garden' is a metaphorical setting, where through her sculptural works the artist reflects on society and its current climate. About the Artist Ayesha Feisal is a British/ Sierra Leonean artist who lives and works in London. Within her art, Feisal creates complex, amorous forms, drawing inspiration from the study of behaviour and the mind, whilst exploring the effects of experience.  📷 Aum, 2022 @ayeshasarthouse #ayeshasarthouse #ayeshafeisal #africanart #artcollector #artistsoninstagram #londonartist #sculpture #chakras #energycentres #seeds https://www.instagram.com/p/CbcFsW3Io4P/?utm_medium=tumblr

Foreign Body was the first sculpture I made as part of this current body of work. I had spent time experimenting with various mediums and methods , developing a technical process that allowed me to articulate my thoughts . I would add compounds at various stages of the process causing the materials to mutate, then through, sculpting , manipulation and combining techniques I would develop the structure. I incorporated this process into my practice and developed the work for ‘The Garden of Souvenirs’ series The pieces would go through many stages of evolution (similar to that of the personal journey) whilst evoking a feeling of transcendence. Foreign Body, was exhibited at @royalacademyarts ‘reclaiming the magic’ summer exhibition 21 and I’m pleased to say was acquired by a collector, so if you didn’t get to see the show (which was spectacular✨ so much exciting work👌🏽) sadly you would have missed the chance to see it. You can still catch my current show ‘Garden of Souvenirs’ @art_tafeta Garden of Souvenirs 3rd - 25th March Open: Tuesday - Saturday 12-6pm Tafeta Gallery 91 Great Russell Street London WC1B 3PS #ayeshasarthouse #ayeshafeisal #artcollector #royalacademyofarts #sculpture #arttafeta #artistsoninstagram #londonartist #tbt https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca7TEP1IaKg/?utm_medium=tumblr

My show ‘Garden of Souvenirs’ opened last week. If you missed the opening, you can still head over to @art_tafeta to view. This exhibition continues my exploration of psychological states, environment, and the impact of social condition. Extending further to ask the question ‘how do we know when we are at a pivotal moment in time? What will be our keepsakes from this era and how will future generations look back at this point? Creating the pieces in this body of work, was for me a manifestation and a testament to the idea of transformative potential. The act of layering, manipulation, and the moulding of forms; the use of mediums that mutate, right through to the use of monosyllabic sounds (work titles) which activate energy centres, all allude to this notion. All the works in the show were created over the past year(and into 2022) and are deeply personal response to our current social climate. At the start of the project…versus a week before the opening of your solo show 😄 (will be dropping the details soon so keep a look out) the space in my studio has gotten smaller as my work has expanded and has encroached to the point where this chair is my refuge where I eat , sleep and plan… Phew…almost there…Look forward to sharing what I’ve been working on over the past year #ayeshasarthouse #ayeshafeisal #artistsoninstagram #londonartist #artiststudio https://www.instagram.com/p/CaQDSziI-Wq/?utm_medium=tumblr

I‘m pleased to invite you to this year's Discerning Eye exhibition at Mall Galleries where I will be showing my sculpture ‘Pleiadian Seed’ as one of @adelaidedamoah invited guest artists. 12th - 21st November The 6 selectors for this year's Discerning Eye are : Collectors - Roland Cowan & Tony Humphreys | Critics - Anna Brady & Russell Tovey & Louis Wise | Artists - Peter Brown PNEAC, RP, ROI, RBA, PS & Adelaide Damoah RWA FRSA The @ingdiscerningeye is an educational charity, established in the UK in 1990, to encourage a wider understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and to stimulate debate about the place and purpose of art in our society, and the contribution each one of us can make to its development. The exhibition comprises both publicly submitted works and works independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world: two artists, two collectors and two critics. Each section is hung separately to give each its own distinctive identity. The impression emerges of six small exhibitions within the whole. #ingdiscerningeye #mallgalleries #ayeshafeisal #ayeshasarthouse #adelaidedamoah #artcollector https://www.instagram.com/p/CWGTcisoiaD/?utm_medium=tumblr
