Some Azerbaijani residents of Lachin began returning to their homes and recreate the last photos taken in their home province after 30-year long invasion and ethnic cleansing they have endured at the hand of Armenian armed forces backed by the Russian state.

The night of 25th to 26th February marks the 29th anniversary of the Khojaly Massacre (1992) - the organized, genocidal attack against the Azerbaijani population of Khojaly by the Armenian armed forces (with the ample help from the Russian side) who tortured, raped and killed close to 600 Azerbaijani civilians over the course of a single night. In an interview with Thomas de Waal, the former Armenian president and the active participant of the Khojaly killings - Serzh Sargsyan used the words “teaching the ‘Turks’ to fear the Armenians” in justification of the systematic killing of the elderly, women and children. The survivors of the Khojaly Massacre are still among us and their unheard stories are of the blood-chilling sort. We want #JusticeforKhojaly !

In 2022, Azerbaijan marks the 30th commemoration of massacres in Khojaly where Armenian armed forces with the help and close involvement of the stationed Russian regiment slaughtered 613 civilians, many of whom were women, elderly and children. Many froze to death in this cold February night trying to flee Khojaly towards Ağdam. Victims of Khojaly Massacre never got justice.
We demand JUSTICE FOR KHOJALY!

The first picture was taken in Aghdam, in the aftermath of Khojaly Massacre (February 25-26, 1992) as the surviving relatives of the Khojaly victims are mourning in front of the Aghdam Juma Mosque.

Azerbaijani survivors of the Khojaly Massacre. 1992.
Only a handful of Khojaly's native Azerbaijani inhabitants were able to finish the deadly trek across the mountains in the frozen February night towards Eastern Azerbaijan and escaped the torture, rape and murders at the hand of the Armenian forces.

JUSTICE FOR KHOJALY
In a single night, 613 were tortured and killed, a thousand people still missing. Azerbaijan suffered all alone at the hand of the Armenian and Soviet/Russian terrorists.

Khojaly survivor Mürvət Məmmədov: “The day the Armenians attacked Khojaly was my brother’s birthday. They entered the house. Then, they said: ‘This is a gift from us to you, happy birthday!’ and shot him in the hand. I will never forget this moment.” (x)
