something basic I was thinking about, but what year would you say Under Night In-Birth takes place in? The most basic answer would be that it takes place in "now" so obviously use the release date of the first game, but do you have any other evidence that could point to an idea?

Well, it never gives us an exact answer, but it seems to be fairly modern day, given the existence of cell phones, but it feels slightly more futuristic than 2010. I'm gonna say 2014, for the sake of decicing an actual number. I have no evidence on hand, but that's just my assumption.

Where could you see the UNI story going (if it ever DECIDES TO ACTUALLY MOVE FORWARD!) or at least where would you want it to go? Like what do you want the characters to go through, what kind of developments could you see happening or would want to see? Stuff like that.

Oh, I have a lot of things I'd LOVE to see out of the story. Here are my highlights:

-Figuring out what the heck happened between Hyde and Yuzuriha, and them putting their bad blood aside.

-Tsukuyomi getting her Vessel back and sorting things out with Zohar.

-Hyde's character arc and how he chooses to accept or reject Linne's death wish.

-Hilda lore. I need to know.

How are you with x-over stuff? Like having characters between 2 franchises interact. My last ask had Under Night but are you cool with being asked about crossover interactions?

Me personally? Not exactly. Crossover stuff isn’t my forte.

How much DO you know about the Under Night In-Birth lore? Like did you actually watch all the Chronicles Mode stuff or just look through the wiki? I just want to ask so I know what I can ask for.

I’m assuming you’re asking the both of us, so we’ve both got answers for you.

Mod Ragna: I’ve played through the entire Chronicle Mode, and I’m always willing to look stuff up for accuracy. Ask away!

Mod Jin:  my mans i played through the whole of chronicle mode and ill dig through lore again every time we get a request to make sure it’s as close to canon as possible, so go crazy with your requests, we’ll try to deliver as best as we can !

kaguhibi request! i imagine that kagura would eventually get hibiki into therapy for obvious reasons, and letting hibiki off from work while doing so in such. i'd like imagines of that based around that, along with more like general angsty fluff that pertains to it. sorry if this is too much!

a light in the shadows | kagura / hibiki angst + fluff, therapy related imagines

-Hibiki’s been aware of his issues for a long time, he’s just never prioritized addressing them, preferring instead to bury himself in work to keep up his professional image. So when Kagura first suggests therapy, he doesn’t react with anything more than a side-eye and an offhanded, “Maybe.”

-Knowing his partner wouldn’t bother with it otherwise, Kagura ends up arranging his first appointment for him. Still, Hibiki protests, saying he’s busy with work, until Kagura just manhandles him out of the office and forces him to take the day off.

-Deep down, Hibiki’s known that the only real reason he hasn’t addressed his issues is that he’s afraid of confronting them, but he would rather die than admit it out loud. He’s irritated and yet appreciative of Kagura’s insistence; he knows it’s for his own good, that Kagura’s doing this because he cares, but he’s frustrated that it’s taken him this long to start working on himself.

-After his first few sessions, the next time he’s alone with Kagura, Hibiki absently brings up his trauma, and tells Kagura that he honestly hadn’t expected therapy to be helpful, but it’s been making life easier for him, so he’s grateful to Kagura nagging him to go for it. It’s the closest to a heartfelt thank you Kagura’s ever heard from his sharp-tongued partner; in true Kagura fashion, he teases Hibiki about it for weeks despite the happiness he feels at hearing it.

-Even with the therapy, Hibiki’s mind still slips occasionally. Afterwards, he won’t show it, but he feels awful every time, and Kagura knows him far too well to be fooled by the glacial front he shows everyone else. Depending on what signs Hibiki shows, Kagura comforts him in different ways; sometimes distantly, just through leaving things out for him or doing big parts of his work, sometimes directly by showing him affection, holding him and reassuring him that for all his faults he’s still more than just a tool, that he’s worth loving.

-They both know it’s going to be a long, possibly rough time, but Hibiki is determined to get better, and while he struggles through the healing process, Kagura will be there to support him, the same way Hibiki’s supported him in everything else all these years.

-Considering the whole tough girl/chuuni persona Phonon likes to put on, she’ll never admit it but it gets tiring for her sometimes. Nanase won’t point it out to her face, but she can absolutely tell, and that’s when she’ll take Phonon flying out in the Hollow Night with her EXS ability. They’ll usually end up just chilling on a high rooftop somewhere, far away from other people, where Phonon can just be herself with her partner.

-Phonon complains about how uncool it is to wear makeup for a while, until Nanase does it for her One Time, and now she permanently won’t shut up about how uncool she looks when she does it herself. It’s completely not a ruse to get Nanase to stare intently into her face for an hour or so while she puts on her makeup. Absolutely not.

-(Set after Phonon’s arcade mode). Before they get together, Nanase spends weeks flying over rooftops, yelling that she’s trying to find “Miss Gentleman”, and otherwise refers to Phonon with other awful, cliché shoujo-manga esque titles when she asks around for her. (Think. Nanase arcade mode but she’s looking for Phonon instead). Until Phonon goes to find her (in disguise, of course), completely exasperated, and Nanase bets that if they fight and she wins, Miss Gentleman has to unmask herself and introduce herself properly. Guess who ends up winning. They finally have a Proper Conversation and actually catch up with each other for real.

-Enkidu makes sure to be very gentle with you, considering the size difference, and also his sheer strength. He would hate to accidentally crack your ribs during a hug and send you to the emergency room.

-That being said, he enjoys picking you up and holding you. Whether it's close to his chest in a hug or on his shoulders, he enjoys that special feeling of closeness. It makes him feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

-Enkidu is also very happy to assist in getting things of off high shelves, a godsend for cooking and cleaning. Likewise, you help him by reaching the smaller spaces that he isn't so accustomed to.

-Hilda, being the absolute princess that she is, naturally revels in attention, but it’s a little different for her when it’s from someone she loves. She’s genuinely happy every time you hold her - whether it’s hugging her to sleep or carrying her places, and she’ll find herself smiling wide; a soft, less showy smile compared to her usual smug grins.

-If you point it out to her at all, though, she’ll play it off and laugh, louder than usual, trying to cover up the embarrassment that she of all people could be disarmed by love and affection.

-Eventually, she makes a game out of it, and will make a point to over-dramatically snuggle you back whenever you get affectionate with her, especially if you’re in public. Accidentally brushed against her leg at the table? Be prepared to deal with Hilda playing footsies with you for the next hour or so, giggling the whole time.

-Whenever you carry her, she’ll throw her arms around your neck and snuggle against you, making herself as comfortable as possible. Even if it’s just a few feet. She’ll be stuck to you like a limpet the whole time, and when you finally get to put her down she’ll laugh and kiss you as a thanks for the effort.

-Despite her theatrics in public, she really does genuinely love you being affectionate and holding her all the time, and honestly she just uses the “game” as an excuse to show you her own love and appreciation.

- Bang is a very passionate person in general, even more so when he loves someone; he’ll direct all his attention and energy towards his S/O. He loves seeing you happy with him, and whenever your depression starts to kick in, he makes it his top priority to support you as best as he can; nobody is allowed to make his S/O feel upset, and to him, your depression is no exception. If he could throw hands with it, he would.

- Bang makes sure to be extra attentive to your mental state - he’ll tone down his usual exuberance so as to not stress you out when you’re not in the mood for it. He’ll sit by you quietly and make sure nobody else bothers you, and hold you for as long as you need the physical comfort.

- If you start to slip into a state of self doubt and start guilting yourself, he’ll encourage you to talk to him, so he can firmly reassure you that you are absolutely not to blame for whatever your mind is currently fixated on.

- In the case that you do get stressed and snap at him, he’ll back off and give you space; he won’t hold it against you, he understands. He’ll talk to you about it when you’re feeling better, though, so the both of you can figure out a more effective communication method the next time something like this happens.

- He knows depression is a rough thing to be going through, and will often reassure you to have hope that it won’t be like this forever; you’ll get better eventually, and until then he’ll be there alongside you to support you, no matter how long it takes.

Being Evil Has Its Perks | Hilda and Hazama, with a very affectionate S/O

Hilda

-Hilda is no stranger to giving affection, but recieving it is a rather foreign concept to her. However, with you, she has no qualms about it. She tends to not think too much about those sorts of things.

-Hugs, cuddling, headpats, you name it: Everything is on the table here. It soon becomes a game of who can be more physical with the other, and both of you have a lot of fun with it. Hilda tends to be an overachiever, while you're just happy as long as she's having fun.

-Deep down, Hilda is truly overjoyed that she has someone like you at her side. It's rather lonely at the top of the world, and being caught up in such a grand scheme means having little time for other people. Having someone there to fill that part of her heart fills her with a nice, warm feeling.

Hazama

-The first time you start to get cuddly with Hazama, he’s a little bit confused. Intrigued and interested, but confused; since being created, he’s never experienced any acts of affection before, that part of human emotion remaining a mystery to him - until you, of course.

-Despite that, it doesn’t take him long to warm up to it, and cuddling soon becomes one of his favorite activities to do with you. Being a fake human, he tends to run a little colder than normal, and he loves it when you hug him because you’re always nice and warm to hold. He also uses being a heat leech as an excuse to snuggle you for hours.

-He loves it when you shower him with hugs and kisses; to him, it’s important because it’s a very visible and physical way you show your feelings for him. He understands your love through your actions, and makes sure to return it in full - he’ll kiss and hug you back twice as often.

-He’ll do it in public too, he doesn’t care what other people think. Unless you’re uncomfortable with it, then he’ll lay off and keep the PDA to a minimum.

Sleeping Reaper | Gordeau trying to drag Chaos away from his work to cuddle

-Underneath his sarcastic persona and intimidating visage, Gordeau is a caring man. Whether it's friends or his lover, he always makes sure that they're not pushing themselves past their limits. Unfortunately, Chaos stends to be a very stubborn man, especially when it comes to work.

-Gordeau has a list of tactics he employs to try and drag Chaos away from his work. First, he uses diplomacy, trying to persuade him that it's late. Chaos says that this particular piece of work is very important. Then, he tries sweet-talking him, even using his real name, and while Chaos appreciates it, he calls the bluff. Only one thing left to try: Physical persuasion.

-And by that, he means lifting Chaos out of his chair and dropping him into the bed. This tactic tends to work the best, but Gordeau prefers to use the first two before it, opting to challenge himself. Plus, Chaos's stubborness is somewhat cute, so he tries to draw as much joy as he can from it. Although, Chaos is even cuter when he's the little spoon, so it's made up for by that.
