For the ANON with the visiting cat. 4 years ago, we started getting almost daily visits from a beautiful ginger cat. He'd walk along the fence or jump onto the BBQ table, but wouldn't come inside because we had a dog. We nicknamed him Thomas lol. The day after we had our dog put to sleep, Thomas walked in like he owned the place, and has never left. Turned out that his old family moved out of our street and he never settled, so returned to the old street he lived in. We think he was making sure we were a nice family before moving in. His original family didn't want him back( we tracked them via his microchip). He's a beautiful boy 😍😊
