Home Chef Midcentury Home

Eccentric artist Frederica Ortiz has one dream - to be the best home chef around. She and her two very spoiled cats Bobie and Paco have moved to San Sequoia to a dream house that she decorated in her favorite mid century funky style. Build on the Sequoia Cottage lot and playtested,it includes 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath, large living space perfect for entertaining, chef kitchen, a detached garage and plenty of room for the kitties

Felt like building and really hadn't used the new pack all that much. I've been really into mid century builds (love Atomic Ranch) and I combined the two. Decided I wanted lots of color & fun furnishings; the kitchen is my favorite (and my dream TBH) but I love the rest of the house too.

I'm a bit obsessed with this house so now I want to play in it. I love my Sims I created for it too. (I always need a Sim in mind when I build). So maybe I will try out the Home Chef Hustle gameplay with Frederica and her cats.

Bobie & Paco both love the house too.

Found on the gallery under BabblingStacey. No CC, but I have all the build packs (except Bust the Dust) and I use freely from them all - mainly the ones you would think for this decor - lots of Bowling Night, Get Famous, Dream Home Decorator, Movie Hangout, Decor to the Max and of course, Home Chef Hustle. Don't worry, the only Batuu item is a cute little cat (i think?) statue in the bedroom.

Beginning of Summer, Year 2

Since there were too many sad memories at the old house, the little family decided to move to Henford-On-Bagley.

Gerdie is delighted to be around chickens again. She's also going to be going back to school for a Communication Degree as they raise their animals.

Indiana is unsure of these new creatures around.

Anna meanwhile is really hoping for a pony for her upcoming birthday.

Early Summer, Year 2

The trip wasn't an immediate success. It was chilly & rainy and being outdoors wasn't fun.

But as the weather improved, so did the family's mood.

(Anna's marshmallow fell off)

In the end, the trip was healing and Gerdie maxed another skill (but not the aspiration yet).

Newly Completed Aspiration: Musical Genius (23/65 completed)

it was a very sad household, follwing Johnny's death. Gerdie tried to put on a brave face and help her kids but it was difficult.

Everyone was so sad.

Finally Gerdie had an idea - they would go on vacation to Granite Falls to get away for a bit.

First Day of Summer, Year 2

A nice family Grand Breakfast to celebrate Summerfest. Everything is happy & normal, many jokes are flying and plans are made to celebrate the day.

Suddenly Johnny stood up.

Gerdie's face is basically saying "Stop fooling around Johnny".

But Gerdie should have known - having "died" this way before - that Johnny had too many happy & playful moodlets.

He died, surrounded by his family, doing what he loved most - laughing.

So this wasn't planned - I had been toying with an idea that Gerdie & Johnny would divorce, after he finds out that Johnny is not actually the father of Beau. i was just getting tired of trying to think of things for Johnny to do and not annoy me when I'm trying to take care of the others. But...this takes care of it I guess.

Sorry Johnny, I didn't mean for you to die. But not sorry enough to have Gerdie save you.

Also one of those other gravestones is Gerdie's, from the death that didn't actually happen. The other I'm pretty sure is Angela Pleasant's from when Gerdie brought her back.

End of Spring, Year 2

Newly Completed Aspirations: Friend of the Animals 22/63 completed

Newly Completed Skills: Veterinarian, 37/50 completed.

Newly Completed Careers: Entertainers (musician branch), Freelance Writer. (17/45)

It's back to the grind for Gerdie. Since she doesn't sleep, no only did she become a Concert Virtuoso, she opened a combination Vet Clinic and Cat Rescue - where she fostered the local strays and found them forever homes - like Rainbow the cat going home with Gunther.

It was also time for Beau to age up to a child!

He is an adorable Outgoing child. And Anna was happy to have her playmate join her in the treehouse.

However, Gerdie has been feeling restless. She's at a crossroads of what to do next and the Watcher she is getting a little annoyed by Johnny's lack of interests beyond watching TV and his constant Mischief interactions even though they have a family club that bans those. She thinks it's time for a vacation for them all but where to go?

Not many screenshots - I feel the animal aspiration and Vet game play got a little grindy - and buggy - for me. So I'm calling it done, even if her vet clinic is only 3 stars. There isn't a rule, I was trying to get to at least 4 but I swear it bugs out every other patient.

Well I'm having the same issue. It's annoying and I worry it's messing up my save.

Waaaah 😭 my save might be corrupt, I am 💔

The adults in my household did not get the holiday tasks box for 2 consecutive holidays, but the toddlers did. Turned off mods, gone back as far as I can in file recovery, still having the same problem.

I've done a lot of testing in various versions of this save (still to test other saves), and it appears that this problem only affects some Sims in a household while others are fine.

This has happened since yesterday's update, anyone else having a similar issue?

Sometime in a Dream, Year 2

Newly Completed Career: Criminal (Oracle branch) 15/45 complete

It was now time for Gerdie to say goodbye. She had learned how to return to her life before and was anxious to - but a little sad to leave Litlh, Caleb, Catherine, & Damian.

However Caleb gave her a gift of necklace; with it, she could return at anytime. She had the family's protections, so she would never be injured.

After some tearful goodbyes, Gerdie took her potion.

And found herself back in her front yard. To the rest of the family, she had only been gone a night.

But she had to give Anna a big hug anyway. She was home.

Newly Added Reward Traits: Never Weary. (42/43)

This was fun, though it got to the point I was just having Gerdie hibernate near the end to finish the aspiration and the career. and she maxed A LOT of skills. I was against the Never Weary/Forever Full, but I guess it fits after being a vampire.

Also this was funny.

Iggy! He's Gerdie's dad in another save and I totally forgot he would exist in this new save. He started showing up at the bar in Forgotten Hallow and I gave him a quick makeover (but he still doesn't look like my Iggy but I wasn't going to put a lot of time into it.) Uh, I Gerdie accidently killed his brother Damon (for the Public Enemy aspiration) but managed to save him with a Death Flower because I she felt so guilty.

But she became friends with Grim, so all was well.

Sometime in a Dream, Year 2.

As Gerdie learned everything to know about this strange place she found herself in, she figured out how and why she had come here. The spirit who put her in this dreamstate was a vampire himself - who had cast a hallucination and sleep spell on her. As she was nearly a powerful Grand Vampire now, she knew she had to teach him a lesson.

So she removed his vampire ability - and had a bit of fun herself.

She had one of Lilth & Caleb's puppies stay with her for a bit so she would have some company. Duke was really sweet and it was nice to have something around the house to talk to,

(basically just waiting to finish the Criminal career and the Master Vampire aspiration and may as well use that Tiny Home boost)

Sometime in a Dream, Year 2

Lilth asked Gerdie for a favor. She wasn't able to have babies herself but knew Gerdie could. She asked if they could have a science baby together..

Gerdie agreed.

Meet Catherine Visser-Vatore...

...and Damian Visser-Vatore. Oops. Got the Science Baby twins.

Lilth was thrilled though.

If you read gunthermunch's wonderful saga as well, you'll certainly find it amusing as I do that Gunther hangs out in Forgotten Hallow a lot. In fact, I didn't get a screenshot but he called Gerdie to say he heard she & Lilth became good friends and that Lilth was pretty cool. I so wish I got but I always automatically closed those dumb texts without thinking. I would just marry them off but in this save, Gunther is gay (set up by the savefile creator) and I don't feel right changing it.

Since Gerdie is now the monster everyone fears, she has taken to getting into multiple fights - including with the Flower Bunny. She's also an Oracle in the Criminal career.

I just learned that in my Name Game save, Brent Hecking was killed by Neighborhood Stories, and to fill the hole in his heart, Brant replaced him with literally 19 dogs. I have my households set to allow 20 sims.

The household is Brant and 19 dogs. He took his place as the resident "dog man" a little too seriously.

Time passed and Gerdie still hadn't woken up. But she has not sat idly by.

She has also taken to share her gifts with others, including the other Lilth in her life. She soon gathered together a new family.

She missed Johnny, Anna & Beau though. When will she wake up?

Gerdie soon met a lovely lady named Lilith and her brother Caleb, who were happy to share their knowledge with Gerdie about their powers.

Apparently Lilth & Caleb had adopted a lot of dogs.

Lilth loved her puppies but confided to Gerdie that she really wanted a child of her own.
