The Reluctant Hero
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: Y/N had always known she was different. Her powers, though strong, had brought her isolation more than anything else. She preferred to work in the shadows, using her abilities to help people discreetly. She had no intention of becoming a part of the Avengers or any high-profile superhero team. Though Peter had other plans.
Warnings: Smut kind of. Minors DNI. Profanity. Mentions of PTSD and Trauma.
Word Count: 9.5K
A/N: Listen, I am a Bucky girl, but that doesn't mean I don't have my Peter days, and today is one of them, I just finished rewatching NWH and I figured why not write a little spidey fic. Enjoy. Also, this was before the world knew Peter Parker was Spiderman. (Not proofread at all, sorry.)
Tumblr media
Y/N had always been well aware of her unique abilities. From a young age, she had the power to manipulate and control energy. With a mere thought, she could reshape matter and even harness the energy around her to create a variety of effects. However, Y/N was also acutely aware of the potential dangers of her powers, having witnessed the unintended consequences they could bring.
While her powers had the potential to change the world, Y/N preferred to operate in the shadows. She had seen how the public spotlight had turned some heroes into celebrities, their lives, and relationships under constant scrutiny. Y/N valued her anonymity and chose to operate under the radar, helping people discreetly and minimizing her impact on the world. So she decided to mask her identity by, well, wearing a mask. She made an entire suit using pink and black material and she had to admit it looked pretty nice.
One evening, Y/N's covert activities led her to a dimly lit alley where a gang had gathered. She could tell they were up to no good, their intentions nefarious and dangerous. Y/N observed from the shadows, her instincts telling her that intervention was necessary.
Before she could make a move, the sound of thwips echoed through the alley. Spider-Man had arrived, his red and blue suit contrasting against the dark backdrop. He moved with grace and precision, quickly disarming a couple of gang members and using his web-shooters to immobilize others.
Y/N watched as the fight unfolded, Spider-Man's agility and quick thinking on full display. He moved seamlessly, dodging attacks and countering with impressive skill. Despite her initial skepticism, Y/N couldn't help but be impressed by his abilities. The way he handled himself was a testament to his dedication and determination to protect the city.
As the fight raged on, one of the gang members managed to land a powerful blow to Spider-Man's side, sending him crashing against a nearby wall. His mask hid the wince of pain, but Y/N could sense his struggle to get back on his feet. The gang member lunged again, aiming for a decisive strike.
Without hesitation, Y/N stepped out of the shadows and intervened. She directed a surge of energy at the attacker, knocking him off balance and allowing Spider-Man to recover. As he regained his footing, Y/N's eyes met his briefly – a silent acknowledgment of their unspoken teamwork.
The fight continued, but now Y/N was an active participant. She used her energy manipulation to create barriers, deflect attacks, and incapacitate the gang members. Spider-Man moved alongside her, utilizing his web-shooters and acrobatics to take down the remaining members.
As the last of the gang members retreated, Y/N and Spider-Man stood side by side, catching their breath. The alley was littered with debris, a testament to the intense battle that had taken place. Y/N turned to Peter, her expression a mix of curiosity and respect.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her voice laced with genuine concern.
Spiderman nodded, his mask hiding the hint of a grateful smile. "Thanks to you. That energy blast was a lifesaver."
Y/N shrugged off the compliment, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. "I couldn't just stand by. We make quite the team."
Standing in silence for a while Y/N decided it was best she head home, knowing she had school in the morning and that it was late enough, she already knew she'd feel exhausted come morning.
"Hey, I'm gonna get going, it was nice kicking ass with you but it's late and I have to be up in the morning." Y/N scratched the mask covering her face and realized she was pretty sweaty, gross.
"Uh yeah, absolutely, I too, have an early morning. Um, sleep well I guess." Peter didn't really know what to say as he partially wanted to know who she was under that mask but he knew if he asked she too would want to know who he was, and he just wasn't sure if he could trust her with his identity yet.
As Y/N lay in bed she couldn't help but wonder who Spiderman's real identity was. I mean New York is a big city but he didn't sound much older than she herself was. Looking at the clock beside her bed the time read 3:43am, deciding that she needed to finally stop thinking and go to sleep, she shut her eyes.
...
The next morning as Y/N got ready for school her mind was still crowded with thoughts of Spiderman's identity. He sounded young, maybe her age or a few years older. His voice sounded familiar but not too familiar, she could swear she knew that voice from somewhere, she just didn't know where.
Arriving at school Y/N rushed to her locker to grab her trigonometry book, she was late and she knew she would get detention. great. Finally entering the classroom the teacher gave her a knowing look.
"Late again Y/N, thats the third time this week, you know what that means." Miss. Taylor was the worst teacher Y/N had ever had, she was the biggest bitch in the entire faculty. Though she was a teacher it seemed like she hated kids.
"Yeah, I know, detention." Y/N rolled her eyes and grabbed the detention slip from Miss. Taylor's hand.
Heading over to her seat she locked eyes with Peter Parker who sat in front of her, though they had never really talked they both had an understanding about how much they disliked Miss. Taylor. Giving him an annoyed look he smiled at her as if to say "I understand".
Grabbing out your notebook you began to write down the lesson on the board in front of you. While focusing on the bored you noticed that Peter was busy texting someone on his phone, though it looked important Miss Taylor didn't seem to care, she threw her hands on her hips and sighed rather obnoxiously.
"Mister Parker, is that a cellphone I see in your hand? seems you want to join Miss Y/L/N in detention today, bring me your phone, you can pick it up after detention." Miss Taylor walked over to her desk and began writing out a detention slip for Peter. Peter walked up to the front of the class, handed over his phone, and grabbed the slip. Locking eyes with him you could tell that he was annoyed. Sending him a reassuring smile you liked the thought of not being alone in detention today, it'll be nice having someone else there to keep you company.
"Hey at least you're not alone, we can be detention buddies" You whispered quietly to Peter to try and cheer him up. He gave you a faint smile back and began working on something in his notebook.
_____
After school had finished you were making your way over to Miss Taylor's class for detention, dreading having to be at school longer than normal, at least this will give you time to catch up on some homework. Walking into the classroom you locked eyes with Peter and gave him a small wave.
"Okay, since you both have made it here the 30 minutes start now. Once the 30 minutes are up, Peter you can have your phone back and you both can go home." Miss Taylor glanced up at you and Peter and started a timer on her watch. This is going to be the longest 30 ever.
About 10 minutes had gone by when Miss Taylor stood up and announced that she would be leaving the room for a couple minutes, she made it clear that there was to be no talking and that both you and Peter were not allowed to get up and leave the room.
"Hey, did you get the answer to question 5? I've tried going over it several times and I keep coming up with a different answer, I'm not sure what to do." You were hoping Peter would be able to help you since he had a much better grade in the class than you did.
"Yeah, I got -9, I put it through my calculator a few times and kept coming up with the same answer so I think I'm pretty confident that its the answer, but it wouldn't surprise me if she said it's the wrong answer, I swear she hates me." Peter rolled his eyes and you let out a small laugh.
"Don't worry you're not alone, I'm pretty sure she hates me too, I don't know why she went into teaching, she doesn't seem to like kids very much." You smiled and shook your head. Peter looked over at the clock and sighed.
"You got somewhere you need to be?" you couldn't help but be curious.
"Uh yeah, nothing serious, I just need to help Ned apply to college." Peter looked over at you nervously.
"Oh yeah, I have to do that too, I have no idea where I want to go or what I want to do. It's such a hard decision you know. That's a choice that will affect us for the rest of our lives. I'm not sure I'm ready to make that decision just yet, do you know where you're applying?" You glanced up at him from your homework awaiting his answer.
"Yeah, Ned and I have applied to several schools, but were really hoping to get into MIT, it's been a dream of ours since we were kids." MIT, you'd never get into a school like that, you don't have the grades, and even if you did, you don't have the money.
"MIT would be perfect for you. You're like the smartest kid in our grade, maybe even the entire school." You smiled at Peter and he shook his head.
"I don't know about that, I'm sure that there are other kids much smarter than me," Peter knew that he was the smartest kid in their grade but he didn't want to admit that in front of Y/N and look like a total nerd.
_____
After detention, you were making your way home when you heard a fight going on in the alley beside the school, silently creeping around you noticed that it was one of the guys from the fight last night, talking to Spiderman, more like yelling at him. How do we always get ourselves into these situations, people need to stop hanging out in random alleys.
"You cost me a lot of money last night, and I'm here to ensure that you pay up." The man pulled a gun out of his pocket and attempted to shoot Spiderman but he managed to block the bullet with his webs. You weren't sure if he needed your help or if he could handle this himself. You saw what he was capable of last night. You knew he would have no problem taking this guy down.
Peter shot his web shooters at the man's arm that was holding the gun, forcing the gun to drop and hit the ground, as the gun collided with the ground it went off, shooting a bullet right into Spiderman's leg, he bent over and clutched his leg, giving the other man just enough time to run away. You decided that you wanted to help him, You couldn't just leave him there, not after last night. Before you got the chance to make yourself known Peter was shooting a web over the man's face and ripping his Spiderman mask off to get some air.
Though Y/N was facing his back that didn't stop her from seeing who he was, since she had sat behind him for months she would recognize that head anywhere, Peter Parker was Spiderman. Y/N wasn't sure what she wanted to do, did she go out there and help him, eventually outing herself and him in the process, or did she leave, acting like she saw nothing and everything would remain the same. She'd still be the normal teenager she was, and Peter would remain the nerdy kid. But she knew she couldn't just leave him, she knew she had to go out there and help him. She knew deep down that no matter what the future holds she wanted to make sure that her friend was okay. So who really cared if Peter outed her, or turns her into the Avengers. Nothing would be worse than having Peter get more injured than he already was, and it would be all her fault for not helping. So she mustered up the courage she could find and ran over to help him.
"Oh my god Peter are you okay?" She knew that at this current moment, he definitaly was not okay, he had just been shot and now one of his classmates knew who he was.
"Y/N... what are you doing here?" Peter stumbled over his words stunned that Y/N was right in front of him looking at him dressed in the Spiderman suit without his mask on, ideas ran through his head on how he could possibly get out of this situation. Maybe she didn't see that much, maybe she just got here and didn't see him shoot his web shooters, maybe he can say he's trying out a new Halloween costume, maybe he can say that he wanted to see how hard it was to be a superhero for a college essay. No matter how many lies ran through his head he knew that ultimately he was screwed. There was no getting out of this. Y/N knew that he was Spiderman and she was going to tell everyone, his life would never be the same again.
As Y/N's eyes scanned over Peter's face she noticed that he was panicking. "Relax Peter, I'm here to help, I would never say anything to anyone... last night, I was the one who helped you..." Y/N wasn't sure how Peter was going to take the news. Her eyes locked onto his as she was trying to figure out if this was a good thing or a bad one.
Before either of them got a chance to say anything else the man who Peter was fighting ripped the web off his face and was reaching for the gun that he had dropped mere moments before. Y/N acted as quick as possible and using her powers she sent a surge of matter towards the gun, moving it to where the man couldn't reach it. Peter was even more in shock than he was before. He shot his web shooters at the man a few more times to ensure that he was completely stuck this time and wouldn't be going anywhere.
Peter shook his head and chuckled. "I knew your voice sounded familiar."
"That's exactly how I felt, I spent the better half of the last day trying to figure out where I knew your voice from, little did I know, it was right in front of my nose." Y/N smiled up at Peter, she felt safer now knowing that she knew someone who also had powers. She left less alone, though her mind hasn't completely changed about being an Avenger, she was letting the idea gravitate around her brain.
"I gotta admit when I first saw you I was so scared." Peter let out a sigh of relief.
"Yeah I could tell, you looked like you were about to pass out. I would never tell anyone who you are, that's not who I am, even if I didn't have the abilities that I have, I'd never go out of my way to make someone else's life miserable." You sent Peter a reassuring glance. While Peter was about thank her for what she had said, he suddenly remembered that he had been shot. Looking down Peter was met with a hole in his suit that was gushing blood.
"Shit, I think I should go get this stitched up," Peter mumbled. Y/N could see his face getting whiter by the second.
"Okay, I'll come with you, I mean to make sure you're okay. Wouldn't want all my hard work saving you all the time to go down the drain" Y/N said sarcastically and smiled at Peter.
"Oh yes, we definitely should stick together. I have no idea what I'd ever do without you." Peter smirked and started to limp out of the alley.
"So where are we headed? I assume you can't just walk into the hospital with a gunshot wound." Y/N followed after Peter.
"Uh, I could stop by my Aunt May's work, she would know how to stitch this up, but I really don't want to be yelled at about being more safe right now. So I think I'm gonna head over to the compound, Bruce or Dr. Cho can help." Peter decided that it might be faster to get to the compound if he swung him and Y/N there on his webs. "Hey, what do you think about me getting us to the compound faster?" Peter questioned. "I was thinking I could use my web-shooters, and you could just grab on? I promise I'll try extra hard not to drop you." Peter smirked.
Y/N wasn't sure what she was more nervous about, being several feet off the ground, or going to the Avengers compound, though she was scared, she didn't want to make Peter walk the entire way there on his injured leg and she also wanted to make sure that he arrives there safe. "Uh yeah, but I'm gonna need you to do a lot more than trying to not drop me." Y/N tried to seem like she wasn't as scared as she really felt.
Peter could tell that she was nervous so he threw his hand across his chest and placed it over his heart. "Y/N I swear on the entire city, that I shall not drop you," Peter said sounding ever so serious.
Y/N grinned at him and shook her head. "Yeah yeah, let's go." She grabbed onto him and squished her eyes shut as tight as they could possibly go, even though she had to be up in the air that didn't mean that she had to keep her eyes open.
Once arriving at the compound Peter landed safely at the front doors, looking down at Y/N she still had her eyes squeezed shut, Peter smiled softly, "Hey, you can open your eyes now, we're here." Y/N slowly opened her eyes and looked around her, as if to make sure he wasn't lying to her. "See, I told you I wouldn't drop you." Peter smiled as Y/N let go of him and took a step back.
"Okay, well, glad you made it here safe, I'm gonna head home now." Though Y/N knew that Peter wasn't going to let her just leave, it didn't stop her from trying. Peter grabbed her hand before she got the chance to take a step away.
"Uh absolutely not, what would happen if I run into a bad guy in the hallway? Who's gonna save me?" Peter looked at her with a smile on his face and still not letting go of her hand.
"I think the Avengers can help you out from here, you don't need me," Y/N chuckled to herself and tried not to focus too hard on the fact that Peter was practically holding her hand. Though it seemed like she wasn't trying hard enough as Peter pulled his hand away from hers and gasped.
"Jeez Y/N, you could've just asked me to let go you didn't have to shock my hand." Peter grinned at her. Her face must be the darkest shade of red at this point, this can't be happening.
"I swear that was an accident, I didn't mean to, I'm not even sure what happened.." Y/N tried to come up with something witty to say, anything that would get her out of this situation that she was currently in, but she couldn't think of anything, in fact she couldn't think at all, why did that happen, why did her powers act up and shock him, that's never happened before.
"Hey Y/N I was just joking, I love that we have a spark between us." Peter chuckled at her expense. Though he was trying to make her smile it only turned her face more red. She pretended to play it off and threw a light punch at his arm.
"Okay okay, you're a regular comedian, I can't stop laughing at all your funny jokes, let's see how much you're laughing when you get those stitches," Y/N smirked up at Peter as she watched his smile falter slightly.
"Mhm, let's go get this over with, you gotta hold my hand though so you can't be shocking me anymore." Peter was just throwing these jokes around, Y/N shook her head and smiled.
"Maybe I should shock you, maybe it'll get your mind off the pain that you're gonna be in." If Peter wanted to make jokes at Y/N's expense she would do the exact same thing to him.
"Mkay, you do that." Peter opened the compound door and Y/N walked through.
They had walked down what seemed like eight different hallways before he stopped in front of a set of double doors. "So this is the med bay, usually it's empty unless we go on big missions and someone gets hurt." Peter opened the door for her and urged her to walk inside. Once she entered she was met with Bruce Banner sitting on a chair at one of the tables studying a flower.
"Looks who's back, Peter I swear you were here just a few days ago." Bruce sighed and went over to grab what looked like a med kit.
"I mean in my defense I am out saving the city." Peter tried to defend the fact that he was always getting hurt though Bruce wasn't having any of it.
"Well, you need to do more of the beating and less of taking the beating." Bruce grabbed one of the hospital beds and Peter took that as an invitation to go and lay down. Y/N wasn't sure what she should do so she didn't do anything, in fact, she hadn't moved since they got in here. Peter looked over at her and gestured for her to sit down in the chair next to his bed. Y/N was hesitant at first then decided that it might be best for her to sit down, she was feeling a little light-headed.
Just as Y/N had sat down next to Peter, Bruce became aware of the fact that there was a stranger in the room. "So uh, is this your girlfriend or something?" Bruce questioned Peter. Y/N wasn't sure how it was possible, but her face had gotten even more red than before.
"No, she's a friend, she helped me when I got shot. We also go to school together." Peter smiled over at Y/N and gave her a reassuring look. She didn't like that they were talking about her, but that didn't mean she was going to speak up.
"You said she helped you when you got shot? How did she help you exactly?" Bruce asked curiously.
Y/N could feel her heart rate speeding up in her chest. She wasn't sure what Peter was going to say, she wasn't sure what she wanted him to say. Peter looked over at her and gave her a questioning look. Did she have him lie to his fellow Avenger, or did he tell the truth? Deciding that she didn't think lying would be a good idea, she spoke up before Peter could say anything.
"Um, I helped him because I have these... powers. I can uh, control energy? If that makes sense." Y/N was pretty sure she sounded insane. She looked up at Bruce and he was already looking at her.
"What do you mean exactly, when you say you can control energy?" Bruce looked at her curiously. Y/N glanced over at Peter quickly before shifting her eyes back over to Bruce.
"I have the ability to control the energy around me and I can use it to my advantage, I could turn the lights off in this entire building if I wanted. I could shoot an energy blast at someone, I could even cause someone to have a heart attack by controlling the energy inside their body." Y/N didn't want to brag, but she also didn't want to lie to Bruce. She could do a lot of things with her powers, and if used the wrong way she could do some serious damage to those around her.
"Hm, I'm interested to see how that works. Once I've finished stitching up Pete would you be willing to show me some of your powers?" Bruce was giving her the option of whether she wanted to use her powers or not, and that meant a lot to her, whether he truly meant it or not, she was more obligated to show him when he had given her a choice.
"I can show you, just let me know when." Y/N wasn't sure what Bruce wanted her to do, but she was willing to show him.
"We can head over to the training yard out back after this, it's a nice open field where the new recruits run drills, it'll be just us back there today though." Bruce was trying to reassure Y/N that they would be alone, no one else would be around to see her use her powers, and for that she was grateful.
___
Once they had made it out onto the training field Bruce let Y/N decide how she chose to show him her powers. She had been standing there thinking for a few moments when she decided to shoot a blast of energy over at one of the trees and shot it down. She looked over at Bruce to see his reaction.
"Wow, okay, yeah that definitely is something. Where did you get these powers from? Were you born with them?" Bruce seemed genuinely curious about her.
Y/N looked down at her shoes, she wasn't sure if she was ready to talk about that moment in her life yet, she had been to several therapists and still wasn't over the PTSD that she encountered. "Um, I'm not too comfortable talking about that... let's just say I didn't want them, but I have them now and there's nothing I can do about it." Bruce looked over at her with a sad smile.
"Hey, no worries, you're not obligated to tell me anything. If you ever need someone to talk to you can always talk to me, I know we just met but still." Bruce was trying to make her feel better since he had been the one to dig up a repressed memory of hers.
"Thank you, I don't really have anyone else to talk to about this sort of thing so that means a lot to me, I had to go through all of this alone, I didn't have anyone there to help me or tell me everything was going to be okay, after... what happened.. I was all alone." Y/N was shocked that she felt safe enough with Bruce to tell him how she was feeling, she had just met him less than half an hour ago and here she was talking to him like she had known him for years.
"We've all been there, having powers or abilities isn't always accepted and normalized. Though there is our group, we're more of a family, If you ever need help with anything we'd be happy to step in." Bruce had moved closer to her and was now standing right next to her.
"Thanks." Y/N decided that she didn't want to share much more about herself with Bruce, at least not today. Before she got the chance to say anything else Peter walked out and joined them both in the field.
"Hey, sorry it took me a second to get out here I had to call May and tell her where I was. She had tried to call me a few times." Peter seemed to be walking normally now, almost as if he hadn't gotten shot an hour ago.
"I should probably head out. I don't want to intrude." Y/N looked over at Peter and shot him a tight lipped smile. She was beginning to feel uncomfortable being in the Avengers compound for so long.
"Uh yeah, I can bring you home... Where do you live?" Peter asked her.
Y/N wasn't sure if she wanted to tell him that she was living alone in an apartment downtown that was infested with rats and cockroaches. She didn't want him to see where she lived, so she lied.
"Oh uh, I actually have to.. stop at the grocery store and pick up something for dinner, so you don't have to come with me it's okay." Y/N prayed that Peter took her lie and left it alone, but of course he didn't.
"Y/N I'm not just gonna let you walk home alone, it's starting to get dark." Peter looked at the sky and recognized the fact that the sun was starting to go down. There was no way that he was letting her walk home alone.
"I'm sure I can manage to get home by myself Peter I promise I'll even text you when I get home, I think I'm more than capable of taking care of myself." Y/N was trying hard to convince Peter to let her go home alone but it wasn't working.
"Not gonna happen, I'll just go to the grocery store with you, or you can eat at my house with me, May is cooking mac and cheese. I promise you will like it, she makes the best mac and cheese." For whatever reason Peter didn't want to let Y/N go, he felt protective of her and he wasn't sure why. Y/N knew that she was not going to be able to convince Peter that she could make it home on her own, he would be going with her whether she liked it or not, so she might as well just go with him and eat some of his Aunt May's dinner, it beats eating a can of soup for dinner.
"Alright Parker, I'll come over and eat dinner with you and your Aunt." Y/N rolled her eyes and headed back into the compound. Peter looked over at Bruce and told him goodbye. Bruce nodded his head and before Peter could run after Y/N, Bruce stopped him.
"Keep an eye on her, she's hurting, and lonely. Make sure she's okay, be a good friend to her." Bruce asked Peter. Peter looked over at Bruce and gave him a reassuring nod. Peter was going to make sure Y/N knew that she wasn't alone, he would be her friend.
While Y/N was waiting for Peter to come back inside she was looking around the hallways in the compound that lead to the front door. She wasn't sure how people didn't get lost in here, the place was massive. She was busy looking at one of the art pieces on the wall when someone walked up beside her.
"Hello, I don't believe I've ever seen you before." The man had asked her. Y/N was started by his voice as her head whipped to the side and she came face to face with Tony Stark.
"Oh, I'm- I'm a friend of Peter's..." Y'N wasn't sure what to say. She was nervous. She left safe around Bruce where Tony makes her feel like she's in trouble.
"Don't worry kid, I'm not gonna put you in time out. Just wanna make sure you're meant to be here and I'm not just paying millions of dollars for a security system that doesn't work." Tony gave her the slightest of smiles and glanced down at his phone. "Speaking of that kid, where is he?" Tony didn't bother looking up from his phone.
"Um, I think he's outside with Bruce, out on the training field." Y/N spoke in a hushed tone as if she was scared she was going to get yelled at.
"Okay, lead the way. I heard he got shot today so I need to go scream at him for a few minutes, you know how it is." Tony stated. Y/N didn't really know how it was. She didn't have any parents or anyone really, she didn't have someone who cared enough about her safety that if she were to get shot they'd be mad at her.
"Uh yeah." She didn't want to seem rude so she agreed anyway. Tony let Y/N pretend like she was leading the way though Tony ended up taking the lead after Y/N almost made a wrong turn.
"So, how do you know Peter?" Tony spoke up. Y/N was getting tired of being questioned about her affiliation with Peter.
"Oh we're friends from school, we have a few classes together." Y/N wasn't necessarily lying to him, she was friends with him and they did have a few classes together. Is that the entire reason that she knows him? no. But that doesn't matter.
Once Y/N and Tony had arrived outside Tony went right over to Peter and began scolding him. "Getting shot, really Peter? What were you thinking?" Peter knew that Tony cared about him, that's why he was out here yelling at him. Tony wanted to make sure that Peter was safe.
"I know, I know. It's a good thing that Y/N was there. She kind of saved my life. Or at least that's what she likes to say." Peter smiled over at Y/N and sent a wink her way.
"Uh hu, good for you guys. Glad someone was there to save your ass when you put yourself in stupid situations all the time. Peter, I promised your Aunt May that nothing bad would happen to you when she agreed to let you be an Avenger, and here you are getting shot." Tony was hoping that this talk would knock some sense into Peter but he knew that it ultimately wouldn't matter what he said. Peter would continue to do stupid things and Tony would have to continue cleaning up the mess that he left behind.
"I know, I'm sorry, it won't happen again I swear." Peter smiled up at Tony. Though they both knew he was lying they both decided to drop the subject.
"So, what's this I hear about Y/N saving your ass? How'd she manage that?" Tony glanced over at Y/N expectantly and she knew that she was going to have to show another person how her powers worked today. Y/N was starting to wonder if it would have been better to just have left Peter alone in the alley when he got shot. Knowing that she was lying to herself.
"Uh, I have these... powers. Um, I can control energy..." Y/N was about to show her abilities when Bruce spoke up.
"Yeah she showed me earlier, I watched her knock down that giant tree back there with a surge of energy she shot out of her hand, it was pretty cool. She also mentioned something about how she can control the energy in a building and the energy in people's bodies." Bruce spoke to Tony. Tony looked over and Y/N and looked her up and down.
"Huh, interesting, do you mind showing me?" Tony didn't want to give Y/N the option of whether she wanted to show him her powers or not. He wanted to see them for himself. Y/N looked over at the same tree she had shot down earlier and sent another surge of energy toward it, ultimately causing the tree to explode in the process. Tony stared at the tree for a moment, seeming to be thinking about something.
"Okay, you're in. Do you have a suit or something? I can make you one. Let's go inside and we can discuss your power some more. I could definitely use your help on our next mission. I could use you to shut down the power in the building. We got wind of some HYDRA agents working in a building in Russia." Tony spoke to Y/N while typing on his phone, probably talking to someone else about her. Y/n wasn't sure what to say. On one hand, she still didn't want to be an Avenger, yet on the second and she wouldn't mind being part of this so-called family Bruce had mentioned to her. Y/N missed having a family.
"I don't think Y/N is interested in becoming an Avenger," Peter spoke up. Y/N glanced over at him before looking back at Tony.
"Are you sure kid? I can make you a suit like Peters, one with a mask. No one would know who you are." Tony stopped typing on his phone and put his full attention on Y/N. Hoping that she might change her mind. Y/N thought hard about her decision before nodding her head and agreeing to become the newest member of the Avengers. Tony had promised to keep her identity hidden and she would hold him to that.
"Okay, I mean, I don't want you guys to announce me as the newest Avenger or anything in the media, but I guess I could help you guys out every now and again..." Y/N spoke up while looking over at Peter. He was more than excited that he would get to see more of her now that she was going to be an Avenger.
"Perfect, Y/n, Peter. Come with me. We can discuss your new suit and I can introduce you to Steve. He'll want to meet you." Tony began walking back into the compound and expected that Y/N and Peter would follow him. Y/N looked over at Bruce and he gave her a friendly smile, she smiled back.
_____
Once getting inside Tony's office they began talking over ideas for her suit, she insisted that she wanted to stay with her signature pink and black colors but then she gave Tony full artistic power. She didn't really mind what it looked like and she was sure that Tony knew what he was doing at this point when it came to designing suits for people. After all, he did make every one of Peter's suits.
"Alright, if you don't need anything else from us we might get going, I promised Aunt May that I would be home for dinner" Peter mentioned looking over at Y/N.
"Wow, already taking her home to meet the family, you two must be very serious then." Y/N and Peter could tell that Tony was just trying to mess with them.
"Haha, very funny," Peter said sarcastically. "I just invited her over for dinner, Aunt May is making mac and cheese."
"Okay, I don't actually care that much, You two run along. Y/N stop by tomorrow with Peter and take a look at the suit, I'll have the sketch drawn up by tomorrow then we can take your measurements." Tony didn't look up from his computer while talking.
"You got it, once school is done I'll be right over." Y/N smiled at him even though he wasn't looking at her, she would never admit it but she was kind of excited to see the suit that Tony had designed for her.
___
Once Peter and Y/N had arrived at May's apartment Peter walked in with Y/N behind him.
"Oh you must be Y/N Peter texted me and let me know you'd be coming by for dinner, I hope you like mac and cheese." May smiled at Y/N, she was standing in the kitchen with her hair in a bun and some sweats on.
"I love mac and cheese, Thank you for having me, your home is lovely." Y/N wanted to be as nice as possible, and May was giving her a free meal after all.
"Thank you, It's small but it's just enough room for me and Peter here." May Smiled glancing over at Peter. "Well, you two go sit in the living room, I'll call you guys once it's ready, there's juice and water in the fridge you guys help yourself." May stated while stirring a pot of macaroni. Peter glanced over at you.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Peter asked you.
"Uh no I'm okay for right now, thanks." Y/N smiled lightly and headed out towards the direction May had said the living room was leaving Peter alone in the kitchen with May.
"Peter you never said she was gorgeous." It was like May was trying to embarrass Peter.
"Okay Aunt May, I'm gonna go into the living room and sit with Y/N" Peter was blushing but May decided not to comment on it.
"Alrighty, be safe. No kissing." May giggled to herself as she watched Peter shake his head and walk away. He prayed that Y/N didn't hear any of their conversation.
Peter and Y/N had been sitting on the couch together for around 15 minutes just watching TV before one of them had the courage to say anything. Of course, Peter spoke first.
"So, are you actually excited about Tony making you a suit, about maybe becoming an Avenger?" Peter was nervous that she was going to say no, and that she wasn't going to show up to meet with Tony after school tomorrow.
"I am, I really didn't think that I would but I am, I'm excited to get to hang out with you more as well, since you're an Avenger we'll get to hang out more often." Y/N spoke staring at the TV, nervous to look over at him, What if this entire time he hadn't really been flirting with her, what if he was just playing around.
"I'm glad to hear you say that. I wanna hang out with you more than anything, and I'm glad you are excited to join the Avengers. It's more fun than it sounds, there's game nights, parties, family dinners." Peter smiled at Y/N slightly turning his body towards hers. She took that as a sign to look over at him. her face was red and his was slightly pink. An overwhelming feeling took over both of them as they looked into each other's eyes. Peter looked down at Y/N's lips and started to lean in towards her.
"DINNER!" May had shouted from the kitchen. Peter sighed and got up from the couch, putting his hand out for Y/N to grab. She smiled lightly and took his hand getting up from the couch and heading into the kitchen with Peter. Once they had entered the kitchen May was setting the table with some plates. She smiled up at the both of them and glanced at their intertwined hands.
"Sit wherever you like, the mac and cheese is just on broil right now to crisp up the top. You both can start with some of the salad if you would like." May gestured for them to both grab some salad. Peter sat down in his usual spot and Y/N sat across from him with May eventually sitting next to them both at the head of the table.
"Do you want some salad?" Peter questioned while holding up a scoop of salad. Y/N nodded her head and lifted up her plate bringing it closer to Peter. He set some salad on her plate and then gave himself some.
"Alight it's ready, please remember that it did just come out of the oven, do not burn your mouths." May had warned them while setting the dish of mac and cheese on the table.
_____
After dinner, Y/N was putting her shoes on at the door when Peter started to put his on as well. Y/N didn't want to be rude but she really didn't want him walking her home.
"I really don't need you to walk me home, it's okay. I'll even text you when I get home." Y/N was hoping that Peter would take her up on her offer, she prayed that he would let her go home on her own.
"I can't do that, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I let you walk home on your own and something bad happened to you, you saved me twice in the last 24 hours. No way am I gonna let you walk home alone." Peter grabbed her bag and put it on his back. She smiled at him softly and shook her head. Fine then, but she wasn't stopping at her actual house.
On their walk home Y/N and Peter had been talking about Peter's past missions with the Avengers. He was telling her about the time he got recruited by Tony and got to fight Captain America, they were all buddies now.
They had been walking for around 20 minutes when Y/N stopped in front of some random house about 5 minutes from her true home. Her real house was nothing like this place, her place didn't have a nice wrap-around porch, and her place didn't have a beautiful garden. Her place was filthy, and gross, and often had drug dealers out front. She wished she lived here.
"Wow, nice place." Peter looked at the house in awe, this place was nicer than he thought it would be.
"Yeah, thank you. Well, I'll see you tomorrow." Y/N didn't want to seem like she was rushing him but she was kind of tired and just wanted to go to bed, but she had another 5 minutes to walk once Peter left.
"Yeah absolutely. I'll just make sure you get inside okay and I'll be on my way, Aunt May always raised me to make sure people get inside their house safely before I walk away." Peter smiled. Shit, no. Y/N was officially screwed. She stood there thinking of ways to get out of the current situation she put herself in.
"Oh uh, I must have forgotten my keys at school," Y/N spoke quickly looking up at Peter. He looked down at her confused.
"You mean the keys that are in your hand?" Peter pointed down at her hand. She looked down and noticed that she indeed had her keys in her hand. Fuck, she was officially screwed. Peter grabbed her arm lightly.
"Y/N what's going on?" Peter asked genuinely concerned. Y/N squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head. Peter was growing more concerned by the second.
"Y/N talk to me, tell me what's wrong?" Peter squeezed her arm lightly in an attempt to get her attention. She sighed and felt her eyes start to tear up.
"This isn't my house, I don't live here." Y/N wasn't making eye contact with him. Her vision was fixed on the house in front of her. She wished that the ground would just open her up and swallow her.
"Okay... So whose house is it? And where do you actually live?" Peter was confused as to why she would lie to him about where she lived. Y/N looked over at Peter and he noticed that she was crying.
"I live a few blocks over, in a shitty apartment. That's infested with b bugs and rats. I didn't want you to see where I lived, it's embarrassing but it's all I can afford." Y/N felt incredibly valuable telling this to Peter, she had only really started talking to him today. And now he knows that she lives in a dump.
Peter's brows furrowed. He didn't understand. All she could afford? "What do you mean all you can afford?" Peter refused to break eye contact with her. He didn't even want to blink.
"I live alone... I'm on government-assisted living... I don't have a family. I have no one." Y/N was whispering at this point, scared that if maybe she didn't say it out loud she could pretend that she did live here at this house. That she had a mom, and dad who were sitting on the couch watching TV waiting for her to get home safely. She'd go to put her key in the door and her dog would bark at the door ready to greet her.
"Y/N you don't have to lie to me about that stuff, I would never judge or think differently of you." Peter's heart hurt watching Y/N stare at the house in front of them. "We'll stop at your actual apartment and you can pack a bag, you can spend the night with me tonight. Don't argue we're both tired and we have school in the morning. May won't even ask any questions. Trust me." Peter stated. Y/N closed her eyes and looked up at him. How did she get so lucky in the past 24 hours to have met someone like him?
"Okay.." Y/N didn't say anything else as she started walking towards her true apartment. Peter's hand slid down Y/N's arm from where he was holding it and began holding her hand while they walked.
"If you wanna talk about it I'm here." Peter didn't know whether to give her some space or to talk to her.
"Thank you, Peter, but I don't wanna talk about it, at least not right now," Y/N spoke softly and squeezed Peter's hand. She was grateful for his kindness but today had been a lot for her. She was too tired to talk about her trauma. Peter nodded at her and squeezed her hand back.
Once they had arrived at her apartment building Y/N told Peter to wait outside and that she would be right back. After getting a look at the building Peter was reluctant to let her go inside alone but remembered that she did live there. While inside Y/N packed a bag with a few outfits in it and ran to the bathroom to grab her toothbrush. Walking down the stairs towards Peter it seemed that he was on high alert, just waiting for something to happen.
"Ready to go?" Peter asked her while grabbing her bag, he now had both her bags.
"I'm all set. You know I can carry one of the bags, you don't need to carry both." Y/N smiled at him and shook her head.
"Naw I got it, don't even worry about it I'm stronger than I look," Peter smirked at her while flashing his muscles in an attempt to cheer her up. She let out a small laugh and shook her head.
__
Once they arrived back at Peter's apartment they quietly entered. Peter n noticed that all the lights were out and he turned behind him to Y/N and signaled to stay quiet. She nodded her head and followed behind Peter in the direction of his room. Peter placed her bags on his bed and sat down.
"Do you wanna take the bed and I'll take the floor?" Peter questioned. Y/N looked at the bed and then back up at Peter.
"I think we could both share the bed, I mean what is that? A queen?' Y/N didn't want to make it too obvious but she wanted to share the bed with him. Peter smiled softly at her.
"Uh yeah, I think so, I'm just gonna head to the bathroom to brush my teeth and get changed, I'll leave you here to get changed and then you can brush your teeth." Peter smiled at her.
Y/N grabbed her bag and began looking for the pajamas that she packed, While she was looking she realized that she packed two pairs of bottoms and forgot to pack a shirt. Shit. While sitting on the bed she waited for Peter to arrive back from the bathroom. Once Peter had walked into his room he had changed into his pajamas and sent a questioning look over at Y/N.
"You wearing that to bed?" Peter asked her.
"No uh, I forgot to pack a shirt to sleep in..." Y/N was looking down at her fingers while she played with her nails. Peter smiled to himself.
"I'll grab you one of mine, trust me they're comfy." Peter walked over to his closet and grabbed her his 'I love New York" t-shirt for her to wear. She grabbed it from him and thanked him in the process.
"I'll just change in the bathroom, thanks again for the shirt." Y/N smiled at him still embarrassed that she had to ask for one of his shirts.
___
Y/N had walked as quietly as she could towards the bathroom and brushed her teeth while staring at Peter's shirt. It was taking everything in her not to sniff the shirt. Once she was done brushing her teeth she changed into Peter's shirt and looked at herself in the mirror. His shirt was longer on her than her shorts were. It looked almost like she wasn't wearing anything else. She blushed to herself before heading out of the bathroom towards Peter's room.
Once entering back in his room she shut the door behind her before turning around towards Peter's bed. He looked up from his phone and glanced at her. Holy Shit. Peter couldn't help but blush at her. Seeing her in his shirt had more of an effect on her than she thought it would. She was gorgeous.
"My shirt looks good on you." Peter smiled at her and pulled the blanket back on his bed to invite her in. She smiled at him and got in bed next to him. Peter laid down and turned to face her. Y/N plugged her phone in and laid down facing Peter. They stayed in silence just looking into each other's eyes. Peter wanted nothing more than to kiss her, but he wasn't sure if that's what she wanted. Y/N glanced down at Peter's lips and he took that as an invitation to slowly move in towards her. Y/N closed her eyes and moved in towards him as well. Once their lips touched Y/N could feel the butterflies in her belly, he tasted like mint toothpaste. Peter moved his arm to grab her waist and pulled her in closer to him. Y/N put her hand on the back of his neck in an attempt to somehow pull his face closer to hers. Y/N pulled her leg over his and pushed Peter over onto his back with her sitting on his lap. Though the kiss broke it was only for a mere second before Peter was pulling her face back down to his. Y/N couldn't help but grind her hips against his in hopes of relieving some of the pressure between her thighs. Peter gripped her hips tightly and helped move her hypes in a rhythm they both seemed to like, very much. Y/N could feel his cock hardening through his pants. Y/N pulled back to catch her breath. Peter looked up at her and smiled.
"You okay?" Peter asked her. Y/N smiled and nodded her head blushing.
"Yeah, I'm okay, just not sure if I'm ready for more than this. At least not tonight. I'm so tired. sorry." Y/N felt bad that she was leaving him with a boner but she wasn't ready to do anything more.
"Don't apologize I completely understand. Let's go to sleep, you have a big day tomorrow." Peter was referencing the meeting that Y/N had with Tony after school tomorrow. Y/N nodded her head and gave Peter one last kiss before climbing off him and resting in her original spot next to him. Peter leaned over and kissed her forehead before putting his arms around her and falling asleep.
Y/N lay in bed thinking about the last 24 hours of her life. She was happy, and though she still had walls up around her heart she could feel them cracking. Peter was making her happier than she'd ever been in her entire life, and that scared her. She wanted to be happy, everyone does. But she was scared to let herself be happy, in fear that it would be ripped from her arms. Y/N looked over at Peter and studied his face. He was snoring softly and his face looked so peaceful. She envied Peter for the little family he had, the Avengers loved him and he had May to take care of him. Y/N had no one, She was excited to see Tony tomorrow after school and hopefully, her life would begin to change. She wanted happiness for herself. She deserved it.

A/N: Before yall read this please go read pt. 1, I added the link, hopefully, it works. if not it should be the last post on my page. I'll do a part 3 if this gets enough attention, I don't wanna be writing a series if no one reading it lmao, but I will be uploading more :) (not proof read whatsoever, praying it makes sense lmao)
Tumblr media
As you boarded the plane later that night, you couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The thought of meeting Bucky Barnes, a legendary figure known for his heroic acts during World War II and then as the Winter Soldier, both thrilled and intimidated you. However, your determination to help Steve and bring Bucky back overpowered any doubts you had.
During the flight, you couldn't shake off the feeling that something significant was about to happen. The weight of the mission weighed heavily on your mind. You decided to take a nap, trying to conserve your energy for the upcoming task ahead.
When you landed in Vancouver, you followed Steve's instructions and found the bag he mentioned hidden in a bathroom stall. You retrieved the burner phone and the car keys, feeling a little like a spy on a covert mission. You took a moment to call Steve, updating him on your arrival and reassuring him that you were ready to proceed.
As you drove toward the small town where Bucky was supposedly spotted, you couldn't help but think about the super soldier himself. You knew his history, his struggles, and the brainwashing he endured as the Winter Soldier. You wondered how you could possibly convince him to come back with you, especially when he had evaded everyone else, including Steve.
Arriving in the town, you checked out the safe house Steve had provided. It was a modest, inconspicuous place, perfect for lying low. You decided to rest for a few hours before starting your search for Bucky in the morning.
The next day, you set out to gather any information about Bucky's whereabouts. You talked to locals, showing them a picture of him discreetly to avoid drawing unnecessary attention. People seemed wary, reluctant to share any information. It was clear that Bucky had left an impression on this small community, and they weren't willing to betray him.
As the days passed, you remained persistent, following every lead, no matter how small. You sensed that someone was watching you, monitoring your every move. It was likely that Bucky knew someone was after him, and he was staying one step ahead.
One evening, as you returned to the safe house, you noticed a figure waiting outside. Your instincts kicked in, and you approached cautiously, prepared for anything. To your surprise, it was Natasha standing there.
"Nat! What are you doing here?" You were relieved to see her, knowing that her skills and experience could be valuable to you on the mission.
"I've been keeping an eye on you. Steve was concerned about sending you alone, so he asked me to watch your back," she said with a reassuring smile.
"Thank goodness. I could use some backup," you admitted, feeling relieved to have Natasha by your side.
The two of you formed a plan together, combining your resources and skills to track down Bucky. Natasha's expertise in espionage and infiltration, coupled with your combat and investigative skills, made for a formidable team.
As days turned into weeks, the chase intensified, leading you from one location to another, following any lead, no matter how faint. Along the way, you encountered dangerous situations, faced adversaries, and even discovered remnants of Bucky's past, which provided valuable insight into his state of mind.
As you got closer to Bucky, you couldn't help but empathize with him. The burden he carried, the remorse he felt for his actions as the Winter Soldier weighed heavily on his conscience. It became clear that convincing him to return was not just a matter of force but one of understanding and compassion.
Finally, after an intense cat-and-mouse game, you found Bucky in an isolated cabin deep in the wilderness. As you cautiously approached him, you could sense his hesitancy, his guard up. But you also saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes, a spark of humanity that you couldn't ignore.
You shared Steve's message with Bucky, appealing to his sense of loyalty and the possibility of redemption. You acknowledged his past, the pain he endured, and the person he could become if he chose a different path. Natasha's presence also played a significant role, her bond with Steve and her own transformation from an assassin to an Avenger resonated with Bucky.
"Bucky please, I know you don't want to live this life, a lonely life of living in the woods cutting off everyone around you. Come back with us, I promise things will be different, Steve is waiting for you." You never broke eye contact with him, fearing that if you took your eyes off him for even a second he'd flee and you'd never see him again.
"I can't, no one trusts me after what I've done, I mean why would they? the things I've done.. I mean they're unforgivable. You guys should just leave me here. I'm happy being alone." You could tell that Bucky didn't want to be alone he just didn't want to accept anyone's help. You sighed and glanced at Nat for help.
"Bucky no one blames you for what happened in the past, we can overcome those things and build you a better reputation. People just need to see the real you, the caring Bucky that Steve told us so much about." Nat always knew the right thing to say, Bucky looked at the ground as his shoulders hunched down and he fell to his knees.
You were stuck in the same spot you started in, not sure whether you should run over and help him or give him his privacy, Nat looked over at you and signaled you to go over. It took you a brief moment to gain the courage to walk over to him but once you did you could hear the soft sniffles and light breathing coming from him. He was crying. The Winter Soldier was crying right in front of your eyes, you never thought you'd see the day.
"Hey Buck, come back to the safe house with us, you can stay with us for the night and we'll leave for the compound in the morning, you should rest. I'm so sorry that you've had to go through this but we're here now, the Avengers are like family and Steve can't wait to see you." Bucky looked up at you and nodded his head, he looked utterly defeated, too tired and exhausted to speak.
You, Natasha, and Bucky returned to the safe house. You set up the bed for Bucky and decided that you and Nat could take turns sleeping on the couch. After leaving Bucky you returned back to the living room and plopped down onto the couch.
"I can't believe we finally did it, it feels like a dream. I can't wait to tell Cap he's gonna be excited!" You exclaimed while looking for your burner phone that Steve gave you months ago.
"Don't worry about it kid, I told him already, he's already making up a room for Bucky at the compound. I didn't think about waiting for you to tell him, sorry about that. But hey, on the plus side he did say he was proud of you, who knows, maybe you'll even get promoted." Nat said while getting comfortable on the couch. "You mind if I sleep first? I'm exhausted?" She asked while her eyes drifted shut. You didn't get the chance to reply before she was letting out soft snores.
And so, Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, returned with you and Natasha to the Avengers' headquarters. The reunion with Steve was both emotional and heartwarming. You could see the weight lifted off his shoulders, knowing that his friend was back and that he hadn't given up on him.
"Buck you have no idea how much I've missed you, you should've never run off, I lost you once I can't do it again." Steve's eyes started to tear up as he hugged his best friend.
Bucky hugged Steve in a tight grip, almost as if he couldn't believe he was actually here hugging his best friend. "I'm here now Steve, and I'm not going anywhere." Bucky's eyes were squished shut as he held onto Steve.
Little did you know that this was just the beginning of a series of extraordinary adventures that awaited you as a vital member of the Avengers team. The journey ahead was filled with challenges, victories, and personal growth, but you were ready for whatever came your way, thanks to the trust and support of your newfound family.
And so, the next chapter of your life as a superhero and an Avenger began, as you faced the ever-changing world, always ready to protect and serve, no matter the odds.
The End... or rather, the Beginning.

As you walked down the hallway towards Steve's office you knew that you were about to be sent on a mission. You were more than excited to finally get back out into the field as it had been weeks since.. the incident. It wasn't your fault that someone had decided to plant a bomb in the exact same spot you had decided to walk. Knocking on Steve's door you heard him mumble something under his breath along the lines of "come in". Walking into his office you noticed how Steve was clearly distracted by something on his computer.
"Hey Cap, what's up?" You didn't want to make it too obvious that you were excited to go on a mission as you could tell that something was troubling Steve. He looked up from his computer and sighed.
"I need you to do me a favor, off the record." Steve looked you in the eyes as he spoke in a hushed tone. okay, now you're worried.
"Okay... what's going on." You could tell that he didn't exactly know how to express what he was feeling at that moment.
"I have a mission for you, and I need you to do it alone. I don't trust anyone to get it done other than you. I know that your skills will come in handy." Steve never really liked sending people on missions alone so you knew this was serious.
"Listen Cap you know I'll do anything for you, you're like my big brother, tell me what's going on." You hated that he was struggling to get the words out. Steve sat up in his chair and leaned over his desk to get closer to you. You sat forward and waited for him to tell you what was bothering him.
"It's Bucky, I got a tip from an undercover S.H.I.E.L.D agent that he was spotted in a small town just north of Vancouver, I need you to go and get him, please." Steve looked you in the eyes as he spoke, you knew he was worried about Bucky.
"Steve, I don't know... I'm not so sure it's such a good idea to send me... I don't have any sort of powers... I haven't taken the super soldier serum like you have, I stand absolutely zero chance of bringing him in." You weren't sure why Steve would choose you to bring in Bucky when he could ask Nat, she's way more capable of winning him over than you.
"I can't ask anyone else, after the Accords the Avengers are being watched, I need you to do it, you're the next best thing, you have the highest success rate on missions and you're fast so you can keep up with him." Steve was practically begging you at this point, how could you say no.
"Thanks for the confidence boost but I wouldn't say I'm nearly as fast as Bucky, but I'll try..." you could tell that Steve was relieved.
"Thank you Y/N... I mean it, this means the world to me, I'd go myself if I could. I booked you a flight tonight at 11pm, you'll pack a small bag, carry-on size, then you'll land in Vancouver and there will be a bag in one of the bathroom stalls for you. Inside the bag will be a burner phone and two sets of keys, one will be a car key, the other a key for a safe house in Vancouver. The phone will have my number on it so that we can keep in contact while you're there." Steve was rushing to get all the information out as he scrambled to try and find something on his desk.
"Once I do find him... how do you expect me to convince him to come back here with me, if he wouldn't come back for you, his best friend. Why would he come back for me? I mean I've never even met him." You were seriously starting to doubt his plan.
"Just trust me, I'll explain more once you land in Vancouver." Steve finally found what he was looking for on his desk and he handed you a plane ticket. "Don't overthink it, please."
"Okay... I promise I'll do everything I can to bring him back here." You looked down at the plane ticket and decided that no matter what you wanted to do this for Steve.
"Thank you Y/N, now go pack, something light don't forget, don't worry about weapons I have the car packed with everything you'll need. Just pack clothes and such." You took Steve's words as him dismissing you, and you got up to leave.
Heading back toward your room you had thoughts of doubt running through your head. You were by far the most skilled S.H.I.E.L.D. agent but that doesn't mean you can go around fighting super soldiers. Once you arrived back at your room you packed a small bag filled with your daily essentials. once packed you looked at your watch and realized it was 8pm and that you should probably head out now. Heading for the elevator you bumped into Peter.
"Hey! Where are you heading? Going on a trip? fun, I never get to go on any trips, or are you going on a mission? can I come?" Pete was talking a mile a minute as he looked up at you with wide hopeful eyes.
"Not this time Pete, I'm just going on a little trip, I'll be back in a few days." You tried really hard to not look at his puppy dog eyes.
"Aw, okay. Well, have fun!" Peter looked sad for all of 3 seconds before he ran off down the hall.
As the elevator doors opened you stepped in and looked back at your reflection in the doors. 'This should be fun' you thought to yourself.
To Be Continued...

A/N: This is literally the second fic I've written on this account, and I do promise that most of my content will be Marvel, but since I've finished season 4 of Stranger Things I couldn't help myself. I had to write an Eddie fic. So here it is, enjoy. Part 2 is already in the works. (Also sorry if there's any mistakes)

Walking into the woods behind the school your mind was racing. All you need was something to take the edge off, no one would even know you were even back here. Let alone meeting up with the school freak. You and Eddie had never really spoken before, with you being a cheerleader and him being... well, him. There was never any reason for you two to interact, that was until you couldn't sleep at night. You spent most of your nights tossing and turning in bed when you should be fast asleep getting your beauty rest. Instead, you lay awake with this awful feeling in your stomach that something bad is going to happen. You can't explain it and you wish more than anything that it would go away, you have the worst undereye bags you've ever seen and you're having trouble focusing in class and at cheer practice. You can't think of anything else that could help you, so you walked up to Eddie after the big game today when he was leaving Hellfire club and asked him to meet you in the woods behind the school.
As you were walking through the woods towards the picnic table that Eddie did most of his deals at you got that feeling again, that sinking feeling in your stomach that something bad was going to happen. You closed your eyes and took deep breaths in hopes to calm yourself down. Just as you were working on slowing your heart rate you felt a hand on your arm. Startled, you jumped back and screamed, looking up you noticed it was just Eddie.
"Woah hey, I didn't mean to scare you, you alright?" Eddie asked with a serious look on his face, you could tell he really didn't mean to scare you. You took one last deep breath and shook your head to focus better.
"Uh, yeah I'm good... Do you have the stuff?" You didn't want to sound rude or anything but you really just wanted to go home and finally get some sleep. Eddie sat down at the picnic table and set a metal lunch box in front of him.
"Come sit. You know, most people try to sweet talk me into getting a deal." Eddie smiled and flipped open the lunch box. You slowly walked over and took a seat across from him.
"Yeah well... I'm not in the mood to talk about your hair or your band, I just wanna go home." You looked him in the eyes and you could tell he noticed there was something wrong with you.
"Hey, I know we don't really know each other and I know we're not friends. But if something's bothering you, you can tell me. I happen to be a really good listener." He smiled at you while resting his elbows on the table and placing his face in his hands as if waiting for you to tell him your story.
"Thanks Eddie, I don't really think you wanna hear about all my problems though, I'll just take the weed and leave you alone." You gave a soft smile back, trying to seem as nice as possible without having another panic attack, your heart just wouldn't stop racing.
"Oh I love hearing about other people's problems, reminds me that I'm not the only person with issues. It's okay if you don't want to talk about it right now, but I'm gonna right my number down and if you ever need someone to talk to, someone who won't judge you no matter what you say, don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call me." Eddie pulled a piece of paper and a pen out of the lunch box and scribbled down his number.
"Thanks Eddie that means a lot." You watched him write down his number while you tried to calm your nerves. Despite being so extremely tired your leg wouldn't stop bouncing. You placed your hand on top of your thigh and dug your nails into the skin in hopes to distract yourself.
"Okay, so here's my number, and here are the goods" Eddie smiled as he pushed his number and a bag of weed towards you.
"How much do I owe you? I only brought $20." You asked as you reached your hand into your jacket to pull out the money.
"You know what, don't even worry about it, it's your first time and you seem to be going through it. Plus, I'll give you the pretty girl discount, and with all that factored in, it brings your total to $0." Eddie laughed while he closed the lunch box. You chuckled softly and shook your head.
"You're a dork Munson, but seriously, thank you. You have no idea how much I need this" You smiled softly at Eddie and put the bag of weed into your pocket.
"Hey, Don't mention it, let me know if you ever need any more. You know where to find me." Eddie got up from the table and offered to walk you back to the school so you weren't wandering through the woods alone in the dark.
As you were walking out of the woods you came to a complete stop. Feeling your stomach drop completely, you fell into a cold sweat. It was like you were having an out-of-body experience. Your mind was somewhere else entirely, it looked like the Hawkens you knew, except different... darker... scarier.
"Hey! What's wrong? You okay?" Eddie was waving his hand in front of your face to get your attention but you couldn't see him, it was like you were stuck. You could hear a voice talking, one you couldn't recognize. It was saying something but you couldn't quite understand what was being said. As Eddie put his hands on your shoulders and shook you, the voice stopped and you came back to reality.
"What the hell happened Y/n?!" Eddie was looking at you with wide eyes and concern written all over his face. You looked up at him and shook your head.
"I... I don't know, it's been happening for about a week now. I can hear this voice in my head... but I can't make out what they're saying. I haven't been able to sleep much, I have this bad feeling and it won't go away... this feeling that something really terrible is gonna happen." You could feel the tears fill your eyes as Eddie gave you a sympathetic look. You shook your head and wiped away the tears before you could start crying.
"Sorry, you probably think I'm insane, I'm just gonna go. Thanks again." You had started to rush off in the direction of your house but Eddie grabbed your arm to stop you.
"Hey. Why don't you let me give you a ride home, after what I just witnessed you shouldn't be walking home alone in the dark." Eddie nudged his head in the direction of his van.
"Okay... I would really appreciate that thank you." You had felt better knowing that you wouldn't have to walk home alone, you were already on edge.
As you walked in the direction of Eddies van you noticed he had been saying something to you, but you hadn't been paying attention.
"Sorry what?" You asked as you stopped in front of the passenger side of the van.
"I was saying sorry about the mess, I haven't had a chance to really clean it that well" He had a light blush on his cheeks as if he were embarrassed.
"It's no problem I don't mind." Eddie opened the door for you and you hopped in. Once he had shut the door you took a moment to think about what happened, where did your mind go and why is this happening to you. You wonder if you were going crazy just like your dad had all those years ago. Once Eddie got in the van and started it you felt the warm air from the vent blow onto your face and you could feel yourself calm down a bit.
"So, you gonna tell me where I'm headed?" Eddie smiled in your direction, hands gripping the wheel ready for you to tell him where you lived.
"Oh shit, yeah, uh I live over at 2532 Maple Street." You mumbled.
"Alrighty then let's get you home, hey... isn't that the same street the Wheeler's lives on?" Eddie questioned.
"What? Oh, you mean Mike and Nancy? Yeah, they're my neighbor's." You smiled and looked out the window.
"Huh... small world, I've driven Mike home from Hellfire club too many times to count, who knew I was driving past your house on the daily." Eddie chuckled and looked over in your direction.
Throughout the entire drive home, you tried your best to keep your nerves calm. You kept thinking about your little episode earlier in the woods with Eddie, who was that voice, and what were they saying. You have never been able to make out exactly what the voice was saying and if they were even speaking to you directly, though deep down you knew they were talking to you. No matter how hard you tried you could feel something terrible was coming and that there was nothing you or anyone could do to stop it. Just as Eddie was pulling into your driveway he started speaking to you again.
"Okay, you're home safe now. Please remember what I said earlier, don't hesitate to call me if you need anything, I'm headed home right now anyway I have to meet Chrissy." Eddie said looking at the time on his watch. You scrunched your nose up in thought.
"Chrissy Cunningham?" You questioned, why would she need anything from Eddie, She was the picture of perfection.
"Yup, the head cheerleader herself. I guess she's been having some headaches or something, I don't know." Eddie shrugged not really caring. You looked over at your house and noticed the porch light flickering. You'll have to remember to tell your parents that they'll need to replace it.
"Thanks again for the ride, I guess I'll see you around." You gave Eddie a small smile and opened the door to jump out.
"Have a good night, let me know if the weed helps you sleep or if you need anything stronger," Eddie said.
You shut the van door and walked up to your driveway to your front door you knew Eddie dealt drugs stronger than weed, you just didn't want to mess with anything like that though. Not with the issues you already have, you would imagine it would make things way worse.
After walking through the front door you walked towards your room. hellbent on smoking and falling asleep. Once getting inside your room you sat on the bed, pulling out the weed from your pocket and the rolling papers you had stashed in your bedside table drawer. You rolled a joint as best as you could while your hands were shaking, it wasn't the best but it would work. You ignited the one end, brought the other to your lips, and inhaled. You felt instant relief, your nerves calmed down and you got a bit drowsy. You finished off the rest of the joint and decided to lay back in bed and close your eyes. Sleep eventually took over you.
_____
You awoke a few hours later to what sounded like stones being thrown at your bedroom window. You crawled out of bed to glace outside your window. Though it was extremely dark you could still make out the outline of Eddie. You lifted up your window and stuck your head out.
"What are you doing Munson? What time is it?" You admit you were a little bitter that he had woken you up when you had finally been able to fall asleep.
"You need to get down here right now!" Eddie was being as quiet as he could while still being as urgent as possible. You were worried, to say the least, you could tell he was freaking out.
"Okay Munson calm down, I'll be out in a second." You pulled your head back inside and shut the window before making your way out of your room to meet Eddie. Once you opened the front door Eddie grabbed your arm and pulled you outside, he looked like he'd seen a ghost.
"Are you okay Eddie? What's wrong? Did something happen?" You tried to calm him down by rubbing his arm and seeing what's got him so worked up.
"No, I'm not okay. I went home tonight after dropping you off and Chrissy came over, well we went inside and I was looking for the special k to give her, and when I came back to her she was in some sort of trance, kind of like the one you were in earlier today. Except she started to float off the ground and then all the bones in her body broke and she fell to the floor... I don't... I know I sound crazy and you might not believe me but I just felt like coming here would be better... with what you went through being so similar to Chrissy. I just don't know what just happened I'm scared." Eddie was on the verge of tears as he was explaining his experience with Chrissy.
"Wait... So, Chrissy's dead?" You weren't exactly sure what to say. You were in shock. You couldn't believe that your classmate was dead, someone you had known since you were a kid, dead. Eddie turned his head towards you and gave you a look.
"We're you even listening to what I was saying, she's not just dead, almost all the bones in her body broke, like all of them, and she was floating in the air, almost 6 feet off the floor. That shits not possible." Eddie looked you in the eyes and you could tell he was telling you the truth. I mean who would make something like this up.
"Okay, Eddie I believe you, is her body still at your trailer?" You were trying to be the reasonable one now, trying not to think about what Eddie had said about how right before Chrissy died she had had an episode just like the ones you had been having, was something like that going to happen to you?
"I mean yeah I didn't pick up her mutilated body and move it somewhere, I was scared man, I ran out of there so fast. Who knew if I was next." Eddie couldn't sit still as he was pacing back and forth in front of you.
"Okay well is there somewhere you can hide for now? I mean someone is gonna wonder where she is... what about Jason? I mean I heard them talking earlier today about having plans tonight, don't you think he's gonna wonder where she is?" You were starting to freak out.
"It doesn't matter anyway, my uncles gonna come home from work in the morning and see her, I mean everyone's gonna think this was me, I mean have no proof that it wasn't. God, I'm so fucked right now. Everyone already thinks I'm a freak, now I'll be a psycho too." You could tell Eddie was on the verge of a panic attack.
"Okay, do you know somewhere safe you can hide? I mean I'd offer you to stay here but it's not exactly the safest place, I mean my mom comes into my room all the time, she'd definitely see you." You were thinking of places you could hide Eddie, at least until you could figure out what was going on.
"I mean I could try Wheelers..."

Adult Slumber Party
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Summary: Going on missions was something you and Bucky were very familiar with, but this situation you both were currently in.. well, that was new.
Warnings: Profanity. Minors DNI. Kinda filth.
Word Count: 2K words
A/N: This happens to be the first fic I’m posting on this account so please be nice about it, also please let me know if you like it. I can make a part 2 if y’all want.
Tumblr media
You had never been one to play nice when it came to missions. You liked to get in, get the job done, and get out. Simple as that. Maybe that's why you and Bucky made such a good team. You both had never failed a mission before. Until now.
This mission was meant to be simple. Get the file and leave, you were told that the building was going to be abandoned, vacant. With the position you two were currently in. Clearly, that wasn't true.
"You know this never would have happened if you had just listened to me," you grumbled while glaring at the side of Bucky's face. He hasn't looked up from his phone for the last hour.
"If I had listened to you we both would be dead right now sweetheart. Do you really think those men back there weren't going to kill you?" He sighed, clearly exhausted while still looking down at his phone.
"If you had just let me finish the plan properly we wouldn't be walking to the safe house right now, we would be on the jet going home." You bit back rolling your eyes. You knew this was partly your fault. Bucky was right about those men, they definitely would have killed you eventually. But you would never admit that to him, you were just tired and your feet hurt from all this walking. You wanted nothing more than to be sitting on the jet on your way home to your warm bed. Instead, here you were in the middle of nowhere walking with Bucky in the woods trying to locate the safe house Steve had told you two to find if the mission went wrong.
"Do you think that you could just stop talking for maybe ten minutes? that would be great." He mutters while holding his phone up in the air to get a better signal. "I think we're almost there, it should just be up this hill a bit more."
"Well for your sake you better hope your right, I don't think I can walk any further." You grimace thinking about the state your leg muscles will be in tomorrow. You can practically hear Bucky roll his eyes at your comment.
"Maybe if you joined Steve and me in the gym instead of skipping training every morning you wouldn't be complaining so much right now," Bucky looked up from his phone to smirk in your direction.
This man really had the nerve to criticize you, was he wrong? no, but that doesn't give him the right to bring it up.
"Maybe if Steve didn't make the training time six in the fucking morning you would see me there. I need my beauty rest." Bucky scoffed at that- he actually scoffed. Oh, this fucker is about to get it. "I'm sorry, is there something you would like to say to me?" You glare at the side of his face, you're giving him a chance to explain himself, he better not fuck this up.
He shakes his head, "I just think if you went to bed earlier then maybe it wouldn't be so hard for you to make it to training in the morning. Your room is next to mine you think I don't hear you shuffling around all night?" what-
You glare at him, "If you can hear me every night why didn't you say something earlier? It's not like I'm loud or anything." If he can hear you even when I'm trying to be quiet what else can he hear...
You didn't notice Bucky had stopped walking until you slammed face-first into his back, stepping around him to see why he stopped you noticed the little cabin in front of you, great, this had to be the smallest cabin you had ever seen. It doesn't even look big enough to have a bathroom.
Deciding to take matters into your own hands you stomp towards the door, with or without Bucky, you needed to put your feet up. After pushing for what felt like forever you finally got the door open.
"Jesus... I'm gonna smack Steve the next time I see him. What the hell is this place?" Looking around the cabin you noticed it must have been set up for one person to occupy.
Bucky walked up behind you to see what you were talking about. You felt the vibration of him hum against your back. "At least there's a bed, it could be worse."
You rolled your eyes at him, you knew this was going to suck. You just pray that Steve notices that you guys should've been home by now and is on his way to pick you guys up.
Walking inside all you could smell was musty wood and dust, you glanced around the room and noticed the bathroom thinking that maybe a shower would be good for you. "I think I'm gonna take a shower, you should see what's going on for food here, hopefully it's not all expired." Your snide comment made Bucky chuckle and shake his head.
"Don't use all the hot water," Bucky shouted as you shut the bathroom door.
Turning to look at yourself in the bathroom mirror you noticed how miserable you looked. Blood and dirt coat your face, some strands of hair out of your ponytail. You looked like a real mess. Shaking your head you walked over to the shower and turned the water on hot, thinking maybe that would help the pain in your muscles.
Undoing the zipper of your suit that had been clinging to your body for hours, you let it fall to the floor as you stepped into the shower. Feeling the hot water flow down your skin washing away all the dirt and grime of the day you can't help but rest your body against the side of the shower wall and take a second to relax.
Damn you can't wait to get home and out of the woods.
Finishing up in the shower you stretch to reach the towel hanging on the wall beside the shower. As you dry your body off you freeze as you realize that you don't have a change of clothes to put on. Shutting your eyes you let out a groan. Just perfect.
Shuffling over to the bathroom door you crack it open taking a peek outside into the hallway, the coast looks clear. Deciding to make a break for the bedroom in hopes to find clothes to change into you pray you won't run into Bucky.
Opening the door to the bedroom your body slams into a hard chest, surprised you look up and lock eyes with a shirtless Bucky. Catching your breath you stumble away from Bucky and sit on the bed "Jesus you almost gave me a heart attack, what are you even doing in here?" you breathe out trying to not let your eyes wander down his chest.
Bucky, on the other hand, has no shame in letting his eyes wander down your damp body covered in a small towel. "I came in here to grab a change of clothes before taking a shower, which is something maybe you should have done." He smirks while letting his eyes linger on your thighs.
You scoff "Okay well now that you have your change of clothes why don't you go ahead and take your shower so that I can get changed."
Bucky chuckles at your comment. "Don't let me being here stop you from dropping that towel babycakes." You squeeze your legs together at his comment. praying that he didn't notice. Of course, he did, he had been starring at her legs for longer than he probably should've been.
"Bucky, get out so I can get changed. Now." You mentally slapped yourself as you could hear your voice shake. Perfect.
Bucky couldn't help but smirk as he walked out of the room. "Alright, I'm going. I might have to take a cold shower now though. Gotta get the image of your legs out of my head." Bastard.
After getting changed you walked out into the hallway heading towards the kitchen. As you passed by the bathroom you noticed the shower wasn't running, Bucky must be done in the shower.
Glancing around the kitchen you decided to check out what food is in the fridge, praying for something good. As you open up the fridge door you hear Bucky exit the bathroom. Deciding to ignore him and keep your eyes on the fridge you notice there's not much in here. Obviously, nothing that would expire quickly like milk or eggs. You did spot a jar of pickles in the door, delicious.
After grabbing the jar and turning towards the counter you try and twist the top of the jar off but it just wouldn't budge. You could feel Bucky's eyes on you. "Did you need some help with that? Or did you just want to keep struggling there?" He smirked.
You gave him a dirty look, "I don't need your help I'm perfectly capable of getting the lid of this jar, it's just taking a second." You refused to accept his help. You're an avenger for god sake, you can open a fucking jar. It's just this jar in particular is stubborn. Deciding to hold the jar between your legs and twist as hard as you can the lid finally pops off. Ha- that'll show him. Lifting your head to glance in Bucky's direction you hold up the now open jar in one hand and the lid in the other. "See, I told you I didn't need your help."
Smiling to yourself you reached your fingers into the jar and pulled out a particularly big pickle. Not thinking anything of it you bite the tip of the pickle off and suck out some of the juices. Suddenly remembering Bucky is in the same room you freeze. Shit.
With the pickle still in your hand, you turn your head towards him, it’s almost like his eyes have gotten.. darker? “You enjoying that pickle doll?” He asked, his voice as lower than normal. You gulped. oh god. “Yeah, I love pickles” You’re not entirely sure what to say in this situation. You didn’t entirely mean for him to see you sucking on a pickle.
Bucky smirked walking towards you “Why don’t you come over here, I have something better you can suck on.” Your eyes widen at his comment thinking maybe you heard him wrong. “So- sorry.. what did you say?” Of course, you had to stutter. Great. He chuckled walking closer to you until he was right in front of you, you tilted your head to keep eye contact with him, eyes wide.
What is happening right now?!
Bucky grabbed the pickle that was in your hand and put it against your lips “Suck.” He spoke, voice clear and deep. Jesus. Your brain must be malfunctioning because all you can do is stare up at him wide-eyed. “Do I need to repeat myself baby? You seemed to be doing fine earlier, come on, open that dumb little mouth of yours and suck”
Opening your mouth Bucky shoved as much of the pickle in your mouth as he could manage. You obeyed him instantly sucking on the pickle while maintaining eye contact with him. “What a good little dumb bunny you are baby, doing what you’re told.” You just hummed and bobbed your head on the pickle.
Bucky pulled the pickle out of your mouth setting it against the counter. He grabbed you by the hair and slammed your mouth against his in a heated kiss. He shoved his tongue in your mouth. There was no battle for dominance in this situation, he already had it. You basically melted into the kiss.
Bucky pulled back from the kiss to look you in the eyes. “Come to the bedroom with me doll, I promise you won’t regret it.” He smirked while grabbing your wrist and tugging you along.
This should be fun.

Hello:)
I've always wanted to start writing fics and just never did anything about it, I guess it's now or never. Can't promise anything about the quality or quantity of the fics that I post as this is my first time doing anything like this.
I'm definitely open to suggestions or requests that might get the creative juices flowing. As someone who reads fics on a regular basis, I would say I'm more of a Bucky girl though I do read my fair share of Loki and Spider-man fics. I do read the occasional Stucky x reader fic if I'm in the mood.
I read a lot of smut fics or angsty fics, so that might be where I'll start writing- start with what you know - once I get the hang of things I'll organize my blog better but for now- this is me :) Welcome to my shit show.
I would also like to add that if I'm going to be writing smut fics and such- this account would strickly be 18+, I will do my best to put warnings on posts that need them. Please do not read anything that isn't age-appropriate for you.
I guess I could start by telling you guys a bit about myself, I'm 21 years old and an Aquarius, I'm two weeks away from turning 22. I started watching marvel three years ago and it's safe to say I'm clearly obsessed. I'm Canadian and I have two cats. I love music more than anything but I HATE country.
I'm not sure when I'll post my first fic but when I do I hope that you guys will enjoy it.
Thank you :)
