Genuine icon and proof that age is no excuse for bigotry. Hope she makes a full recovery and can remain in post for the next two years.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg Through the Years
A groundbreaking litigator for women’s rights before being appointed to the bench, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has worn many aspects in her eighty-five years. On the Justice’s birthday, flip through some photographs of her as a girl in Brooklyn, as a law graduate who left Columbia as co-valedictorian (but with no job offers), as a young mother, and as an advocate whose greatest legacy may be in the cases that she argued before what was then an all-male Supreme Court—and won.

The Viral 3-Year-Old Who Stood in Awe of Michelle Obama’s Portrait Dressed Up as Her for Halloween
What better way to use Halloween than to dress up as someone you admire? For many children that’s fictional characters like Wonder Woman, but for 3-year-old Parker Curry, there was only one option: Michelle Obama.
You may remember Parker (aka the cutest little girl on the planet) from when she went viral in March 2018 for standing in awe of the former First Lady’s portrait at the National Portrait Gallery. The moment was beautiful and captured the attention of people all over the Internet — including Michelle Obama herself, who invited Parker to meet her in person. After their visit, she Tweeted, “Keep on dreaming big for yourself…and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you!”
So, for Halloween this year, Parker did dream big and decided to dress up as her hero. When her mom, Jessica asked her what she wanted to be this year, she knew right away. ““Flat out. No hesitation. Half of a second later. ‘I want to be Michelle Obama,’ and I was like Whoa,” Jessica told Buzzfeed News. “I thought she was going to be like, 'I want to be Elsa or some other character like that.”
