Heard some important information on Twitter today, and thought I’d post it here for anyone who may not have heard it. This is actually a thing, devised by human rights organisation called Karma Nirvana.

My grandparents are baffled when we just don’t care about certain things. The last time we did a socially distanced lunch they were complaining that our neighbor keeps really old broken cars that he likes to work on in his front yard and we were like “Yeah, and?” and they didn’t know how to respond to that.
Like the very idea that we would just mind our own business and tolerate mildly annoying behavior from other people is like rocket science to them. They just can’t comprehend it.

Does anyone else feel, like, a weird inhibition against starting new TV shows?  Like, there are shows I want to watch but when I think about sitting down to start it something in me goes “no you can’t just do that.”  What am i waiting for?  I feel like I need to prepare?  Brain:  You have to wait.  Me:  Wait for what???  Brain:  WAIT

Full offense but sometimes fandom just totally make up the characterization of a character and then complain when that isn’t canon

You live in a house with ur bf and you have a small garden that you tend to so you can grow your own food. You can make your own bread. But still enjoy the niceties of the city.

Does anyone else find it weird when closeted people are made to be the villains in every piece of media? Books, TV shows, movies? All the time, when a queer relationship is broken up, it’s because one of them is closeted and doesn’t feel comfortable expressing their love for their partner in front of possible homophobic family or friends or town. I don’t understand why everyone would think it would be a good idea to portray people who probably aren’t able to come out for certain reasons (homophobic family, friends, possibly life threatening, possible hate crime) as the villains.
If you don’t want to come out to your family/friends/town because you’re afraid of what they’ll say or how they’ve acted beforehand, that is perfectly alright. It is your choice. There is no deadline of when you have to come out.
As for the out LGBT, it is also your choice to date someone closeted. But you can’t date them and be mad when they don’t want to “shout their love from the rooftops” for you. They’re not going to - not until they feel comfortable enough.
If you date someone and you know that they’re closeted, and you break up with them because they won’t come out and make your relationship open, then you are an awful person. I don’t think you guys deserve for that to be sugar-coated. You knew what it took to date someone closeted, and you still did it, and you still broke their hearts and made them feel invalid.
All I’m saying is that it’s time for people to stop acting like you have to come out. Like you have to announce to the world who you are. It’s unnecessary pressure and shouldn’t be encouraged.
