How the Four sword works in LU:
Sunset pt 8 & 9 Posted at the same time b/c I figured I'd show him split in its entirety to avoid any wrong impressions on how the Four sword works in LU
So let me explain:
All the colors make up the sum of his person. The 4 are his 'true colors' in that they show what he is really like. They reveal the true nature to his character.
Four doesn’t hear separate conversations in his head. He doesn’t have separate/multiple personalities. He is not a “system”. I'm using very little from the manga (As a side note: Vio IS Link(No LxL)). Any “I” or “me” from the colors is not meant as a declaration identifying separately from his complete self.
Furthermore, while his power is multiplied by 4, He is ONE personality but the unique perspective of each color is actually different aspects of his thought process that is made audible.
Here is some future dialogue from Four: "…My opinions, my doubts, even my innermost feelings on things…The Four Sword puts all of it on full display…"
Disagreements mean Four is honestly unsure of something. The same way you could debate with yourself to go to bed on time. You are still one person, one single personality, yet here you are with a conversation debating the pros and cons of sleep.
Everything the colors say is an honest thought from Four, But depending on who says it, is a point of interest to understand Four as a character. Red is sentimental, it's no coincidence that he's the one  aggressively concerned for Twilight and the others, therefor Four deeply cares for his friends. Vio as his reasoning, is unable to counter the extreme concerns from Blue, Red and Wild, and thus surrenders to confusion. Blue, being his anger, ls lashing out at Wild and the rest of himself in this high stress situation. He lashes out at red for thinking the worst and then at Vio desperately wanting some answers from him. But Four knows anger is not the solution to anything so Blue kept silent to Green's reprimand. In other words, Four is just as distraught  as Wild. Four's Green is losing his heroic composure over himself

Gosh I'm so in awe of jojo's writing because like??? Looking back now, of course Four would split at this point. He's the one who has emphasized how important teamwork is, and a lot of this arc has been the group's cooperation deteriorating as their uncertainty causes clashing in their methods and breaks up their communication. Who else to try to enforce group work other than Mr. "I think you'll find it has its benefits" himself? Things are hectic and he knows things need to be brought back into order to keep things from going even more wrong, what better way than to bring out a "group" that can help emphasize that?

I'm thinking about that one explanation of tragedies as heroes in the wrong story, people doing the right things in the wrong time and place, and I can't help but feel like that's what's happening in LU's Sunset arc. Because honestly, given all of their experience, you could argue that the Links are justified in doing what they do that pisses the others off or causes conflict. But you can also say that the others are justified in being frustrated. Both are right. Neither are wrong. And that's why everything is only getting worse for them. Because there's always the argument of "in my experience this has helped" but this is completely unlike any experience they have, but what else are they supposed to rely on? So they fall back on what they know, not realizing that it's so contrary to the others' normal and only causes more conflict between them.

Minish Cap little mermaid AU in which Link somehow ends up in the minish realm as a baby and grows up with Ezlo and Vaati in a dimension where no other humans exist.
The human realm, being parallel to the minish realm, is seen through shadows, wispy apparitions of humans walking through the forests like ghosts in the night, and the princess of Hyrule happens to visit this forest a lot.
All growing up, Princess Zelda thinks of Link as her imaginary friend, someone she can disclose all her secrets to when no one at the castle will understand. She can't see him, and he can barely see her, but they can hear each other, like the whisper of wind, and consider each other their closest friends.
On his sixteenth birthday, on the specific day of every 100 years, the two realms connect, but Link is forbidden his only chance to go through by the minish he lives with (particularly Ezlo) as they fear the dangers of the human realm and the inevitable darkness that comes to it. However, Link's adoptive brother Vaati hatches a plan to get the both of them through that portal without anyone ever knowing. And it has to do with a magic cap.
The magic cap is Ezlo's, their mentor and Link's adoptive father. Vaati isn't allowed near it, but Link takes the deal and sneaks it away. With the magic cap, Vaati restores Link's human height and turns himself into a hylian, and they both go through the portal into the human realm! However, in order to ensure Link's silence about their scheme, Vaati takes away Link's voice before abandoning him in the forest, completely lost.
Fortunately he's not alone! Unfortunately, it's his very angry father here with him, who caught them sneaking out and now Vaati turned him into a hat. Yeesh.
Extra fortunately, though, today is one of the days Princess Zelda comes into the woods to talk to her imaginary friend. She stumbles upon Link, a whole forest boy who was raised by mice people and doesn't speak a word, and brings him back to the castle with her. She has her suspicions, could this be her imaginary friend? But he has no voice, so that would be impossible.
Link, however, knows very well who she is, and honestly, he'd already fallen for her quite some time ago.
But he's only got three days before the minish portal closes again. How is he supposed to confess anything to her without a single word on his tongue?

I love thinking about the state of/differences between all the Links' eras, both for genuinely interesting things, and for just absolute nonsense.
For example, Four's home is small. It seems like there's fewer people and a smaller community. As such, the demand for certain labor isn't as high. Yes, the people need swords and jewelry and tablewear and tools, but they don't need enough to justify having someone specifically to make all of those things individually. In my head, Four fills all of those roles, as it's easier to have one occupation to cover all of those so less time is spent teaching more people to use a forge and make things from metal when really, one person or blacksmith shop could make all of those without there being a scarcity.
But Legend lives in what is probably a larger world with more people. By that point in time, the occupation of blacksmith would have diverged into the different types of metalwork. His blacksmithing would be more specialized than Four's, and he would spend most or all of his time making swords or blades or similar things.
And with this in mind, I can't get rid of the mental image of Four finding out that Legend is a blacksmith and rambling on about various types of metalwork and Legend getting annoyed like "Four I've told you this before, I'm a blacksmith my forge specializes in swords you're talking about jewelry I'm not a silversmith" and Four is just convinced that Legend is making up words that are like "blacksmith" just to mess with him.

Skyward Sword Link could say "respect women or die by my sword" and if you disrespected women he would be able to kill you with a sword that is also a woman and I think that's very iconic of him

I genuinely cannot decide if it would be funnier for the characters to get updated, more realistic 3d models, and still have them do the slapstick stuff, or for the entire world to be in that style and just have the toon models rendered for that.
The Spirit Tracks remake we deserve: everything is the same except it's in Twilight Princess' darker and edgier art style. All of the dialogue, all of the slapstick humor, all of the funny physical interactions between characters, all of it is the same, and it's just as wacky and goofy as the original, and nothing acknowledges the difference in appearance.
