Sometimes I don't plan to get anywhere when I start to draw; usually at mealtimes on an old bit of card, today's post or the weekends newspaper (it's The Irish Times in case you're wondering 🤔). Most times I'll be having a sick day...

Who doesn't pick up a pen absent mindedly while on the phone or something? The gaps just beckon on the page. The mugshot could do with an eyebrow Or in this case "why don't I use this instead of chucking it out?"

The need to fidget visually is in everyone regardless of artistic skill and regardless of awareness. Make a mark.....hey that looks nice...what if I add this detail Or just a little something here?

I don't know where it's going and I don't know what it is but it came from somewhere in me, it's a second voice that hardly makes a sound. It's a feeling.

Can you feel it?

Brave Kmuuguo🫡 with it's round shield, cut from the toughest bog oaks🌳 in a far away place at another time⌛....passed down through generations of Kmu'u warriors!⚔️ They have defended their clustered villages🛖 fiercely from the Kmuuguonn, the ones who may seem the same🤔😳 but are not from this village😲.....not from this mountain😲. Kmu'u and it's strong🪨 warrior ways may NOT be as great as the Glistening One's🌞 who sometimes visit and trade in strange clothes and magic carts🛶......but Kmu'u knows this is good enough🙂......this is all that is needed🙂, this village here on this mountain here♥️! Praise The Glistening One's🔥! May they bring good fish🐟 and hearty swill🍻.

I want to talk about work for a change. It's important to once in a while say something about what you're doing and where you're going with things. If I was still in art college I'd have endless notebooks (which I could never keep up with) and one of them would be something to do with process. If you're interested; I'm talking about YOU Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology...you tought me this (even if I didn't understand it then).

So here's an example... A lot of my Old ideas came from my head because I was a kid who just DREW but I can't say that now. Things don't crash land out of nowhere like a broken UFO.

Everything is derived from Something. Like this drawing. Even if I didn't know it at the time; I was borrowing the shape from 'The Little Tower' by Peter Brugel the Elder (c. 1563). It's a fun shape, a good painting with an interesting history and I guess my unconsious just latched onto it (the brain loves pattrens:-) ).

Does this make my drawing somewhat stolen? Is it mine at all? Well I drew it....but then again I could draw Mickey Mouse and get in a lot of trouble if I claimed he was mine. I'm no legel expert and I could argue this with you forever (as a lot of people do, endlessly) but I'm just asking; If I draw a picture derived from some other work or thing...is it mine at all? You could say (like Southpark once did) that it doesn't matter if somebody else did it; it's more the way you do it differently.

Add. So in future, if I think something is derived from something else, inspired by it or I wanna talk about what brought me 'Somewhere'. You'll get an Addendum, an addition of sorts. It's only fair. Maybe, also, we might all learn from it.

Everything we produce is only a maquette, a first form before the better one. The first footstep before the run....but even then, whatever we think our final project is....is also a maquette. Could also be something more. My work is That because half the time I'm sick and all the rest I'm busy. I'm sure you understand that. Wouldn't it be nice if we could do the better thing...go further with what we plan? So, after being so silent...after not posting enough for so long... Here's my maquette.

How Sure Are You That You Are Exactly What You Think You Are...? Maybe You Are A Bit More Or Something Else....? Try Out Some Other Shoes And Tell Me Later How It Felt...Was It What You Expected? Or Did You Lose The Something You Thought You Were?

The UngDo were only supposed to be toys for the younglings of the Kyaada. A bit of fun and nothing else. The HIGH amounts of super intelligence that the UngDo possess was merely a mistake, a crossed wire or something....yet something the Kyaada and their younglings didn't know about. UngDo know the specifics of everything they see and can improve ANYTHING they see to a level beyond perfection. There would be simply no more room for improvement if the UngDo worked on it; Life for the Kyaada would be in Human terms 'PARADISE'. Unfortunatly they were only built to be toys.....they roll in any direction and to the UngDos dismay are programmed to speak just 5 predetermined (and youngling friendly) phrases. Press a button and hear one of these 5 prerecorded phrases, made to delight and distract the younglings of the Kyaada. Nobody knows how clever the UngDo are but all agree they make great toys.
