Being Beron's son and even more so being his heir is a very inglorious place to be, but Eris has shown to be cunning enough to have survived this far. Eris can be arrogant and quite manipulative, but he already cares for those around him much more than Beron ever did, and I believe one day he will make a good High Lord for the Autumn Court.

Rhys prowled closer, and I steadied myself for his scent, his warmth, the impact of his power. He braced a hand on either side of me, gripping the dresser. I wasn’t some simpering fool. I knew the risks. And that tone, that look he always gave me… “Anything?”

His brows rose.

I breathed, “If I fucked him for it, what would you do?” - There’s nothing quite like Feysand’s acomaf dynamic, especially in the Summer Court where Rhysand’s jealousy begins to crack his facade, and we finally get a glimpse of his true feelings for his mate. @separatist-apologist and I KNEW we needed to comission a piece for this iconic scene for @officialfeysandweek2023 and @/jenna.draw did such an amazing job bringing their tension and chemistry to life!

When Lucien killed his brother while fleeing to the Spring Court, the act shifted from self-defense to pure vengeance.

Initially, it appeared that his brother had the upper hand, but it ended with him on his knees, pleading for his life. Lucien remained unmoved, beheading his brother before he could utter the word "mercy."

In Lucien's mind, he had eliminated his father's favorite son, the one who had tormented Jesminda and had delivered the final blow. As he mourned the loss of his former life in the days that followed, he realized that his brother's death, caused by his own hand, hadn't brought back the person he loved and hadn't made the grieving process any easier. He couldn't help but imagine his mother grieving the loss of not one, but three sons from her life.

To console himself, he recalled Tamlin's advice: it had been an act of self-defense. He had done the world a favor by eliminating his father's most likely successor. Tamlin had slain Lucien's second brother without a hint of remorse.

Lucien wondered if it was some High Lord mentality he lacked. Fortunately, he had never aspired to such heights.

He pondered whether he was any different from his brother. He had judged his brother as irredeemable, just as his brother had judged his lover as inferior. Could his brother have changed? Could he have realized the errors of his ways? Perhaps he had been playing the long game, pretending to gain his father's favor?

At that moment, Lucien realized that revenge was not his path. He would defend himself and kill if necessary, but he would never again pass judgment in the same harsh manner as he had with his brother.
