not necessarily a request but, what is some advice to give out for starting out a writing blog? i wanna make a writing acc for this one character from scream and i’m unsure if i wanna go through w it or not😭😭

hey! here's my monthly post lmao um- it's been a while but I am alive.

background on me, I try not to talk about myself very actively on this account because its like- not what I made the account for- but I have been writing online for a very long time now. I've run a couple of writing blogs here and there, but this is the first one to hit like, over 500 followers (thank you to anyone reading this, and to you who asked for perceiving my blog as well off enough to ask)

but I've run a couple of writing blogs here and there, and I'm not quite sure, in the grand span of slasher tumblr, if I'm really all that... successful? like, its hard to rank where I am?? I get active notes, but it's not just on my stuff, ya know. But I'm really grateful for that. I just don't know if I'm like "successful" enough to be giving marketing advice. I do have fun though!

i got good traction immediately on here because my first post was about a really niche character, and a bigger blog actually endorsed me. (the slasher fucker community is super nice!!!! you will be met with open arms! I got met with a shit ton of love and support when I first joined!!! everyone here is so sweet!!!!)

So before i like really go into advice - my first and foremost advice is do it!!! start writing!!!! its really fun. these little snippets i do help me when i write non-slasher stuff. 100% do it!!!!

my other advice is that you can totally have a blog dedicated to one character, but maybe consider having it dedicated to the scream franchise as a whole? or slashers over all (you can totally have a dedicated blog to a character, and still write for others on the side) I know some people are built for like- complete dedication to one thing, and idku personally, but a really rough thing to encounter is burn out, and if you're only focusing on that one character, it could be a little tiring if you want to experiment with writing over all! Know when you've hit your scream boy limit and see if anything else strikes you as valuable.
