Dance music icon Netsky has taken the drum & bass scene by storm since the announcement of his highly anticipated return to Hospital Records for his fourth studio album. ‘Second Nature’ represents Netsky’s everlasting love for his D&B roots that has sent shockwaves throughout the dance community. His journey comes full circle as his brand new record marks the 10 year anniversary since his self-titled Hospital debut, with collaborations on the 18-track long-player from Sub Focus, Becky Hill, Rudimental, Hybrid Minds, and Urbandawn to name a few. ‘Second Nature’ is teed up to be a remarkable and seminal release for drum & bass lovers around the world. Bringing his classic liquid sound into 2020 alongside New Zealand based prodigy Montell2099 who has worked with the likes of Diplo, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne and Mr. Carmack, future bass meets Netsky’s signature soulful groove on ‘Mixed Emotions’, paying tribute to New Zealand and the love and support he has received there over the past decade of his career as an artist and DJ. Multi Brit-Award winning drum & bass powerhouse Rudimental and their official vocalist Afronaut Zu jump into the picture for ‘Blend’, which sees groove filled vocals rolled out alongside a slick bassline, vibrant trumpets, Netsky’s feel-good melodies, and Rudimental’s signature uplifting style. Covering the Deniece Williams classic, ‘Free’ is reminiscent of Netsky’s love for funk & soul, introduced by his father from a young age, that can also be felt in ‘I Choose You’ (a cover of Willie Hutch’s ‘I Choose You) and ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’ (feat. Chantal Kashala & Daddy Waku)’ (covering Roy Ayers’ ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’). ‘Free’ takes you back to the original sounds of Netsky with a trademark liquid bassline and unforgettable brass topline, as sincere vocals and old school breakbeats tie the track together into a nostalgic number infused with the sounds of today. ‘Look At Me Go’ features breakbeat and UK hardcore champion Darren Styles. @netskyofficial #hospitalrecords #dnb https://www.instagram.com/p/CIrrpQaJT-1/?igshid=xhs7zcuks29

[A] Kaii Concept – Thinking About U: The Nu Dawn EP series returns with its 4th installment and opens with an NVR newcomer Kaii Concept and his track Thinking About U. A Liquid Drum & Bass track with inspiration deriving from the funk era, which becomes evident from the get go, as you are immersed in catchy synths and addictive vocals. Continuing to explore the experimental side to his production style, Kaii Concept contributes to the Nu Venture catalogue with an uplifting energetic tune featuring funky bass lines, elevating pads and a rolling dance floor beat to complete the unique feel good groove of Thinking About U. [B] Ground Unit – Nostalgia: Ground Unit returns to Nu Venture Records to present his emotional Liquid Drum and Bass track Nostalgia. From the beginning the all embracing natural strings from the intro emit a warm feeling and strong sense of sentiment, alongside the sweeping female vocals, as the sombre nature of this track begins to reveal itself. The drop releases a deep bass and mesmerizing synth pluck along with the atmospheric strings to culminate in a compelling feeling of nostalgia reminiscent of days gone by. [C] Foreign Shores – The Palms: Foreign Shores presents a feel good Liquid Drum & Bass track that opens with a soft chord progression and playful arpeggios, before dropping into a deep and dark bassline, working in tandem with the chords and twinkling arps. Progressing from the drop we see the introduction of a bright and catchy sax solo coming to the forefront to personify the enthusiastic nature of this track. In the build up to the second drop a lead synth is teased that punches through the mix with some minor undertones before returning to the positive and rolling vibes that The Palms exudes.#nudawn #nuventure #dnb #liquiddnb #bass #killconcept #groundunit @nu_venture_records https://www.instagram.com/p/CIrrdk4J1pN/?igshid=acwv75fxhqv5

Circumference, better known as Finlay Freshney-Lee and Kit Jones, are two 19-year old trailblazing producers from East Ham and Exeter respectively. Having met at college in 2017, the two have been largely inseparable since, dropping their first official release earlier this year with their remix of Paper Dragon’s ‘New Religion’. Now following up their beastly debut outing ‘Midsommar’ on ‘Soul Music 2020’ - the pair continue to show off their effortless versatility in this varied 2-track single. Opener ‘Inconsistent’ displays an almost inhuman, incomprehensible array of sounds and styles in under 4 minutes. The textured and uncertain intro builds tension, resulting in a bass laden, clicky groove. This is quickly followed by beefy, Noisia-esque drums and more impressive percussion and bass texturing. ‘Shlock’ on the other hand, backs up the swelling intro with snappy drums and powerful synth stabs that have all the hallmarks of a dancefloor damager. The glitchy second drop brings even more creative synth work to the forefront that results in a tune that is definitely a “tale of two halves''. Forthcoming on the 4th of December, the Bristol boys offer up a seriously sophisticated slice of dancefloor Christmas fun, guaranteed to warm your cockles (or cause your tree to spontaneously combust!). Mentored by one of the geniuses of the Portuguese Bass scene, the wonderful late Razat, RIP, Carlos Salgueiro, producing under the moniker Dead End, has come from deep hip-hop roots to passionately embrace what has been labelled as the ‘future sound’ of Bass music. Tasteful pallets of abstract, ethereal structures, raw powered-up bass movements and artfully composed, but heavy as fuck, beats are just some of the ingredients.” A few of the more open-minded Bass scenes including Bristol, Denver and Shenzhen, to name a few, have been embracing this crunchy, ‘Wonkay’ universe of Halftime for years now. Unchained are very much part of the this religion, operating under the same guiding principle….. “a bent frequency is a good frequency” Enter Dead End with his “Strapped” EP. Whilst we envision that this release may not necessarily be for the old school head, we love this for its dirty aesthetic, tidal wave low-end and for its effect on unsuspecting dancefloors. As an aside, Unchained would like to thank everyone for their support in recent days and weeks, we very much appreciate it. We hope this EP and future Unchained releases see you through the end of lockdown. The DIVING EP on SIN.FULL MAZE is going to be released on 30 / 11 / 2020 BANDCAMP PREMIERE on 23 / 11 / 2020. Descend Energetic, techy, experimental. Descend as a debut track builds itself with the fake first drop that has some serious straight beat (You smell that Netherland’s vibe?). Second drop goes full bananas - punchy-metal flow works like an avalanche taking the tune’s idea on the walk with the highest urgency. You just descended one level down. Keep going. Synchronen Entering under the water surface you gotta make yourself synchronised with the local climate. And Synchronen is a bouncy swagger! Swifty drums, hard hitting stabs and kicks, dry FXs and roomy low-key sub makes you feel like a drunk and horny sailor… you just got to get yourself synchronised. Dissolution This is deep. Exploring the unknown areas of the subworld. Dissolution’s synths and sub-bass will lead you to feel that atmosphere from this new experience. You can hear the ocean’s life whispering how small and pathetic you are. Accept it, merge with it, move on. Just chill with it. Set Point Set Point feels like they are running away from what they have seen down there, innit? War elephant horns, rolling percs, explosive and sharp sequences. It is angry, it is straightforward and it ends here… PLOT-TWIST: It is actually a global-warming slash Salvador Dalí reference, hh.#notequal #divingep #neurofunk #filthybass #dnb @notequal.music https://www.instagram.com/p/CIW_ZoQJpWc/?igshid=89cplseoxgrc

In true Hybrid Minds style, the rework of 'Love Is Not Enough' is a liquid drum & bass spin of the vocal trance classic, featuring soft piano pads alongside the original emotive vocals. 4 December Spotify & Beatport Exclusive 20 December Worldwide Release April 2019. Droptek unleashes his 18 track debut album Symbiosis onto Korsakov Music and the rest is history. Noisia, Camo & Krooked, Black Sun Empire, MUZZ, Koven and even Pendulum all repped the originals and also many of the first 9 remixes on Droptek - Symbiosis Remixed Part 1, culminating in Pendulum playing Sentient (Joe Ford Remix) on their groundbreaking Spitbank Fort Livestream. Now, Symbiosis Remixed returns with Part 2, with a roll call as hench as any. AKOV decides he’s had enough of all that genre nonsense and turns Revolver into arguably the most ridiculous track he’s ever made, offering a staggering 122 bpm breakbeat spectacle that’s set to knock out everybody brave enough to hear it. Brand new Korsakov Music signees PRFCT Mandem show off their musical prowess and impeccable production skills on their complete techstravaganza that is their Cyclic Remix. High Maintenance and Polygon both give their highly unique and recognizable twists on Illusions - the most popular track on Symbiosis by a mile, blessed by the enchanting and magic vocal performance of Holly Drummond. AC13 flips title track Symbiosis in truly ridiculous fashion, turning a bona fide roller hit into a futuristic piece of controlled chaos set to tear dancefloors up across the world. Mean Teeth and Wingz manage to turn the respective album opener and closer The Expanse and The Spire into some of the most clever remixing you’ll hear in a long time, offering wildly different yet equally impressive takes on the beginning and the end of Symbiosis LP. Where Levela goes murky roller on Devoid, L3mmy Dubz goes all out jump up destroyer on Criptos (Bad Sound). Droptek - Symbiosis Remixed Part 2 twists and turns, bends but doesn’t break, it surprises, excites, amazes and shocks and goes into every possible corner of the drum & bass spectrum, Korsakov Music style. Perhaps the only thing even better is that not one, but TWO more parts are coming in this remix series. You have been warned…..#korsakovmusic #neurofunk #droptek #remixedpart2 @droptekofficial https://www.instagram.com/p/CIW_ES7JmRC/?igshid=pwf5wb1vc3ve

How long had he been in the waiting room? Time seemed to pass in an orderless fashion within this place, speeding up or slowing down, simply stopping or skipping forwards seemingly in accord with its own whims. Looking up from the television set before him, the man stole a glance at the receptionists at the front desk, who continued working diligently as before with little a thought spared in his direction. Checking his watch next, the man pondered at the time. When had his appointment been? 10 am? The watch read 10:05, and he did hope he might be called back soon. After all it was only a small matter, something wrong with his skin, though exactly what he could not remember. Leaning his head back to peer through the door to the examination rooms, the man noticed handprints adorning the window set within it. How charming that the doctors and nurses had had their children decorate their workplace, he thought with a smile. And such a nice smell the office had too! He hadn’t noticed it at first, but the clinic had a distinct scent of decay, quite alike to smells he had first discovered in the woods behind his grandparents’ house. Yes, that was it, that moist, rotting scent that came to the nose when a curious child first lifted a small log to discover what secrets might lay underneath. The memories flooded back to him. Such pleasant times those were, far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Settling back into his seat, the man smiled, reminiscing in his childhood as another chunk of flesh fell from his cheek. NAIS returns to EATBRAIN with his latest EP entitled Testing Lab. The followup to his raucous 2019 EP “Selecta” on the label, as well as more recent efforts across labels including Bad Taste, Souped Up, and Neuropunk, Testing Lab brings NAIS’ sound back to the hungry ears of the EATBRAIN horde, re-energizing their auditory receptors with the artist’s boisterous neurofunk sound.#EATBRAIN #NAIS #NEUROFUNK #TESTINGLAB #dnb @nais.dabromusic @eatbrainer_dnb https://www.instagram.com/p/CIW-9rXp2DI/?igshid=mbmsr0umxuar

Marking their debut appearance on the burgeoning Perth label ProtoCode, acclaimed Adelaide duo V O E return with a rugged new single entitled “Where You Belong”. Formed of Tevlo and CARZi – both stellar singers and producers in their own right – the rising Aussie tag-team have taken the drum and bass scene by storm since banding together in 2018, amassing an international following off the back of releases on the globally renowned Liquicity, China’s Unchained Recordings and Black Sun Empire’s Blackout Music NL. Departing from the tender, poppy sonics of their most recent output, “Where You Belong” is one of the group’s most blistering songs to date and a perfect fit for the ProtoCode camp. While CARZi has lent her silky vocals to many of the pair’s latest releases, it’s Tevlo who steps up to the mic on this occasion to lay down an ominous topline. Drawing audible influences from both neurofunk and electronic rock, the track combines distorted stabs with juddering, mechanical whirs and shrieking synth work, reaching an adrenaline-pumping pinnacle. With four versions of the track included on the single, including a club mix and an extended mix, there’s plenty to pick from. “Where You Belong” drops 7 December via ProtoCode Records.#VOE #protocode #whereyoubelong #neurofunk #perthdnb @voeaus https://www.instagram.com/p/CIW-yr3pnHC/?igshid=1p4wy0hgz0wey

KOMAX makes his IN:DEEP MUSIC debut with his latest EP, “DESTINY”. A rising Russian artist with previous releases on T3K Recordings and Live History, KOMAX now comes to IN:DEEP with five tracks that resonate with both low frequencies and the deep and technical focus of the IN:DEEP label. Opened by the it’s own title track, the DESTINY EP quickly slides into a groove that flows upon the energy of sharp kickdrums and the undulating bassline frequencies that they emanate. PURE then follows with an opening of a more melodic nature, wherein it’s consonant leads flit with a motion that imbues the track with an atmosphere of levity even amidst the considerable weight of its primary bass sequence. KUTHULU is the next track to rise from the EP’s depths, presenting an eldritch atmosphere punctuated with percussive patterns that cut through its murky milieu. PUSH! comes next in the EP, and follows through on the promise of its title as it pushes its myriad sonic elements within the DESTINY EP’s most frenzied track, which weaves multiple rhythmic & tonal elements together for the creation of a crisscrossing matrix of considerable magnitude.WALL-E closes the EP with pads of a ponderous nature that are set adrift amongst a syncopated set of percussive impacts that find themselves occasionally overcome by synthesized subfrequencies of a distinctly mechanical nature. With DESTINY, KOMAX displays a diverse array of sonic selections on IN:DEEP MUSIC, delving into depth at the EP’s beginning and floating amongst drifting atmospheres by its end. An exploratory EP born of KOMAX’s many influences, DESTINY comes to IN:DEEP MUSIC drawn by the gravity of artists and label’s fated sonic interactions. #komax #destiny #ep #indeep #dnb #neurofunk #bassproducer https://www.instagram.com/p/CH_j_REJn5c/?igshid=lzos4feaupjc
