So with Blizzard's stupid diversity chart thing being clowned on, I think it's important to mention that none of the developers/Team 4 were aware of it and hate it as well
Yeah I mean it literally says "King" at the top of the article, whose games have always been like, Candy Crush and whatnot. Plus, they said it was developed and being beta-tested in 2016, and that's literally when Overwatch was dropping its first beta--meaning its initial cast of characters were already developed. And you only need to look at the concept art in the art books to know that Mercy had a black male concept art and Symmetra had white concept art. Like, these characters more or less saw a traditional progression through the production of concept art and kit development with lots of trial and error. Not only that, but the Overwatch team has been very upfront about its character concepts and development, and a significant portion of Overwatch basically being a result of re-adapting character concepts and content from a different, aborted MMO shooter, "Titan," and those game concepts started way back in 2007--not to mention the original Soldier:76 story, which started even earlier back in 2004.
It's just so gross that they used Overwatch characters for that article and for the examples because they were more immediately recognizable than anything in King gaming's repertoire. And then you have these 'almost-too-absurd-to-be-offensive-but-are-still-offensive-as-fuck' infographics that are like "Torbjorn is more 'old' than Lúcio is 'black!' Aren't we progressive??"

It’s kinda funny seeing Hatsune Miku being credited on songs she sings. From one perspective you’re crediting a digital pop star who did the vocals, which makes sense, but in the opposite perspective you’re crediting what is essentially an instrument, like saying “Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven and Piano”

Did you know that there have been American presidents that were direct descendants of a previous president? These were John Quincy Adams, Benjamin Harrison and George W Bush. Interestingly all three of these also lost the popular vote for their first term election.

striaton trio = shadow triad theory was genuinely the funniest thing ever considering there are many things pointing to it despite its overall absurdity, i fully believe it was the initial purposeful implication, And honestly the way bw2 debunks it is even funnier. the shadow triad are like fuck off we are the cooler triplets

So, I have been dragged out of my internet slumber leading up to finals to see this mess, and i dont post much, but I do have to rant here because people keep saying something that gets on my nerves.
NSR/NO STRAIGHT ROADS PEOPLE: THIS RANT IS NOT AT YOU! This is tagged because I am using concept art of Sayu. Please go on with your day. :)
Now, for the Subma and/or Pokémon fans,
As Im sure everyone who has been under the ingo tab for more than 2 seconds today has learned, there's supposedly a leak of pages from the PLA concept art book of the concept art of Ingo with a receding hairline and no eyebrows. If you don't know what Im talking about, here is the picture.
Tumblr media
Now, I feel I have to address this first before I move on to my actual problem here. I personally see no problem with Ingo having a receding hairline and no eyebrows. Honestly it's kind of funny. Will I personally be drawing and/or imagining him with a receding hairline? For the most part, probably not, but I support the people who do.
HOWEVER, what I AM pissed about are the people who are saying that this is canonical. You have to remember that this is an art book, and while it is still official concept art, it is just that, CONCEPT art.
CONCEPT 👏 ART 👏 IS 👏 NOT 👏 ALWAYS 👏 CANON!!! 👏
A perfect example of this is Sayu from the game "No Straight Roads" by Metronomik (hi NSR fans, sorry if you're still here and have decided to see the fuck is happening in the pokémon side of tumblr). The lovely crew behind the character designs for the game let us see A LOT of the concept art for these characters, and probably one of the most distinct evolutions of the characters design in the lineup and probably the best example of my case is Sayu, the bubbly mermaid popstar. Some of her earliest concept art shows her even before she was decided to be a mermaid!
Tumblr media
Now, is this what sayu looks like? NO! Can you draw her like that or write fanfic about her looking like that? Yes! But JUST BECAUSE ITS AN OFFICIAL CONCEPT DOES NOT MEAN ITS CANON. Early concept art of her even in her mermaid form shows a vastly different design!!!
Tumblr media
Later concepts do get a lot closer to what her official design is, but, well... thats how concept art works! The later concepts are going to a lot more closely resemble the final product because its what immediately lead to it!!!
Tumblr media
Needless to say, we don't know all the changes Ingo's design went through during concept phases to his official artwork, since Gamefreak only shows us so much in these artbooks, we don't fully know how his design has evolved over time. However, this
Tumblr media
And this
Tumblr media
Are the official design and model that we got. Meaning his hairline could be fucking across his forhead for all we know. Please, do have fun and enjoy drawing bald Ingo, I look forward to seeing what this does to all the fanfics, headcanons (ha!), and the stories. But please, don't call that shiny head canon, I don't need to burst a blood vessel today. You can call me in denial all you want, but unless we see his hairline in some official artwork like pokemon masters or the anime or something, I will continue to sit on this hill until I too look like I've gone through hell after getting yeeted to the wrong time period.
TL,DR; girl gets irrationally mad at tumblr because they keep saying that because something is in the concept art that it is canon.
Thank you for reading through my half baked rant, and I am sorry.

People keep spreading various ages & years about the leaked Ingo art, but from what I can tell it's just random unsourced assumptions. I've also seen people talking about translations, but there's really nothing like that written on the page? Unless there's a whole separate page out there about it, it feels more like hearsay at this point. Anyway!
Let's break down Ingo's page!
The page has four pieces of text. The title, the arrival concept sketch, one that indicates a button & one that's completly unreadable indicating his pearl clan gear.
The one that indicates a button might say "pearl", possibly indicating that is what his buttons are made of, but the bad quality makes it hard to see.
Title
Tumblr media
This says:
シンジュ団 Shinju-dan (Pearl Clan)
キャプテン Captain (Warden)
ノボリ Nobori (Ingo)
The XX
Tumblr media
Unfortunatly it's far too blurry for me to make out the kanji reliably, but crucially the XX could mean anything. This is most likely concept sketches from development. They probably put XX there to keep it open ended. It doesn't automatically make it double digits. It probably just means unkown. Hell, the way it's depicted even goes against in game canon. (Found standing around & staring into nothingness by the Pearl clan)
If you like the idea, then that's fine, but there's literally no "canon" basis for actual amount of time he's been there. He could have gotten to Hisui at any time & at any age. Him balding doesn't automatically make him 50. The only only mention of that number seems to be from a joke from the person who posted the page on twitter. Like.

Ingo most likely hasn't been in Hisui more than 5 years and will return home because...
Ingo's case ain't like Looker+Anabel. Neither remember anything, show little overall concern about their past, and had their pokemon partners with the. Ingo still has some memories, yearns for them openly, and does not have his team. This is why I feel Ingo was pulled through by Volo, seeing as he is ever so slightly different from the actually established Ultra Wormhole fallers. ALSO NOTE both Looker and Anabel have no known family or deep friendships prior to their fall. Keep this in mind for point 3.
Ingo and Emmet are VERY popular in the Japanese fandom. They will almost certainly include Submas in the BW remakes, especially since the subway system is so integral in general.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe main-line Pokemon games have ever permanently separated established family characters outside of pre-story shenanigans. Family and friends are extremely important in Pokemon, to separate popular pre-established twin characters from a game all about duality would be go against all of that.
Ingo's clothes would not survive 10 years in the Hisuin wilderness. Sun bleaching happens VERY FAST in all actuality. Considering Ingo is constantly outside and active, I'd give it at anywhere between 1 to 5 years.
Ingo shows desire to unearth his memories and return home ('strive to find where he belongs' or something of that sort, said during one of his special challenges). I doubt he'd still hold on so tightly if 10+ years had passed. He seems open to leaving Hisui behind, which is easier to do at 5 years than 10.
XX could stand for 20 or 01. Using XX is not only aesthetically pleasing but also avoids giving away any spoilers. Because if they only used one X that would immediately give away the time spent in Hisui. This is the kind of situation where answering one part of the question with a negative spoiles the whole answer.
Irida introduces Ingo to the protag as 'like you[protag]' and immediately talks about his showing up from nowhere with no memories. This aligns him with the protag in their Outsider status, regardless of being a Pearl Warden. Similarly-
The rift in Hisui is recent. While this isn't the first rift to happen, something we are told by the worldly traveler professor Laventon, it hasn't been there for any more than two years. This is because the Galaxy Team and Jubilife Village has only existed in Hisui for 2 years! The way Kamado reacts to it is one of someone starting a new life in a new place only for a very sudden problem to pop up. I doubt they would have chosen to settle there had the rift already existed.
The Clans make no mention of multiple rifts, only multiple distortion spaces.
Post-game, the only NPC to mention Ingo does so by wondering where he's from, drawing attention on Ingo's missing home.
Conclusion: Until proven otherwise, there is far more in favor of Ingo returning home than not.
