Classic monster movies like the original Godzilla were made to explore themes concerning the risks of nuclear armaments and humanity's impact on nature. Today, however, our cultural concerns have shifted and evolved over time, and with that, our movies have as well. This week, Teegan & Lindsay talk about recent films that reflect that, whether the message is more on the nose like in Don't Look Up, or when it's a more subtle commentary on humanity's interference in nature ala Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Just beware, spoilers abound! Also in this episode, Teegan discusses their experience with the newly released Horizon: Forbidden West.

While I wait (as patiently as possible) for Forbidden West to drop, I'm trying out some new stuff that just got patched in to Cyberpunk! I got to adjust my V's looks and give him a nice beard as well as sleep next to Kerry and wake up to see the rocker boy softly snoring. 🥺 I'm also working on some gigs as, if you finish out all gigs with a fixer, you'll get a nice reward for it in game 👀 If you've been stalling on Night City, now's the time to get back into it!

Now that the series has concluded, Teegan and Lindsay take a look at The Book of Boba Fett and discuss their feelings on it. From the backstory it fleshed out to the connections it drew, while this series was fun and entertaining, it seemed more a way to set up storylines for other series rather than something that can stand fully on its own. And don't worry, we discuss Grogu and Mando's situation as well as Ahsoka and Luke and what we might see from future series along with our hopes for an as-of-yet unannounced season 2. Just make sure you've caught up with the series before you tune in, as spoilers abound!

Unfortunately, our schedules have been thrown off this week and so instead of trying to force it, we're taking this week off to do what we need, to rest and recover, and we'll be back with our episode next week instead. Thanks for understanding!

So, at the beginning of the year, I took on a little challenge to see how quickly I could play through an entire world state in Dragon Age. While I did get a bit *ahem* distracted with Horizon Zero Dawn, I have managed to make it most of the way through Origins! I basically just have some Chanter's board stuff, Orzammar/The Deep Roads, a companion quest, and Denerim/The Landsmeet, and then it's time for the final battle!
.
Also, this world state I've officially dubbed "Sword Lesbian Heroes of Thedas". You're welcome.

Ever since the release of the first movie in the Matrix franchise, there’s been a lot of talk of the themes and stories and allegories being told throughout the series, and this newest entry is no exception. Take the red pill and dive down the rabbit hole with us as we explore The Matrix: Resurrections, its themes, the meta commentary, the references, and the overarching trans allegory that the creators have always intended to be present from the very beginning. Just beware, this is definitely not spoiler-free!

Oop, I got a little involved yesterday with Horizon Zero Dawn's DLC, Into the Frozen Wilds, and with this kind of gorgeous scenery, can you really blame me? Also, is anyone else EXCITED for Forbidden West to drop next month? I just saw another trailer for it and I cannot wait! I love this story and I'm hype to see where they go with it! 😁 (besides into the Forbidden West, obviously 🤪)

We're back from our holiday break and ready to talk about Spider-Man: No Way Home! If you haven't seen the movie yet, take note that this episode is not spoiler-free as we dive into the specifics of the plot and the movie and how it ties together three franchises worth of characters. We also take a moment to lightly speculate Spider-Man's future in the MCU and what they could look like, and what the MCU could look like even without Spidey present. Also, Lindsay's Strean of Consciousness gives us a good reminder to not give in to toxicity even in family and to respect your own boundaries, even if no one else will.
